Hi Rachael, I just wanted to say your videos have been a revelation for me and because of your work I'm starting to build the courage to take on these learned habbits that I've relied on since I was a teenager. I'm a large man and because of that I reckon I get far fewer negative comments on my size than the women you help, but I do get "compliments" that have damaged my self-esteem over the years. Learning to see food outside of a good/bad paradigm is something I didn't know was possible until I discovered your channel. Other videos I've seen adhere to that mentality too ("use this trick to go from eating badly to eating properly!"). You speak with compassion and experience in a way that makes me feel like a normal person for once in my adult life. I'm actually excited to take on these challenges because now I understand that change is possible, if I want it. Thank you for all that you do and I hope that you have a great rest of the year!

I can't be confident in my own body as I look like a tightly wrapped bean bag. I get wedged in tight spaces, and my boobs knock things over in shops. I have put 2 stone on in 2 months due to comfort eating following a horrid episode with toxic people and constant chest infections. The pie chart (pie lol!) is a great tool, it's a simple tip, and I didn't think it would work, but I've been sitting here a while thinking about it, and feel my confidence is increasing. I have an elderly relative living with me who has no filter. He's always been this way. If someone large is on TV he'll say things like "She's almost as fat as you are!". That's difficult to cope with every day, but I know how much he appreciates all I do for him. He bought a beautiful plant in a musical tin for me yesterday as I'd ironed his trousers while feeling unwell. Thank you for sharing your time and ideas.

I'm pleased that the pie chart tip helped! And I completely appreciate how challenging comments like that can be. I really do. It doesn't make them appropriate or fair though and I'm glad that you recognise that. And I'm really glad you're having appreciation shown to you! From something you said, I may have not communicated myself well in the video. I think there is a difference between feeling confident in our body and feeling confident in ourselves regardless of our body. I also think there is a different between wanting to change our bodies if we could and being held back in life by insecurities. I do hope you are feeling more well in yourself - I used to get chest infections really badly so I empathise. Wishing you a wonderful holiday season ❤️

This is so important! I set boundaries for all weight-centric comments, even the positive ones; I remember asking my friends and family to compliment me on other things. I bring so much more to relationships than my appearance. It really helped me to develop a sense of self outside of my body. What else do people love about me? What else makes me memorable and valuable? It helped me to shift focus away from my appearance and onto real growth; becoming an approachable and kind friend, sister, daughter. Really love these tips!
