Presence of yellow sclera without any liver damage, means there is something going on in the eye. Usually it could be pigmentations which are like birth marks and those pigmentations cannot be treated. If they are large, they need to be removed by a surgeon. However the most common cause for the yellow sclera is the farmer’s eyes, those who are more exposed to pollution or dryness. It can happen in outdoor workers, marketing professionals or indoor workers who work in air conditioned environments or computers. In these cases also if it is early it can be treated, by simple antiallergic medication and lubrication drops. However if left for a certain period of time, it becomes permanent. So it has to be treated early and you have to contact your nearby ophthalmologist as soon as possible.
