So very good and necessary. "It's not about the teacher(preacher), it's about the student." I'm thinking the House Church movement, will accelerate now for many reasons.
Although I agree with many things this man said, I think when he said there isn’t a “one size fits all” it kind of sounded like we should cater the gospel to each individual differently based on who they are. I believe the gospel can relate to everybody and doesn’t need to be changed to fit what somebody is/is going through
I see what you're saying and agree to a certain extent. I think Barna is speaking more to ongoing discipleship needing to be done individually. Jesus gave us a great example. He spoke the truth both to individuals and larger crowds, but He discipled on an individual level, keeping the number limited to 12. We've been involved in many smaller and larger churches through the years, and very few of them had effective discipleship ministry happening. I believe every Christian church should have small/cell groups, where true relational discipleship and fellowship can take place for the very important reasons that bro Barna mentions here.
