6 things to get Africa started: 1)invest in education. 2) tackle corruption. 3) ensure a strong and functioning judiciary that's truly independent from any political interference. 4)invest heavily in infrastructure projects like roads, rail, airports, ports, telecommunications, etc. 5) create a business friendly environment in terms of taxation and incentives. 6) learn from other successful countries like Singapore, China, etc which manage to transition from colonial rule to the thriving economies of today.
What is education eye? What's your definition of corruption?what's the infrastructure meaning in the soil of Africa?what's made out of taxes and on what bases are we to impose taxes to the average man?what's the comparation of the Asian countries if not by colonialism to our continent?this are some of the questions we need to ask before laying down answers.for as ma grdmum will say we have alot of right answers to A question but only one is THE answer to fit it perfectly. So let's lay questions rather brothers and sisters ☝🏿☝🏿
@@jiggadred pls take ya time and observe! We have more scholars than any nations combined on earth we learn so much we are the best in theories so if I may ask who is it benefitting this universal education?
Yesooo, they really do sound like Nigerians, my beloved country. I believe most have heritage from Nigeria. I got a reply that they do eat fufu and okra soup, a Nigerian favorite! One love Africa. 😘
@@rosemond1644 you are right we have coco yam too ,we eat it chunks with cassava and potatoes or by it self(boiled)with sauce full of fish and meat (great sauce)
Invest in Africa Creole isn’t pidgin English it’s very offensive to call Creole pidgin English in Sierra Leone. Creole is a mixture of Jamaican Patois , Yoruba , Temne , Mende , English , Fula and Igbo etc... Creole is taught in school as a written language pidgin English is merely slang or used in a social context. Creole is used by everyone and is spoken by 90% of the population.
Of course they are the locals he is talking to!do they look like foreigners to you? or you're surprised you have such well Educated people in Siera Leone?
I like when he said Africa has been covered with a canopy of dishonesty. That is so true; another one said political leaders neglect their constituencies and build empires for themselves. Sierra Leoneans are truly brilliant. One young lady talked about the lack of citizens initiatives and how everyone depends on government to create jobs. Another one stressed the lack of support from those that have gotten to the top by not supporting others that want to get there ,which is terrible. In my home, Liberia, the citizens relied on government heavily. If you ask Liberians these same questions, you will hear more about the failure of government but the youth of SL were very objective and I like that.
I like this line of engagement with the youth, I think you should feature this going forward, it's good to know how the youth feel about the goings on in Africa, thanks Maya
The young lady who first talked about charge of mind set , is in my mind. The country in which the government is the first job provider is a failed country. Thinking somebody is responsible for your future is a failure itself.
They have programmed our minds to go to school, get good certificates and come and look for someone to serve for life(job). When one fails to get a Master to serve, he sees himself as a failure because from day one he was never told that after the degrees, he is to come and use whatever knowlege acquired from school to create something or solve a problem that will make others serve him rather.
@@lehconana158 you're right we've got lot of universities in the continent in all sectors yet cannot produce anything, rather import almost everything down to a tooth pick.
I'm Black American my humble opinion is the change in Africa will come when other nations who have their hands in Africas resources are officially kicked out and disallowed back!
This is another avenue to connect ourselves together as African youths to find pragmatic approach to the problems confronting the continent, thanks for talking to the students, they have been so meticulous and articulate, the future is ourselves
A very important conversation to have, great responses! Many of the issues that they have with world leaders and politics are found all around the world.
JamaicanSista ROBINSON our languages are very similar Patois and Krio e.g Gyal , Siddung , yaso , desso , are all words that we share in common there are several more but I can’t name them all.
Things for the Youth to consider: Self Confidence, Critical Thinking, Can Do Attitude, Innovation, Technogy, Engineering, Science and Manufacturing Education.
Good day Wode Maya, All of these young, talented people with wisdom beyond their years have summed it up.. We should all stand in solidarity from all over the world and these things can come to pass.. One ❤ Afrika to the world...
Hello Wodemaya, greetings from Germany, l am Ghanaian bruh God bless you for the good work you're doing. In fact, if I have been asked to change something within our continent,I will straight away change the language how we as Africans speaks Whitman's language is very bad
@@clementayimbila2804 Swahili or Madingo is something we should think about, because Swahili is spoken in most East African countries and Madingo in most West African and central African countries.
@Clement Ayimbila. I suggests every Country within the African continent will pick one language so that we will learn them in our various schools so that, the white will fear and respect us blacks or else hmmmmm. bless you.
Kingsley Ogbonna big difference. Pidgin English is used by the uneducated or as a slang in Nigeria Creole is a culture and a language and the Creoles are known for being the most educated.
Africa Prophet (WODE MAYA, YOUTH PRESIDENT) for me we the youths needs to change our mind set as said by one student in your interview. Presently i have registered my business as an entrepreneur as Sierra Leonean, working very hard to boast up my business. Let every youths pay attention to entrepreneurship that we will not depend on government in providing jobs. God bless you Africa Prophet
#The system.. am with the last guy.. so brave of you we need to focus on the system to change the mindset of the people(youths)..... #than as for Sierra Leone @ 2:50 very intelligent lady empowerment is the major key.. 🇸🇱❤️
To change Africa, we need access to capital ‘cash’ and credit for a startup business. We also need an individual responsibility of freeing themselves from mental slavery. We need war against corruption by passing death penalty for any corruption in the government. We need to have an age limit to be a president anybody older than 60 year old should be made to step down. We need to change all our law that have any connection with colonial thugs. We as Black peoples need to love ourselves more than our enemies. We need to make new laws that will protect our interests in Africa and every Black peoples around the world. We need to develop our resources by ourselves and sell the finish product to the outside world. Africa need to be one, together we’re stronger and no nation will be able to stand on our way. Stop the division among ourselves love your KINGS AND QUEEN 👑 around the world, nobody loved us or care about us as Black peoples, so we own it to ourselves to love and care for one another. Peace

Free Town has one of the most beautiful Landscape City in the World.... Look at that see Views... Green landscape... it’s only Need a Pop up... then it’s a Paradies.
Love this country and it's youths and how they speak English is wonderful. Much love Leone from Rwanda. I like your president. Africa unite. Say hi to Vickie Remoe.
I am from east of Africa to be specific..Ethiopia I want to appreciate Sierra Leon's youth they so aware of the current world situation and efficient of planning but when it comes to implications they look like a little behind other parts of Africa like S.A Nigeria , Ghana , Kenya, Ruwanda etc.ect .but with this attitude and mind set and their natural resources they really can catch up so fast...go my people I like their energy .they more sound like Ghanaian accent than Nigerian to me.Good job wode maya do this in every country that how empowerment begins all this intelligent ppl never had media exposures before I am sure of that. let us be one Africa and build it together.
Abdullahi your contributions says it all. The word ''Motivation'' is what I perceived lacking in African community today and even when we want to motivate us, We always try to use pride in delivering it which I think is wrong. In addition Africans don't like criticism which I think can help us to overcome our mistakes or become better.
In my Opinion ,this is the most impactful Video you have created . There has got to be a complete Revolution in the Mindset of the People ... from Bottom to Top.... Individuals and Government . I really applaud those Students you interviewed . Am so elated that our Dear Continent , Africa has a very BRIGHT , GREEN FUTURE !!!
To those asking Wode Maya to do a collabo with Drew Binsky. Obviously you guys are missing the whole point of the Africa To The World project. It is about Africans telling their own narratives in showing their continent and motherland to the world in a positive way. Wode Maya and Miss Trudy are doing a great job by collaborating with local African vloggers in any African country they visit. The powerful message of Wode Maya work is to show Africans that they can take control of the portrayal of the image of Africa to the world independently without being patronized by Europeans or Asians for some type of validation. By the way , this is Drew Binsky video on Sierra Leone, titled WE GOT SCAMMED (SIERRA LEONE) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-U0hNtt_Fj_E.html Now, after watching this video of Drew Binsky, does it make you want to visit Sierra Leone as Wode Maya's would?
Let me quote a popular saying " emancipate yourselves from mental slavery, none but ourselves can free our minds ..." Change happens in the mind before one actually realizes the change. It's all mental - Africa's youth have realized this, judging by the answers you're getting from the youth. Good work Wode Maya!
The knowledge of the African youth is truly inspiring. Most know what’s going on in their country/continent, speak multiple languages and a great relationship for opposite sex. Very encouraging, the futures very bright. Great video Maya you are a visionary with your content.
You are at the first university of west Africa Fourah Bay College, I think it will be good to speak to professor Joe AD Alie he is a great historian. Thank you for visiting our country
Very incisive conversation, Kudos wode maya I'm delighted you visited Sierra Leone. I went to that University, but unfortunately I just spent a year there.I'm currently studying in China.Useful thought from these brilliant Sierra Leonean.
These young Kings and Queens are so beautiful and intelligent. I’m so proud of them. They need to be groomed to take office in their government; this is key. Change must first come on the judicial, executive and legislative levels.
Not one person has mention parents failure to invest in their kids. Moreover, parents need to stop expecting their children to be their retirement plans. There needs to be a system where parents are held accountable. They need to get rid of the mentality where older people are always respected despite their improprieties. The elders are the ones who have messed up. Start holding them accountable and change will begin to happen.
I would love to change the mindset of Africans first back to overstanding self preservation: Africa for Africans: empowering Africans to educate themselves in all areas of life in order to build a United African Empire for Africans which the world is yet to see. Using our own resources for our growth and preparing the minds of our children to know that it's important for their survival on this planet to follow suit when we are gone.
That’s the anthem of West Africa the citadel of learning, the fountain of knowledge, the university which am proud of.... WODA MAYA,I do appreciate your zest of telling the story of Africa... Africa must rise again.... Political dishonesty has been a very key factor that’s killing the youth in Africa , i hope we should introduce hygiene in our politics by fighting against corrupt people who are in office with corrupt practices in other to enriching themselves..... Corruption should not be tolerated in Africa and its has to be treated holistically by holding our leaders accountable when they leaves office..... I do believe that we must rise rise again... one love Africa..... Peace Sierra Leone.....
The number one issue is lawlessness, corruption & lack of respect for self & others & not just Africans in Africa as well as the Diaspora particularly those in Haiti the same as mainland Africa.
Sierra leone have to change their mentality and allow us krio people to be a part of the future of S/Leone. So krio people just stay aboard endlessly. We need to unite and not think that the APC/SLPP are the only group who can rule Sierra leone that they are the true indigenous of this country. After all we krio people cleaned the Forrest in freetown to make freetown what we used to know from before.(1960-1994).
AM GLAD SEEING ADS GOD BLESS US ALL 🙏 PLEASE TRY NOT TO SKIP TO SUPPORT WE LOVE U 8:28 HE HAS SPOKEN WELL , THE POLITICIANS EASILY FORGET THEY HAVE PEOPLE TO SERVER ,IS NOW SACARSM THE PEOPLE HAVE TO SERVE THEM INSTEAD.... VERY SAD
Mr. Youth President, out of the mouths of the youths of Afrika flow ideas and solutions that can help to rebuild, reclaim and unify Afrika, as they are waking up and unlearning the years of negative indoctrination circulated by the West, that will move Afrika in a positive forward direction in the near future.
I would teach our african culture consisting of our history , traditions, music , dress and prayer systems. I would impliment a community day at least once a week where people would choose to help elders or the sick and that at least two working days african clothes should be worn made from african cloth designed and manufactured in africa instilling a new african pride in self and all things african. Maths lessons would include business and finance .
Wode Maya, I pray the video gets over 5K likes. Regardless of the likes, I think you should continue similar interviews in every African country you visit. This will help give viewers a richer perspective and perhaps help future policy makers to make policies that elevate the continent and its youth.
