I noticed that my mare was drooling so I had the veterinarian come and have a look. He said she had a broken tooth so she went to the equine hospital for a couple of days and had dental surgery. The drool didn’t have a foul odour which meant that there was no infection yet. She also did what is called pouching. She would collect chewed up hay in the painful area of the tooth to protect it the area.
