Top marks for Health and Safety. The young lad doing the grinding was ankle deep in the dust and none of the grinding discs had guards on. I started coughing just watching.
This what we need to know and learn all of us as Africans more especially poor countries this can really change our lives then just depending in farming as a source of in come. Thank you
I'm not quite sure how I feel about this. It's impressive that these men make brake pads pretty much by hand but at such a great cost. To the environment and, most importantly, to their health.
I agree they to feed their family but for how long can they do this type of work before they get sick and not be able to work. They don't use any kind of protection
@@christianraygoza5676 they should take precautions on their health, then the environment and not make so many children that have to work instead of playing and studying at schools.. it common in islam world too many childs while living in absolute poverty

Are you nuts? Environmentally friendly operation? No masks, bare feet, no gloves, all kind of fumes…and CHILDREN working…you have no clue what you are talking about. These people are working in a totally toxic, unfriendly, unsafe and abusive environment in conditions 50 years past. 🤯🤯🤯🇨🇦🇨🇦
Very humbling video. It takes a valiant spirit to toil under those conditions and yet manage to smile in such a cordial manner. Human grace under extreme circumstances. There is a lesson to humanity in a work ethic that intense. Mike Kirwan - Kenmore, WA
For those in the west, pay close attention to the ubiquitous health and safety measures implemented here 1 open toed safety sandles 2 loose fitting flammable work overalls 3 hand Protection 4 Face shield incorporating breathing filters And this ladies an gentleman is why the east can produce goods at a fraction of the price of Western manufactured goods.

If that is Asbestos, I fear for the people making these. The poor have no choice as they either do this work or starve. I hope all you Westerners like myself, watch this and thank God that you do not have to live like this. We were born lucky. God bless these hard working people.
Even if it's not asbestos, that dust can't be good for you. Even a cheap medical mask would've made a difference. I'm somewhat familiar with those kind of "operations" and most issues there is due to simple neglect.
This is the only thing I object to is the working conditions. But lets.not put down these men and the hard work and ingenuity they put into their craft.
If a RU-vid tester could get hold of a set of these pads and compare their performance to well know brands like Mintex or Brembo that would make an interesting video.
When I was a kid my dad hired a Cuban guy. He told us that his job in Cuba was using Asbestos to rebuild brake shoes and brake pads. Thankfully he didn't do it for long before coming to the states. Of course back then they didn't know how dangerous Asbestos is. Just like these guys, they had few choices to earn a living. I still remember having to pay a core charge when buying brake pads. They make them so cheap now that you throw away the old ones.
В Казани, у меня сдохла колодка одна до скрежета. Купить-заказать минимум 2 недели. На СТОхе к пацанам подъехал, от ТАЗика взяли, приварили к моей и так до дома 4 тысячи километров доехал без проблем.
These pads suck .. I have tried the cheap ones once on my motorcycle , you could get them for 5$ . Stopping power almost none and not feel at all 😂 I throw them right away .
they look pretty good at what they do, as well as slowly letting that young teenager die while breathing in and touching all kinds of toxic dusts and fumes without any protection
So that’s why I got 160 thousand miles on the OEM pads! I could’ve easily gone at least another 25K out of them. I hope I get just half that out of my Bosch heavy duty replacements.
@@SG-gc7mn I highly doubt that its cheaper to let them make them this way instead of mass producing the pads in the thousands in a factory. They made like what, 100 pieces in a day or so? You could probably make thousands in a fraction of the time and cost.

A message to the handy people in pakistan: please make a clean concrete floor in your workshops. Clean up the mess in the corners. Wear protective gear. Keep improving your equipment.
OSHA in the USA, would have them change a FEW things in the process. Looks like asbestos or aramid fiber (Kevlar) than carbon fiber. EDIT: Well they do look like brake pads...

I use these for my civic. Honda sells these at their service stations for around 100 bucks same quality but i get them in local shop for just 10 bucks! Works perfectly fine and lasts ages!!!
Asbestos is not as bad as will to sell the proprietary replacement. Just like dupont's replacement for freon to «prevent ozone holes from growing». Eco-friendly bullshit.
The boxes say asbestos free so unless the company who supplies the brake pads is acting illegally I highly doubt asbestos is being used in the production of these brake pads.
So encouraging to see Pakistan moving into high-tech manufacturing. Joking aside, I remember I was in China in 1991, in a small town I saw a little shop front 'factory' of three farm ladies making cotton quilts by hand: Sacks of raw cotton on one side, rolls of cotton cloth on the other, and a big table in the middle where they spread out cotton, evened it out, made it nice and fluffy, then a sheet of cloth on top which they then quilted together. I think they could make one quilt every two hours between the three of them. China, of course, has moved on since those days.
I work in a workshop and we always buy this type of brakes which usually last a good 6month - 1 year or when it makes squeaking noises… it’s fascinating seeing how its made… I just wanna know what that powder is.?? I've seen some similar ones on clutches for bus... Ceramic is it.??

They are releasing the adhesive on the backing plate to the puck material. Nothing new here. It takes a LOT of heat and a longer period of time than anyone applies brakes for (unless there's a failure). You will end up boiling the brake fluid before you get it that hot.
