Her music wasn’t anything grandiose to begin with, she had one good year in 2018 due to the industry along with the general public desperately wanting a new female rapper at the top regardless of talent, and then in 2020 she managed to comeback with wap, but that was purely down to shock factor if we wanna be real. Everything after that has been a downward spiral, and there’s been no showcase of any artistic growth in her music at all, despite her career not even making it to a full decade
She has no lane in the rap game anymore. There is so many IG model, non-talented, influencer female rappers now a days she just one of many now. She ain't got the talent or creativity to stand out. So unless she starts flowing like Rapsody or being creative like Missy, her whole gimmick has been done to death by other female rappers right now.
She terrified especially since PF2 sold well, the tour sold out with expensive tickets. She feels the need to keep up with Nicki someone who can write their own music without having to wait until ghost writers are available, then she has to memorize the ghost writers song lol.

I am sure the label and Cardi regret not dropping an album when WAP and UP were circulating. That was prime time to come out 2 singles #1 it was perfect. Now it’s been years since the release. If she adds the two songs to the album it’s going to be strictly for numbers. The momentum and timing is not a good luck. Artists that broke through after her already a few albums in and touring. Shes gotta make money moves quick.

She waited way too long she is setting herself up for failure she should have dropped it with with wap or during the pandemic. This reminds me of dua lipa. You should never wait more than two years to drop your sophomore album because then people will have all these expectations which 99% of artists will probably fail to meet. Cardis run was beautiful. I even would often say I desire to have a "cardi year" because she came up so quick. Do I believe she deserve success. I was a big fan of Cardi, still am actually. I really want her to continue succeeding in the music industry but it seems her heart isn’t in it. I feel like when bongos was supposed to be the follow up to wap and it didnt do as well as wap and it kinda flopped that was a sign. Now she mainly known for beefing with her husband Offset cause offset cheated on her AGAIN and them she takes him back every time after getting mad and cursing her fans out after her streams are low. People compare Cardi’s sophomore album situation with SZA’s. But both sides are different. The singles that SZA has dropped years before the release of SOS, have been consistently doing well, especially on streaming. Meanwhile after WAP and UP, Cardi’s singles have been underperforming. Not to mention that newer female rappers like Sexxy Redd and GloRilla have been taking the spotlight recently. At this point of female rap, Nicki and Cardi have pretty much become catalysts for these girl’s uprising, whether it be beefing with them or even collabing with them.
