The really crazy thing about all of this is that Beltran wanted to stay in Houston. He was willing to take less money than the Mets offered. All he wanted was for the Astros to give him a no trade clause, and they refused.

I used to tell people he was a distant cousin, no matter we're from different parts of the Americas; I'm Native American from Oregon and he's Puerto Rican. Nobody bought it, but it was fun still following the career of someone similar in namesake. Done pretty good for himself, wish he would have come up bigger or made different choices in certain moments but oh well, hindsight is 20/20. Congrats cousin on a storied career. Also at the beginning of the vid when you showed the voting results for BBWAA ballot I felt he should have, or could have gotten a few more votes if not for some shenanigans in Houston possibly influencing decisions made. The one name on that list that stood out that got snubbed was Todd Helton. He played pretty solid on the road with a highly consistent glove, so eventually that Coors Field effect bullshit will have to be put to rest. Regardless, The Toddfather, is a legend.

CB had a great 2004 postseason but he also laid an egg in the playoffs for the Mets. The reason I would keep him out of the Hall is that he was the ringleader of the 2017 trash-can banging incident. If baseball fans are still going to be butthurt of that incident, shouldn't they take it out on the guy who led the club into it? Somehow, the East Coast media loves to absolve Beltran yet blame other Astros who had little or nothing to do with the cheating. It was Carlos who hatched the scheme to begin with.

Speaking as a Yankee fan, Beltran will never get my vote for the hall. Why? Well it’s because of his tenure as a “special advisor” for my team after he retired as a player. I don’t really care that he cheated, I’m actually impressed with his efforts. What is that when he was an employee for the Yankees, he by all accounts did Jack shit, never telling the team of what he did and HOW my team could use his methods. In fact, some Yankee employees were suspicious of the amount of time Beltran spent with Alex Cora whenever the red Sox’s and Yankees met. He choose not to help the team who HIRED him, he choose to let the Astros keep that advantage. That to me breaks his integrity.
