Want to know how I make these videos (For free & in less than 1 hour!)? I just made a Skillshare class going through my whole process: www.skillshare.com/r/profile/Paddy-Galloway/628248968
Galloway is a genius... He synced his analysis of Casey almost to the hour with Casey's Emirates 1st class cabin review... The last cabin review Casey made was one of his most successful videos ever, so by releasing this video now, Galloway can ride the wave of Casey attention on RU-vid and get more views...brilliant!
Drew Snow is a genius, he wrote this comment complimenting Galloway because he knew that, by complimenting him, he would like the comment and it would be shown way above the others.... brilliant!
Daily vlogging is extremely hard unless you're a full-time RU-vidr. And it's extremely hard to be a full-time RU-vidr without daily vlogging. Ah.. the RU-vid conundrum.
Thought this was click bait at first. Totally wrong. This video delivers on its promise. An awesome summary of one of the pioneers of the creative industry. Bravo, Paddy. Keep up the great work. 🙏🏻
Love the content Paddy! Keep breaking it down for us, it really helps as a fellow RU-vidr to see what the big guys have done successfully in such a nice, clear video. I expect your channel will grow massively!
*I'm really glad & grateful for your channel and you doing those videos!! Was stunned by the insides of the first one and loving this as well!! THANK YOU PADDY!!! Keep the great analysis!*
@@rossfromsa yeah but the whole 5000 subs and whatever other bs is something that he'd had for years before monetizing, as if what current requirements are is even relevant.
I just wanted to say that was awesome!! I am a huge Casey fan and I appreciate that you did not show his daughter or son in your video. You did this with such class and you hit all the main points. I can't wait to see what you put out next!! Keep up the great work!
I decided to watch those ads in the middle of this video to support Paddy. Clearly he wants to repeat to achieve the same success as those he is analyzing. So hope I can help in some small way as he deserves it
1. Habit of breaking things 2. Creativity over money 3. Small fan based but failed 4. Daily vlog - habit formation, part of their routine - creates strong relationships - understand how the character feels 5. Daily story telling - set up - conflict - resolution 6. Supporting Character - people around wife, delivery - places - tech review 7. Camera shot - handheld - urgency - tripod - highlight - established shot 8. Ethos - diy feel - no color grade - lighting & compo - focus on footage first 9. Personality - energetic - positivity - inspiring - speaking out his mind, nothing to hide
VERY well done! This broke down a lot of integral parts of Casey's work and helped to allow others to visualize it all. The time, effort, and structure of this is on par. Wonderful job.
Great video Paddy and great value! Look forward to seeing future videos! Out of curiosity, after seeing the benefit from a daily vlog, is it something you’ve considered yourself and what’s your personal view on it? Thank you!
Simon Wilson I think it takes a certain sort of person to be able to vlog really well, I don't think I'm that person (yet) ! Thank you for the nice comment !
Paddy I'm so impressed. This is the second video of yours that I've watched, and you've turned me into a subscriber (of course) but more than that - into a real fan. I've been watching Casey for 2 years now, but you showed me things I had overlooked entirely. Well done - and can't wait to see more. (Being the subject of one of your videos is now my new success metric! LOL)
Thank you for showing me how much planning and story telling ability it takes for Casey to produce a captivating video. I never realized the number of elements necessary to make an enthralling video.
I enjoy what you’re making here mate. Your peter video was solid and informative. This one was strong as well. It’s not easy subject matter to tackle either, very heady as they say. Great stuff though. Keep on! Ps: I would like to see you break down The Logan Brothers. Not because I’m a fan (I’m not) but I would like to see how their rise to youtube power differs from both peter and Casey. (Logan brothers have a marketing agency behind them) for one thing.
Saskatoon Sky Yeah I hate those guys but I just wanna know why do they excel at this and are they really that good ? And love that Peter McKinnon video that was awesome!!
Nice break down of Casey's video style. I'm a big fan of his videos, like everyone but you helped dissect what he does in his videos. Much appreciated, keep up the great work! Jason Bolte
Fantastic video..I just started watch Casey a few months ago and I'm currently up to January 2016 on his vlog. I've watched a few of his current vlogs too like today's. I watch more of his vlog than I do regular TV now. He's a genius...
I think one the of things that make him so likable is that he is always leading, always taking action, always loving some kind of practical problem.. He is never passive, never a slave to a schedule or a given situation. Just like any main character in a good story, he takes the lead. People like these are extremely rare. Most people prefer to lay back, follow, and just adapt to a situation, rather than drive things forward. In the end, Casey is above all a doer, and that is what makes his daily adventures worth watching. Oh, and the NYC background helps too.
@@SpartanUruk its true tho, he is ugly as fuck but so is lots of people such as RTGame and shit. Don't get offended that people are pointing out a fact.
Dude, lot of people watch him and love him because of his face and his character. Don't be jealous, he deserves it because he is very passionate and dedicated.
Daily vlogging is good when you dont have a boring life, a filming skill like casey, how to make a story for your vlogs, a lot of friends, and you’re in NYC
Well you just earned a new subscriber. Crazy that just today I was going to send a message to a new RU-vid because he only uploads once or twice weekly or less. I figured that there was a correlation with daily vlogs and habit forming etc since I just today I was telling my wife how it sucks that you get used to watching your favorite RU-vidrs daily vlogs and when they break that pattern you just don't feel right for the day lol. It literally feels like when you follow a daily vlog that you really know the person . I am well aware that is not really the case but that is what makes it appealing to most of us I believe.
For sure! I'm pretty intrigued by the rate of Logan Pauls channel to one of the largest channels on RU-vid.. Would be an interesting watch which I'm sure others maybe interested in.
The Fitness Journals LLC Casey had already done a video about all his secrets before the author made this video. Author just retold Casey's video. Thief! Search the video "how to vlog like casey nestat"

great analysis! when you spoke of characters, it gave me something new to think about regarding the vlogs. i hadn't thought about that before so thanks for that!
okay weve seen youre good at studying those who are killing it on youtube, can you please do one on FunForLouis why his subscribers aren't growing that much
I love the way you did this. I was very absorbed in the story and then thought....how is he showcasing his channel and realized just how much hard work went into this 1 video. So thank you.
man, it would be so COOL to release daily content like that! I have a challenging situation - I am a songwriter and musician at heart - writing and playing music is my dream job - but I also work (more than) full-time on my income-producing business, my "day job" that keeps me insanely busy paying the rent and employees!! I want to make more music, share more awesome content, blow people's minds and make them enjoy life and also share what I'm doing ... Neistat is a brilliant example! But, I'll have to go back to the drawing board and figure out how I can release quality AND quantity... especially since I'm no filmmaker, and music is my field not video... Maybe I can put my entrepreneurship experience to good use and hire a small, creative team to help me make videos and grow my channel?? Ideas... ideas...
yoooo actually this very channel introduced me to Peter mckinnon, who's vlogs featured Casey lately, and I've now been watching Casey vlogs non stop and wanted to see how did it and brought me here! and then I got right back into Casey vlogs haha
Been watching Casey for a few years myself. Your analysis is SPOT ON. There will not be another Casey Neistat. Everyone imitates him pretty much. Casey’s new project 368 will become huge. Mark my word.
Really interesting video, thanks! I've been following Casey for a couple of years now & I really enjoy his output! He deserves success for the sheer amount of work that he puts in!
Been a long time since a channel forced me to subscribe. Your content is truly in depth and tangible in our lives. With so much click-bait out here, its refreshing to see quality content makers having a resurgence. Continue to create, inspire and educate. You will surely be a prominent channel in no time.
Please Do a video about Joana Ceddia , Emma Chamberlain I am binge watching your content and its really good , I am planning on opening a new channel so it really helps me out.
10:13 This has been such a brilliant presentation. The way you broke it down and the illustrations are just wonderful. I love how you point out something I wouldn't have even noticed: the city, the studio, and the equipment as characters in themselves. Fascinatin' and good advice, this feels like a very concise yet dense writer's workshop, really enjoying your work!
Well... HE did change the Vlog aspect but the rest no. Gamer, unbosoming and more still do the same what what do and not like casy the titol of the vid it just click bait :I
King_Andriy yeah getting everyone to start vlogging and focusing more on quality is definitely changing RU-vid. RU-vidrs use drones nowadays and cool camera techniques and reference him when they do it. He is definitely the best quality vloggers and top 3 most subbed on RU-vid.
I have analyzed Casey over and over and I always come up with something new. He is the real deal! Thanks for a great video! So well put together and insightful!
Just browsing through RU-vid, and discover this vlog. I must say, that it's one of the best explanations as to why Casey Neistat has set the bar at a new level on daily vlogging on RU-vid. Well thought out and well presented, kudos to you for taking the time and effort in putting this together... Great Vlog...
I'm glad I stumbled on your channel Paddy. After watching only 2 of your vids, I am about to do something I've not done yet on RU-vid - click the bell so I'm sure to get a notice every time you release another of your brilliant analysis. Thanks for a great effort.
Absolutely love your channel. Excellent idea and you do a wonderful job of explaining everything with both your graphics, format, and speech. Keep it up!
Hi Paddy ! Great video! Very informative, intelligent and easy to understand. Something else I notice is that Casey's videos, have good sound production, the soundtracks are great, his oral delivery is spot on, and clear, I understand every word he says !
Very informative video Paddy. Lot's that I didn't know about Neistat. One thing you may have added is the fact that Casey not only didn't go to college but that he dropped out of high school. He is proof that everyone does not need a college degree to succeed. Thanks for doing this video.
Very nice breakdown of Casey's video style; he's one of the most down-to-Earth RU-vidrs on this platform, doesn't fake his personality in order to please the masses.
I Have been a big fan and subscriber to Casey's channel for a while, but I can literally say man: This was top-notch. Keep it up bro, next time you should try Dan Mace.
Fantastic explanation video. I am going to show your video to my High School communications classes next semester. We are doing several social media, personal branding projects... documenting their interests and passions through vlogging, podcasting and blogging. I appreciate your insights and your ability to reduce a complex reality and subject down to a very clear and informative video. Good work !
This is a very good video. You absolutely hit the nail on the head with the whole Casey Neistat approach to RU-vid and make it sound very simple. It’s getting all the things together though as you say which makes the Casey Neistat channel such a success. Thanks for uploading this video.
great video. there is also big example of this in music scene, Joel Zimmerman, deadmau5. he was one of the first edm music artists to stream his work and he has the strongest fans in edm.
