@@Dakarai_Knight Most decent state flagships can set you up better if you have no connections. I know good state schools like UW:Madison, University of Minnesota:Twin cities, UChicago, UT:Austin etc all have some standout programs that are way better than the ivies. Esp. In technology and engineering.
@@eksprolek2924 because optimism is a form of self-delusion and avoidance that often leaves you woefully unprepared when a bad situation actually comes. Don't get me wrong, it is important to feel gratitude in the good times but not left unchecked. Negative emotions are important for survival reasons.
In Asia the best colleges are mostly govt funded and in these colleges if you happen to have lower income, most of your fees will be forgiven and paid by the govt the only downside is, the administration is really strict with everything and if you slack off too much you will be left in dust by your classmates leading to depression edit: As the term Asia is quite big, i meant countries like India, china, Japan etc
Yup that last sentence pretty much sums up the whole of Asia's educational system.. Slack off even a little and someone will take over especially in the top colleges
hey, at least you have the opportunity though. I had a friend who was a straight A/B student in highschool with like a 3.5 GPA, but he had to take loans out just to pay for a public college and ended up owing close to $30,000 in debt after he finished college. He didnt get scholarships to help him pay for it. And I was only able to go to college cuz I had a 3.8 GPA and skipped a grade as well as being the highest performing math student all 3 years I spent in my school for several math tournament things our school used to do. And thats the only reason I was able to get scholarships to go to college. Its incredibly expensive here, and debt forgiveness basically never happens. And even worse, you cant even declare bankruptcy on Student Debt so you're stuck with it forever.
Is Asia a cool Land? Can I come to visit once? I mean one guy even comment "Yeah in Russia..." so back on track, where is this country your speaking off?
“You got into USC” I’m from South Carolina so this really confused me cause our University of South Carolina isn’t exactly an amazing schools and then I was like oh yeah, the smart USC.
Look it up. Some celebrity's daughter got into a good college by getting accepted onto their rowing team... but she had never rowed before. So there was this scandal where she pretended to be a rower to get into college.
@@tehsinahaq2974 we are a great nation full of all kinds of wonderful people. but not because of the people at the top that take power to rule over us they're overpowered minority with far-reaching control of outcomes. it's great because of all the little people that actually get up everyday and make the world a little better by their kindness and little power to make society better everyday. it's hard to do so and it gets away from us at times. they' re everywhere you look where a rich man isn't planning the next needless war conflict to escalate and pit our children them against
And there's thousands of college graduates that are still working low wage jobs. Your point? Life is about luck, chances, and working hard. There's no "this is better than this" option to life.
*didn't study at all in the SAT and passed with a high score* *studies for the ACT and fails epically* (This actually got me the attention of the school and they thought I cheated.) No, the Florida SAT is just not boring af and the same stories throughout middle and high school. Yes, some of you remember those terrible stories.
The is obviously fake, a rich kid wouldn’t be having these photo’s taken of them, they would pay someone else to do it, then pay someone else to photoshop themself in
