I think a man has to be selfless to be able to practice the real polygamy according to Islamic law

I think of it like this. You must be selfless if you agree to have/agree to let other party to have other wives/husbands. Like you pour all of yourself out to the other partners and they return you the same, trust each other, think for each other to the point that you don't think of yourself at all because the others already think for you. Sounds impossible isn't it? So does "happy polygamy" :)

Since its almost impossible for most men to be equally disposed and just to multiple women i.e. there will almost be favoritism, and also mostly would be used to _justify_ Lust, I must say allowing such a provision for everyone following a faith shows *bad design* in part of its creator. There is a need for some *serious revision* in this religion w.r.t. aspects e.g. treatment of kafirs, death for apostates & blasphemers, polygamy, halala... otherwise its presence becomes a serious threat by providing *religious sanction* to lots of humanely _immoral_ activities

@@Shutra he was fair to them and responsible and treated them equally. You will always have someone especial to your heart and he married Aisha at a young age so she was special but still no one of his other wives ever complained about being treated less. It is like a mother with three children for example, of course the youngest will have a special place, it will be harder to say no to him or her. 😄

@@Shutra I think you don't understand the difference between having a favourite and being fair, you could love one of your kids more than the other because the listen to you and help you more than the others but that doesnt mean you will treat them diffenent from the others , or you have a favourite friend or employee , you could be responsible for more than one person in your life and have a favourite but at the same time give equal shares to everybody whether it's time or money , and that's wat the prophet ment wen he said Aisha was his favourite, he still spent one night with each wife and didn't give her more time or money than the other wives , I hope this gives you a better explanation. :)

Doesn't it say somewhere in the Hadith that it's impossible to be fair to more that three wives? I seem to remember that from somewhere.

I don't think this video is misleading, they never say that legal polygamy is easy to do. and as you say, it's pretty hard to do polygamy legally, and most polygamy aren't recorded. and it's pretty common to do 'illegal' polygamy in some religious area. some people are just denial and it's hard to proof that it's common because as you say, most of them aren't recorded. :)

@@er3275 both of them , the wives was bestfriend from childhood . The doctor one as first wive was his first love . Both first wive and husband was in orphanage in old past , the 2nd wive move out to spain when she graduate from elementary , the 3rd wive move out to central city to get in prestige school and then they were got seperated , and the 1st wife and husband both doing their best to get scholarship in highschool but the first wive got the best one and then the husband had to give it up and doing part time job instead to support first wive money , of course we know how lovely their passion and take care each other but they are never date at all , i actually got crush on her since she also the most beautiful one in my school that time . After many year passed , 1st became an doctor , the husband still doing spinless job , BUT the turning point is when the 5 including me open up reunion plan and we meet again after so long . After that i found out that is the 2nd and 3rd wive confess that the dude was their first love , i take that as joke actually but future said different , 4 of them get married

ikr. I'm Indonesian and I dont know it is legal. I don't like how this interview was asked to people with low-middle income/class. And there are 5 religion in Indonesia, they only asked 1 specific religion. So it doesn't represent Indonesia as a whole. I had a driver in Batam who was the son of the 9th wife. His father had something like 36 children. He was about 28 and his oldest sibling was in his 50's. The family was from the Medan area. While in central Java I met a number of people who had more than one wife. It wasn't common, and often the 2nd wife was much younger and poorer than the first wife.

First and foremost, it is NOT a must to marry more than 1 in MUSLIM community. It is NOT compulsory. But if anyone chooses to marry and both are willing (including first wife allows) plus treat all fairly, then it is allowed by the state. In general there are more women population in this world than man. This gives all women a chance to get married if a man is willing to be responsible for her too. So this is how it is.
