Sometimes they’ll be able to play the victim (complaining about woke mobs silencing critics), while banning the teaching or even discussion of anything other than America is great and has always been great, and that racism doesn’t exist or maybe existed at one time (some bad people had some bad ideas once) but that is all over now. Bringing mostly astroturfed mobs into school board meetings to complain and ban books.

It's honestly shocking how similar broader cultural trends is to interpersonal abuse, very often the abuser will claim to be the abused because the victim spoke up about their actions even though the abuser themselves often constantly blamed the victim for things they never did. It's literally what's happening here, conservatives are claiming to be the victim of cancel culture because people are now using their freedom of speech and organization to criticize the elite and conservative institutions even though they themselves have always supported literal actual censorship, as in the state making certain ideas illegal, and not only that they currently have an active campaign to ban certain ideas from school, ideas that were never even present in those schools in the first place, and they believe that in this instance they're the victim because these ideas criticize racism. I probably don't even have to specify which ideas I'm talking about because this is definitely gonna happen again in 10 years.

@@reform-revolution Communists have always been THE most principled and consistent anti-war advocates, even when other leftists were pro-war like the Social Democrats (SPD) in Germany during WW1 who voted in the German Parliament along with all the bourgeois parties to fund the war, it was the communists like Lenin and the Bolsheviks and like minded German communists (Karl Liebknecht, Rosa Luxemburg) who remained staunch opponents of all imperialist wars regardless whether they were portrayed as "defensive" or "patriotic". As a result social democrats unleashed far right proto-fascist death squads on the communists and anarchists to murder them. The lesson here is: Communists have been consistently on the right side of history, don't trust social democrats, or so-called "progressives" or "democratic socialists", they are opportunists who will pretend to be on the side of the working class but when push comes to shove will stab you in the back and side with the imperialist bourgeoisie.

Because most of the cancelling today has been from the left because anyone with a different opinion on things such as abortion, feminism, LGBT is immediately mocked and told to apologize. Some of the earlier videos went really hard with using different blue vs orange colors as code for the working class vs the capitalist class, it was really fun doing a close watch to interpret the language. Wish they stuck to that style more closely.

Short takes are good idk your age but my generation is only capable of watching short videos. they hop around and pick up incomplete information and make shitty memes. which is why there has been so much misinformation these last few years. You'd be surprised how many people get "news" directly from memes it genuinely makes me sad.

There's nothing impressive about this video. It basically points out that people who lead powerful institutions tend to be intolerant. Who cares if that includes conservatives. Stopping infringements on due process no matter who commits them should be the focus.

How little of a life do you have if that’s how you spend your time? But getting in hot water for being a jackass on social media is nothing new, and its not something that happens only to conservatives. All the way back in the MySpace days I read stories about teachers who would grumble on their page about bratty students and lose their job for it, or idiots who called in sick and then posted pictures of themselves on a beach, or even about women who lost their jobs and got kicked out of their church because someone found the webcam show they were running as a side hustle. It’s less a political thing than just people needing to get it through their heads that it’s not a private journal and other people do see what you put there.

Playing the numbers game of who killed more people is very counterproductive in my opinion. Especially when it leads you to dismiss any political idea outright just by being associated by something bad. My reasoning for disliking Conservatism and Fascism doesn't solely rely on body-counting, there's other, more compelling reasons to be against it. Heck you could argue that Capitalism has a higher death toll than Socialim, but I don't really like to argue in those terms, and most academics don't either. Of course it's a lot more difficult to discredit Socialism when you can't rely on body counting, but I'll give you a chance to try.

Socialism is the Working Class having control over the means of production, such as factories, infrastructure, media corporations, basically everything that the ruling class currently uses to restrict our lives and seeks to keep us poor and weak. I want everyone to be able to keep what they produce without a surplus taken from them for the profit of others, while also working for the betterment of society. That is equity and everyone having a shot to be materially well off while also being provided with healthcare and education provided by society as a whole. I don't really care if everyone has literally the same amount of stuff and neither does anyone who has looked deeply into Marxism. What we want to abolish is the antagonistic nature of having to work for someone else and having a portion of your labor value taken from you just to survive. And we want a fair distribution of fundamental things that everyone needs to survive. Like how is it that we produce food to feed 10 billion people right at this moment but we still have millions of people dying from hunger? It's because it is not profitable to give food to those who most need it (and god forbid, if they did have food provided to them, they wouldn't have to keep working and could just get by for a while without it, thus being able to demand better working conditions and we wouldn't want that would we? ) and Capitalism only incentivizes profit, nothing else. Under the current system, millions of people are killed and exploited every single year. You would need so many attempts of revolution to even come close to how many die currently. If you really look into it, Socialism has the capacity to materially and substantially improve people's lives. Russia was still a backwater before the Russian Revolution, many people were still illiterate peasants. Only 40 years later, they could already compete with the US in several areas such as space travel, average calorie intake of the population, science, education, etc. Socialism has proven to materially benefit millions and perhaps even billions of people. Now I don't want to make excuses for every bad thing that happened under previous attempts at Socialism for instance (just like you hopefully don't want to make excuses for the suffering inflicted under the current system), but Marxism inherently follows the Scientific method of trying to look at what works and what doesn't and trying to constantly improve and to examine previous failures. If you want to criticize, then criticize, but you cannot do so appropriately without reading up on some of the concepts and core tenets of Marxism and looking at it with an open mind.
