Vader never lost drive to succeed Sidious. Dooku was okay with being second in command until the untimely death of his master, and possibly ultimately taking an king under his wing. Sidious could possibly read Anakin, having such a high midi count and raging drive to be better, as more useful qualities as the number two sith. There would be no Kylo Ren, not because Leia ever even met Han. @@TheKevtherev11 Dude look at vitiates empire. He managed to keep the sith in line for centuries and even instituted non force sensitive authority figures despite keeping a mostly hands off approach on the situation. Most sith empires last as long as the leading figure can go unchallenged and use their strength to keep the other siths in line. The new sith empire would have anakin, sidious and dooku as its heads making it extremely hard for anyone to step up against these powerhouses and seeing how each of this individuals had different interest they would have little need to face off against each other.
@aussiemenace6897
@aussiemenace6897 4 года назад
@@frking100 That's what I thought too dude. Like that video (which was a while ago) on the comic about sidious secretly creating the half-machine × half-force-sensitive abominations, unbeknownst to Vader, then sending Vader there to inspect them, Vader doesn't like them and I think the feeling was mutual, then they fight and as they're fighting Vader looks up to a catwalk and sidious is watching them. Then long story short, turns out sidious planned the whole thing to test them against Vader and even potentially replace him, which if I'm not wrong he tried on a few occasions. But yeah, so maybe the reason sidious wasn't interested in an army of Sith like Dooku is because he was aware of the rule of 2 and what he did to his master, and so was probably constantly worried about meeting the same fate.
@danielpierik6631

@alvi syahri Well you would think that would work, but in real time war, you cannot hope to best a nation that has a larger industrial base than you have. Even if your quality is better, their quantity will overwhelm you when it is of sufficient level. That is how the US won every war it has participated in since WOI, by simply overwhelming their enemies. The only time they outright failed was Vietnam and Iraq in the civil/guerilla war phase of those wars. so the fact that vitiate and Revan managed to keep their empires together against a far larger state, is more evidence that they were simply better emperors. how is it more convincing? sidious's plan was litterately Dooku's plan but with the added bonus of showing the Jedi Hypocrosy and how they don't really care about him or his secret lover and that he is just a ''soldier'' that should accept the death of the people he love because of ''the force'' in their eyes. Not to mention he made Anakin forsake his jedi teaching then and there when he killed Dooku a thing that tipped him more over to the dark side, and was almost a point of no return because he learned then and there that the Jedi way wasn't the right way or the only way because now atleast Dooku was dead and could never harm anyone ever again, it's largely why Anakin trust Palpatine so much and sees him as a figurehead that will actually get shit done and why he believes he needs him later on because he was proven right and if he was right about all the other shit then why wouldn't he be right about the abillity to actually save Padme besides in the eyes of Anakin Palpatine knowns about padme and his fears of loosing her but he actually seem to care, ofcourse it's just manipulation but well that just shows the merrits of his plan. @splaar
@splaar 4 года назад
Xenophobia and human centrism were actually quite common in that time period of galactic history, from the end of the Old Republic era through the Galactic Empire era. In the Darth Plagueis novel, it explains that the reason Plagueis himself never ran for political office is that he needed a human apprentice to be the face of his power, since it was virtually impossible at that point for any nonhuman to become the Supreme Chancellor. During the Empire era, thousands of nonhuman species were enslaved, while humans across the galaxy lived a life of relative comfort. To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if someone like Dooku were actually xenophobic and all things considered, I think it would fit his character quite well.

[Anakin hesitates] *Count Dooku:* Wake up Kenobi, I can't do anything [displays his stumps], leave Siddious restrained in his chair for the time being [Anakin looks confuse at the mention of Siddious], …Palpatine [Anakin realises who he meant]. If Palpatine breaks free you'll know he's a Sith Lord. Secure all the lightsabers - Kenobi's, so he can't summon one.… [Tired] And slap him awake. Oh I need a medical droid. *Supreme Chancellor:* We have to get off this ship, he's trying to trick you into staying put. Give Obi-Wan a stimulant to revive him, and a painkiller for me if you would be so kind. [Anakin waves his robotic hand at Dooku] Okay half a painkiller, cause this is double the hands. He wants Skywalker as his new Apprentice. *Obi-Wan Kenobi:* Is that true Anakin? *Anakin Skywalker:* It is my master, he told me to kill a unarmed prisoner. [Obi-Wan's eyes go wide in realisation…Anakin's jaw drops as it finally penetrates his thick head that he's been played all this time]. *Count Dooku:* Finally… now can I please get some painkillers. *Supreme Chancellor:* [Now speaking as Darth Siddious] Dammit… so be it. [Gestures and Dooku's sabre, now holstered on Anakin's belt, flies forward. But Anakin is able to grab it in time, both he and Kenobi activate their lightsabers. Darth Siddious's restraints fall away] *Darth Siddious:* Treason is it? No, you all died, only I managed to survive. I suppose I'll just have to settle for Ventress as my new Apprentice. Pity young Skywalker I had plans for you… such potential. [Force lightning leaps from Siddious's fingers and sends Obi-Wan flying back to be knocked senseless against a bulkhead, yet again. Siddious then turns his attention to Anakin as he has moved forward, but Anakin is able to block the Force lightning with both blades crossed. Anakin is inching slightly forward, but also being affected by glancing shocks. It's a stalemate, will Anakin be able to press ahead to strike down Siddious? Will Darth Siddious be able to overcome Anakin Skywalker with his dark power of Force lightni blaster bolts hit him straight in the heart]. *Obi-Wan Kenobi:* [throws the gun away] Uh! So uncivilized.

Darth Siddious momentarily forgets Count Dooku is disarmed not immobilised as he continues to assail Anakin with force lightening, and Obi-Wan still struggles to come to his senses. Dooku musters a final effort and pushes himself, with great effort, into a standing crouch near to Siddious. Count Dooku launches himself into a shoulder charge knocking Siddious off balance. Though the surprisingly agile Siddious manages to step aside and avoid being bodily knocked over [just as the daring Count tumbles into a roll off to his right], Siddious' lightening is no longer striking Anakin, giving the young Jedi a chance to advance further, almost within striking distance; As the deadly dark lord of the Sith rounds on Anakin and once again assails him with all his dark power! Dooku is practically incapacitated with pain, has no arms with which to use a weapon, yet he notices he is now closer to the where med-kit and the barely conscious Obi-Wan Kenobi now lay. Anakin still struggles against Siddious' destructive onslaught. Siddious intends to kill all in the this room in a fit of rage, especially Count Dooku. Will He succeed?

The novel also did a much better job in making Anakin's fall believable. The part of the novel, after the Jedi Council orders Anakin to betray Chancellor Palpatine by spying on him and reporting to the Council. It's Master Yoda, Mace Windu, and Obi-Wan in a gunship as Yoda's troops prepare to depart Coruscant for Kashyyyk. Obi-Wan confides that he believed it was a terrible mistake to order Anakin to spy on the Chancellor on behalf of the Order. Obi-Wan says: === He looked over at Yoda. "Master Yoda, you and I have been close since I was a boy. An infant. Yet if ending this war one week sooner--- one day sooner--- were to require that I sacrifice your life, you know I would." "As you should," Yoda said. "As I would yours, young Obi-Wan. As any Jedi would any other, in the cause of peace." "Any Jedi," Obi-Wan said, "except Anakin." Yoda and Mace exchanged glances, both thoughtfully grim. Obi-Wan guessed they were remembering the times Anakin had violated orders--- the times he had put at risk entire operations, the lives of thousands, the control of whole planetary systems--- to save a friend. More than once, in fact, to save Obi-Wan. "I think," Obi-Wan said carefully, "that abstractions like peace don't mean much to him. He's loyal to people, not to principles. And he expects loyalty in return. He will stop at nothing to save me, for example, because he thinks I would do the same for him." Mace and Yoda gazed at him steadily, and Obi-Wan had to lower his head. "Because," he admitted reluctantly, "he knows I would do the same for him." "Understand exactly where your concern lies, I do not." Yoda's green eyes had gone softly sympathetic. "Named must be your fear, before banish it you can. Do you fear that perform his task he cannot?" "Oh, no. That's not it at all. I am firmly convinced that Anakin can do anything. Except betray a friend. What we have done to him today..." "But that is what Jedi are," Mace Windu said. "That is what we have pledged ourselves to: selfless service---" Obi-Wan turned to stare once more toward the assault ship that would carry Yoda and the clone battalions to Kashyyyk, but he could see only Anakin's face. If he asked me to spy on you do you think I would do it? "Yes," he said slowly. "That's why I don't think he will ever trust us again." He found his eyes turning unaccountably hot, and his vision swam with unshed tears. "And I'm not entirely sure he should."

No way. Seriously Star Wars and Marvel are two ENTIRELY different franchises. We need to stop thinking that everything should mix because then that absolutely destroys the unique storys and universe within those franchises. Keep Thor on his side of the road and keep Vader on his side of the road.

Dooku seems to forget that revsn's army was a rare case. Most of the time the sith betrayed each other. They're always trying to grab more power. Also they are often times to arrogant to realize whos their superior.

In legends continuity, Dooku actually knew the full plan, and was aware his duel with Anakin was a duel to the death. It wasn't uncommon for Palpatine to test his apprentice's in this manner, as seen in the Maul comics made by dark horse, with "winner stays on" stakes, ensuring Palpatine always had the strongest apprentice possible. Dooku's choice was simple, win the duel, go on to be the right hand of the empire, or loose, and die, with Anakin becoming the new sith Apprentice.

The biggest flaw with his idea was that Anakin without ever being horribly damaged would if been far more powerful than Dooku and even palpatine so Dooku still would of died as there is no way Anakin would of served under him.

I always assumed that Dooku had good intentions, that he and Qui-Gon Jinn were 2 sides of the same coin--with his apprentice being more akin to a Grey Jedi and Dooku being a Grey Sith. I always assumed that Dooku's intentions with the Separatists were pure, that he believed Sideous would cause the Republic to crumble using the Clones to turn against the framed Jedi, forcing the Separatists to win and gain control of the galaxy, thus ending the seedy corruption that had slowly ensared the Republic and the feckless Jedi Order. That was my impression, anyway...

I'm sure Dooku thought so! But he was clearly not above quite a lot of 'ends justify the means', given his plan to lead the CIS then betray them wholesale... and the ends themselves seem more than a little questionable. Authoritarianism, xenocide, and theocracy. But it's easier to see him as some sort of twisted idealist, unlike Empy who seems to be one-dimensionally self-interested, and have no actual principles _whatsoever_.

Fun fact: Dooku was actually more afraid of living because his hands were cut off and was disgusted at the thought of being part machine for the rest of his life so maybe, in a twisted way, Papatine having him killed could've also been seen as a sign of graciousness for his services. Palpatine wanted the "Rule of 2"(glad he didn't want Rule 34), only, with *his* will living on through apprentice after apprentice after apprentice(for example, see Darth Zash in SWTOR, or Tenebre in KOTET). Basically, a twisting of Bane's rule. Dooku wanted a more Malgus deal. An emperor with an army of powerful warriors and soldiers. Both are dark(for light Sith, see Emperor Fel), but one embraced a more bureaucratic form of Sith, while the other embraced a more traditional way. To quote Koth(but with more sincerity): "Choices, choices."☺
