Question: There are several different versions of the FICO score. If memory serves, I also recall seeing a FICO version that had a separate mortgage FICO score. How can a borrower tell which version the lender uses? I ask because I once saw a pulled my credit report and score from Myfico.com and saw that one of the FICO versions had a separate mortgage FICO. The mortgage FICO was less than that versions general FICO score and less than the other version's scores (like FICO 7 or 8). When I asked a loan officer about it, he gave me a blank stare as if he was unaware of the various FICO scores. Was the loan officer supposed to know which FICO version his institution uses or should I have asked someone else? I'm confused!
