People think, that Dave can't play some really simple things on his guitar. But watch lives from RIP era. When Marty joined the band, Mustaine had to improve his skills and his playing was on point. Moreover, he wrote some great solos before RIP, solo from My Last Words is one of them
My last words is on of the best songs and solos ever… also there are versions on yt with drums and bass only… worth checking them out to hear what David and Gar are doing
He’s not my favorite guitar player but I dig the aggressive alternate picking and his vibe. He’s not a Shrapnel 80’s neoclassical shredder but I think he can play more than a lot of people give him credit for. I saw him play on the Experience Hendrix and he nailed all the songs he played on.
I don't think dave has ever swept in a solo lol. It's always fast picking licks and bends from memory. I do like daves solos. His many accompanying guitarist add taste and melodic licks than dave just shreds. Correct me if im wrong but that's how I see it. You always know when he's soloing lol. They're not bad. They're just dave.
@@jmaynez2332Yes he has, there's literally videos of him playing clean. Lamb of god covers wake up dead with a 60 yr old dave and he plays the outro solo pretty damn clean. SO STOP THE FUCKING BULLSHIT

Dave Mustaine is the definition of a thrash metal guitarist. Metallica has 4 great records,the first 4 and Dave wrote many of those songs.
