No sir, I don't like it! I'm sure it had it's place, but I would rather have something that's just a stool. The fact of taking the guitar stand in and out especially once screws get involved actually seems inconvenient, but that's just me. Maybe a built it foot stand? Idk?
If I had Joe as a teacher. I could play too. But were not all that lucky. Thats life. Vai is too advanced for earth. Satriani has the worlds best touch.
Speaking for myself, I was very surprised to see where I learned to hold the pick a certain way. It was Mr. Hetfield. I prefer the oversized John Petrucci triangle Dunlops. My picking style really meshes with the pick size and shape. And honestly I love the "large" size because I find it effortless to tap with, almost as if it, the pick, was an extension of my hand/fingers. Say what you want, but the tone IS in the fingers. I've been able to do "pinches" that my band mates couldnt replicate. Simply put, there's no "right" or "wrong" technique. If you find something that works for you and only you, keep making it work. "SRV" didn't have a "proper" picking technique, neither did Hendrix nor Page... "picking style" doesn't AND SHOULDNT matter. If you've put in the practice hours, it'll show in the playing.
