I heard another person say it also fits because homelander never had to work for anything in his life or put effort into anything. Hence why he uses the lazerbeam so much because it's the easiest option for him.
@@khufu8642 yeah and as they’re just products for the public Homelander likely isn’t that buff, it’s probably just muscle padding built into the suit which is kinda sad lmao
It's how it is in the comics too because Homelander can't train his muscles so it's honestly perfect I certainly agree with you I think that makes the fact he brought up Cavill without knowing the character as a stereotypical kind of guy to play a hero is ironic and funny.
The directors looked at his audition video and then said while green lighting him as homelander "Right there! That's our psychopathic superhero! Get me Antony Starr!!" He is literally amazing at playing the role of homelander this is his role!!!
God has a plan because this is the BEST CASTING I'VE SEEN IN A LONG TIME. It's like when people say Robert Downey was born to play Iron Man & same with him.
He is on a different level people don’t understand how hard it is to play a character Like that with that much depth and to nail it in real life you wouldn’t even think it’s him he acts so different
He is really perfect for Homelander. He is a good looking guy but generates so much hatred in the audience because of how he effortlessly fits in as the Anti-Hero
@@mananchaturvedi6173 Yeah he is probably an anti-villian. He is not evil just to be evil, but does evil things because "he is a product of his environment."
he is most definitely not an anti-hero, he's the straight up villain / antagonist who does nothing for anyone but himself but he is literally not a hero in any shape or form anti or otherwise
He was a Cop who beat the shit out of people. Then he became a Supe manchild who wants to be loved and is a psychotic monster. And he will make his MCU debut as Dracula in the upcoming Mahershala Ali Blade movie. Id say Anthony Starr is only getting started
I thought the EXACT same thing. The first interview I watched with him in it (with no prior context) he immediately gave me that homelander vibe. I know that facsimile of a smile he does well, I do it all the time myself when I feel uncomfortable. He's probably a self aware sociopath or narcissist who doesn't like his nature. He reminds me a lot of myself actually
i cannot think of a single person who could do a better job portraying the sociopathy and narcissism of homelander, starr deserves a nobel prize for this role
"Hey, you look great for this character, maybe you could play him, you'd nail it" "F*ck off i'm busy" "Dang bro, you didn't have to convince me any further, you're a natural"
Mans literally said "Im so done with them asking me so Imma send them a shitty audition so I dont have to hear from them again" And not only Got the role after but ended up embracing it. What a perfect backfire 😂
Director: So have you read the script we sent you? Anthony Starr: No. Leave me alone. I'm Anthony Starr and I can do whatever the fuck I want. Director: Ok you got the role!
He's so good at playing homelander to the point that i only root for him and whatever he wants to do in the show but at the same time terrified of what he could possibly do
I do wish that he was as physically buff as the character is is the books, but he’s got the personality down so perfectly I can’t really see anyone else doing the role now. He IS Homelander!
his physique is perfect for homelander because it makes sense when your super strong most things aren't a physical struggle so your not gonna have huge muscles, he'd probably have to bench buildings to get stronger and bigger
Remember that scene where Homelander lasers a guy and people start cheering for him and he has this confused look. Guess that was his reaction when he was casted when he didnt even try
