I feel like I missed out something about my name, which is quite important: Calling myself Daot is not wishing bad luck on myself, but instead recognising that we all have our brokenness, but through our own defects we can create something positive and something awesome. We can turn bad, broken, defective into good! *What's next? Let's see how it goes.*
Dont be sad when life is hard..this pandemic the whole world suffers everyone has flaws and mistakes..but i see your skills and talent shine during bad times..Filipinos support you
I hope you can employ a couple of Ducks (3 to 5) just to eliminate those giant worms eating your tiny fish in your pond. Ducks are an effective way on eliminating worm infestations but never put them together with your small fish as they will eat them too. Large fish and ducks are good together just for the ducks to continue cleaning out the worms in the pond.
Thanks for documenting your journey both professionally and personally. A lot of bloggers only show the glossy side of their lives. Sharing your struggles helps viewers especially now in the pandemic. You’re a natural storyteller and your editing skills are developing nicely. Sending positive vibes to you.
That’s why we love you Kumander Daot because of who you are! A genuine authentic sweet and generous loveable fuzz ball. In the Philippines we call it “Hindi plastic na Tao, isang tutuo”. We will continue to follow your exciting adventures here in NY. Daot na!
Despite all your struggles and failed businesses I still think you have done really well. Keep going, you'll get there in the end. The Filipino smiles and positivity will help you get through.
You are meant to meet Kulas and be a vlogger! I am very impressed with your videos, the music, the timing. I think this is where you will make money! Keep doing more videos, they are entertaining. You should travel more and explore the Philippines.
In hindsight, you’re not alone in your fishpond fiasco. Many years ago, I went into prawn farming. The prawn farm had to be guarded by honest workers or close relatives. During harvesting, each styrofoam box filled with tiger prawns had to be closely guarded. A box siphoned away would be quite a loss. Then, when the weather was rough, I would worry that there might be a typhoon, the fishpond would be flooded, and the prawns washed away. My son would say, “Mom, aloha oe.” [Goodbye prawns]. Although I made money, I decided to withdraw from prawn farming. I thought, there’s surely other less stressful ways of making money. I concentrated on my communication science work where I was more fulfilled and happy.
Well done Kumander! You've come a long way in your style of vlogging. Nice edits and transitions. Your story telling skills rock. Keep up the great work.

I liked your historical vlogs in Wales. I think that the Philippines offers just as much historical times that many Filipinos may not even know about their country. You have many talents just take the leaps of faith to see you through. Do not give up on your hopes and dreams and always remember you have a strong lady behind you that together you can accomplish anything you do!
What a great dream you have provided for us who aren't brave enough to take the risk. You’ve shown what we're missing. Yes there will always be bumps in the road. But you show many more good times even through all the struggles. Thank you for leading the way our friend komander. May we continue to enjoy your adventure!!
In Heathrow... In flip flops.... Kumander daot epitomized... Lol... Thank you for explaining what 'daot' means.. . Simply living life without prejudices... Be free... Stay free... Mabuhay ka KUMANDER DAOT!
Daot actually means skinny in Cebuano... Daotan means bad or ruined. But this isn't really about semantics, Kumander. Whatever you put your heart into, you can make it manifest despite what others say or think. It isn't what they think that matters. It is what you think is true and right for you. That lady that told you not to keep on going with your fish farm gave her opinion. Ultimately, it is what is in your heart that matters. So, let it matter. Whatever it is that you set your heart on. You are the master of your ship, in fact, you are the Kumander!
Im Cebuano, daot could mean “niwang walay kaon” or broken “guba” it depends how you apply in the sentence or which part of visayas you live. It differs.
This is the first time I learned about your story. Thanks for sharing this affecting and beautiful story. I first came to know about your channel when you were cooking Filipino food in Wales, not knowing that you lived years in the Philippines (and in Davao, one of my favorite places on earth). You seem to be a very carefree, adventurous, and happy person, which does not jive with your having BPD, but I hope things go well again on your next chapter in life, and that your return to the Philippines will be more meaningful and successful. Cheers!
you are the real deal, maybe daot (as you claimed) but an amazing and interesting individual to meet! you power on, kumander! don’t give up on life when your illness hits you. we all have our demons, but we all can persevere!

Indeed, Kumander Daot, scarred people are beautiful. There's a lot of courage in being vulnerable. When there's brokenness, there's also a breakthrough. I've been following you since you first met Kulas and I've seen how you have transformed into a beautiful being. You're a real champion because you don't allow negativity to push you down, but you rechannel all your energy to something worthwhile. You're an awesome storyteller and cinematographer. I enjoy and learn a lot by watching your vlogs. Keep on!
Wow! You are truly an inspiring influencer by showing us how to stay positive and useful by not going Idle in a forced mobile stop like quarantine. Yeah, you showed us that there are available materials within our reach to utilize to stay productive when mobility is limited...and bring good vibes, what an inspiration Kumander D.

Hi KD, I'm a long time subscriber to Kulas, which is how I "met", "learned of", "came across" you (that was all so badly put). I thought you were funny, goofy, good natured and immature. You made for good RU-vid. I found your attempts at the fish pond brave and admirable. As it progressed I got worried. I'm rooting for you to succeed. Then when you took a hiatus and went back to Wales I honestly didn't think you'd go back to Davao. But surprisingly, your editing skills skyrocketed and your videos have become so much more thoughtful and interesting. I think you are a terrific storyteller. I hope this progresses into something meaningful and enjoyable for you. It's hard to be young (which I am no longer) and trying to find your way (even I don't think I've done that for myself). But you might've stumbled onto something here. I wish you good mental and emotional health. Keep up with the narrations, they are heartfelt and genuine.
