Nancy Wilson IS a rock goddess. The camera man was just keen enough to capture it

This is a great rock band that started in the 70's. Ann Wilson has one of the most powerful female voices. And her sister Nancy can play a mean guitar. They have had so many great hits such as "Barracuda", "Magic Man", "What About Love", "Never", "Dog & Butterfly", "These Dreams", "Alone" etc. In 2012 Ann & Nancy performed at the Kennedy Center Honors in a tribute to Led Zeppelin doing their classic song "Stairway To Heaven".

Linda Ronstadt is one you really need to check out. She had a range comparable to Jeff Castellucci. Blue Bayou was my favorite and was done in her lower range. I didn't know she could sing 1st Soprano until I heard her in a production of the Pirates of Penzance. Yes she did some Broadway too. The cast was on a float in the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade and she sang one of her numbers from the musical and blew me away. Somewhere on the net that has to be here.

This was for the Kennedy Center Honors Led Zeppelin were one of the honorees that year. BTW the drummer on stage is the son of Led Zeppelin's deceased drummer. The group had asked him to sit with them and he said he had a gig he couldn't turn down.

Heart was formed in 1967 by lead guitarist Roger Fisher and bassist Steve Fossen. In 1970, they auditioned for a new lead vocalist, and Ann Wilson showed up. They immediately hired her. Her sister, Nancy, joined Heart in 1974. Even though most of the media attention was focused on Ann & Nancy, Heart was an actual 6 member band.

For something related, Ann Wilson has a duet with David Draiman and Disturbed called Don’t Tell Me Now. It’s a fantastic power ballad! I saw Heart live in 1977 at Nelson’s Ledges state park in Ohio. One of the best concerts of my misspent youth!

Dagmar gave you the same list of songs I came here to do, but you might enjoy Ann Wilson’s (dark haired sister of Heart) collaboration with Disturbed on their song “Don’t Tell Me.” The way Ann’s voice pairs with David Draiman’s is incredible! I don’t know if anyone mentioned that Ann and Nancy (blond) are sisters.

Ann Wilson is one of the most powerful iconic vocalists in rock. Her sister Nancy Wilson can also sing but is ranked as one of the best female acoustic guitarists. Their best band line up is their first, when they were a progressive rock band. In the 80's, they were recreated as more of a pop rock band under corporate direction. They had some great hits, but it was less about putting out great albums and more about putting out pop hit songs. Some 70's songs to check out include: "Crazy On You" "Barracuda" "Magic Man" "Love Alive" "Nada One" "Sing Child" "Heartless" "Without You" (Badfinger cover) "Cry to Me" "Say Hello" "Straight On" "Dog & Butterfly" "Mistral Wind"

Heart is one of the best bands to exist. They are amazing. They are sisters, Ann and Nancy Wilson. Ann usually sings lead. Nancy also has an amazing voice and plays the hell out of the guitar. She does the guitar solo in the beginning. Other great songs of theirs are Alone, These Dreams, Magic Man, What About Love. As others have said, they did a great tribute to Led Zeppelin at the Kennedy Center Honors with Stairway to Heaven. When you watch it, make sure it's the video that's 8 min long. The other videos cut out some of the guitar solo.

Almost Famous is an Academy Award winning movie from writer/director Cameron Crowe. Most of the music was written by NANCY Wilson (who was married to Crowe at the time). I don't know who told you women in rock were treated poorly in the 70s. All through middle and high school we had posters of Ann and Nancy on our walls. Heart was often spoken about in the same way that Led Zeppelin were. And long before Heart was Janis Joplin, Grace Slick and so many others. People weren't so narrow-minded and pig headed as the social media age. I saw all the names I mentioned in the 70s and so many more. Never in my life did I hear the things your friend told you. There were rock gods and goddesses. Don't perpetuate that misinformation.

Ann and Nancy Wilson were hella respected in the 70's up to now. Women weren't considered or called Lesbians if they were rockers, I don't know who told you that---but if they were, more power to them! I was 11 when this album came out and it was as hot and respected as any other rock-n-roll album of that time. The sisters were huge influences on female rockers to come!
