Stop trying to chase Enlightenment & REALISE #Enlightenment is you(consciousness) and everything around you. Asceticism is the extreme opposite of Hedonism/Overindulgence...They both try to achieve a Higher state of being by putting their bodies through extreme pain/pleasure. However, if you are persistently doing things to the extreme your days are numbered. Too much food=death, No food at all=death.. Hence, many ascetic monks have died attempting sokushinbutsu & inversely many people have died of drug overdoses attempting to achieve extreme ecstasy/euphoria. Both paths are unconscious(unaware) extreme opposite sides of the same coin and they are both spiritual mirrors of one another's intention☯️. Balance/the middle way is key.
