Which was his "weak point" in Singapore, for example. In Singapore he braked late and had a very bad corner exit, he lost a LOT as a result. Now it was exactly the opposite. I mention Singapore because it went there, the last time a 3D tour was made of it
Correct me if I'm wrong but with the time difference, I'm sure leclerc would still be on pole if Verstappen had not gone over the lines. Verstappen going over the lines means he was faster through that corner...
Charles just has smooth lines through all the sections and never over accelerates to force harder breaking into next corner. Probably a reaction to the tire wear issue Ferrari has always had with this car. If they can figure out the tire wear issue and he drives like this. They will for sure compete better against the RB.
Interesting fact; in Singapore (which was the last time I saw a 3d lap of him), Leclerc braked very late on entering the corner and lost a LOT on the exit of the corner. I don't know if he revised his driving style or saw that the approach of braking a lot with this car wasn't working, but it's clear that exactly the opposite is happening now. He seems to brake earlier and gains an absurd corner exit.
Love these comparisons onboard live during quali I was afraid Leclerc lost it in turn 19 and this shows how much he lost out to Norris at that turn but he managed to get just enough out of 20 to get ahead of Norris
ferrari in 1 lap pace is good but also faster on the straight becouse of that medium downforce wing but they going to destroy the tires in the race but we will see
Why the F are we seeing Lando vs Charles when in reality it was Lewis vs Charles. Lewis was faster till the last corner I wanna know what happened?????
Ferrari has been in top 3 cars since 2021. I don't know why people keep saying it's a tractor. This year too Either Leclerc or Sainz should have been in top 3 by taking advantage of perez's slump. But Fernando and Lewis beat them
With engine less 25 hp in 2021, you mean? It is UNDERSTEER car. In 2022 in 5 races it is engine powerful but after Barcelona where engine broken, they fight with safe mode (not race mode) to avoid broken in 3 races! And SF23 is understeer car with front locked. It won't turn except you force it. But Leclerc did it and crashed in Miami. It is wrong concept car. Mclaren is 3rd Best car since 2021. And their engine is Mercedes. Their problem just aerodynamic.
Ferrari hasn't always been in top 3 since 2021. This car is not a tractor but it's not consistent and downright awful. Failrrari also wasted a lot of Leclerc's races with questionable strategy, engine unreliability and giving Charles broken cars
Two completely different design concepts. McLaren is good at high and medium speed corners but is struggling to put the power down leaving a corner. Ferrari are solid but not great at high speed but have fantastic traction out of the slow speed corners. Even though the lap was scrubbed. It would be interesting to see how the Redbull compares to both of these.
It's more about making use of the car's strengths than driver preference (Ferrari's strong traction out of corners compared to McLaren's pointy front) but yes Leclerc made the difference
Yes Leclerc is making use of the car characteristics however he would probably be faster with a more pointy car since that’s more of his way of driving.
@@barbarianarcher495 no worries mate. A pointy car with a lot of front grip that you can put where you want in the the corner but that is oversteery. Max and Charles are two drivers that notably like pointy cars. The RB this year fits this category, the Ferrari is a bit more unbalanced but definitely more on the understeering side of things which fits more Carlos driving style.
Seems like McLaren has better breakes and turning speed in slow corners, but Ferrari has better acceleration from lower speed. And that seems to be winning factor this time for Leclerc and Ferrari. Good job to them and to the video maker.
@@cl_0ud470 Still, closer, not ahead. RB with Newey have something special, that can't be matched easily. Hoping for more drama next season. RB vs Ferrari and McLaren would be amazing.
I am so grateful for your videos... its so fun to really see the difference like this because on tv you just see the time but not how it was gained through the lap. Great work man 🙂
Amazing vidoe👏 Could you put Lewis Hamilton’s last lap too? The top three were nearly matched! Hamilton was ahead of Charles Leclerc up to the exit of the last corner! 😢
Traditional vs "short corner" drivers. Lando carries more speed in corners and compromises traction on the exit. Charles optimizes for traction out of the corner by lowering entry speed and rotating the car quicker. Fascinating.
It's easy to spot the heavier acceleration off exits from Leclerc, as well as the relatively questionable entries, half the gaps were closed up by Norris because of the latter, while the Ferrari makes up in the exit.
