this is true, if you want a really damn good laugh look up him telling the video i think is called the funniest or the greatest fart joke ever told he told this at a Con a few years back and you just have to watch it. i love Misha and the fact that he can say that about those to not only is it true but if you look at the cons on you tube cause i've never been to any of them you can tell the three of them are close.

As much as I love friendly Cas, I miss this part of Cas that is so foreign and terrifying for the boys. You dont get that feeling often from Sam and Dean
The first five seasons were gold. Cas gradually lost what made him so interesting as the show went on imo. I still love the whole show, but when Kripke left as show runner there was a decline in narrative quality as far as story and character arcs are concerned and it's pretty noticeable. I think Sam stayed about the same throughout the show, but Dean changed a lot. By the end he felt like a caricature of his original character. Even as a big fan of the show it's hard not to compare the original 5 seasons under Kripke with everything that came after.
It's so weird seeing Misha out of character. His Castiel voice doesn't feel fake at all. It's not like the Christian Bale growl. Actually Stephanie Beatriz is another one. They're two people who sound perfectly normal putting on the voice then when they're actual voice comes out it's a total shock.
Castiel was my favorite character. That signature voice made a world of difference. Without Castiel the show wouldn't be as great, no offence to all the other characters. But he brought something very unique. He did an amazing job playing this role. 👏
Misha by far was my saving grace for a lot of the later seasons, just the broad variety in his acting with every “new” persona his “vessel” had to embody ❤
I will always remember his entrance to the show, one of the most epic things I've witnessed. That second I knew there will never be a better actor for death - not limited to spn but TV in general.
Of course there have been days where they're like, "Fuck off!" at each other. Didn't you hear him say they're like brothers? 😆 Love everything about that show, but the part I love most is Cas. And that's saying something because, even though I'm a horror fan, the religious horror sub-genre has always been one of my less favorites. It's usually silly and preachy, honestly. But the way he played Cas was refreshing and unexpected. Angels ARE supposed to be spooky. If you read The Bible, angels are terrifyingly inhuman. And seeing Cas develop from that to a very human-like being, and all the uncomfortable things that come with that was really satisfying. It was really well done.
That's also what I liked about the show, taking all these concepts and lores of creatures and religions and working them into it in their own way, never gonna be another show like it
Panders to the fans too much. Weasled his way into a show that wasn't his. The brothers is why I watch. Casteel was entertaining at times, but annoying most of the time.
Oh man, I really miss original Cas. He became more and more human-ish the more he spent time on earth. Misha's original awkward version of Castiel was the best version of him.
Exactly how i feel. Don't get me wrong i love him regardless but the Castiel that was awkward and trying to learn and understand humans was the one i fell in love with
I'm just glad they call each other all the time, I know they loved each other and get along great. It's just nice to hear the keep in touch. I know both Danneel and Genevieve love Misha too.

Castiel's 'otherworldly' presence and mannerism I thought would've been very intentional of the showrunners. It's always surprising, yet refreshing to hear when actors inspire their own creation instead of, sometimes in spite of, the director.
I hated when they brought in the whole angels and demons angle but, I fell in love with Cass and can’t imagine the show without him 😘 Thank you Misha for your contribution to my favorite show of all time!!
A lot of people were *very* suspicious about how much the show was going to change with him added, since it had originally been Sam and Dean alone against the world.
There are only two moments that REALLY stand out to me over the course of the entire show. When Dean loses his courage and they open a locker to show a rat and Dean screams in a humorously bitchy way. Hilarious! And When theyre calling Cas but he turns up drunk. Where were you? - I found a liquor store - and? - and i drank it! it was spectacu--lacular!
I remember the first time Misha showed up, I was in 8th grade about to be a freshman in high school. I remember constantly looking to see if they were having him come back
Misha was my third favorite. Funny enough Dean was my fourth favorite & Sam was my fifth favorite. I find it hard to understand the factions in fandom. I loved it all. (First & second favorites flip between Bobby & Crowley.)
I always thought of Bobby as the angel on my shoulder, Crowley being the devil. BAWLS. Either way, I stopped watching after the Leviathan season. I wish the show had ignored the fans more if not completely, fan service tends to ruin franchises.
@@gandalf8216 the leviathan season was one of my least favorite. Though there is another I wasn't fond of later on. however I never did finish season 14 and beyond. I refuse, if I didn't see it then it didn't happen, they can live rent free in my brain forever
I think obvious why Misha was made permanent. I don’t even think it even had to be him to begin with. It could’ve been any halfway decent actor. His role is needed in a show like supernatural just like it’s needed in Star Trek. In Star Trek TOS, Spock played a foil to Humanity. People like that because it helps the story convey the episode or arc’s deeper story/message. And it serves to kind of create a character the viewer can relate to when the shows cast is centered in a universe of craziness. Wether that be the supernatural or the high-tech & existential. Spock worked so well that every Star Trek series after it had a Spock in it. TOS had Spock, TNG had Data, Voyager The Doctor, DS9 Odo, and Enterprise T’Pol. That Spock-like character acts as a foil to the main cast but it also acts as a foil between the viewer and the show. Supernatural ended up being (which I think was a surprise to a lot of people at the time) the Horror genre’s version of Sci-Fi’s Star Trek. If Castiel didn’t show up when he did I think the show would have died much sooner. And that’s why he ended up staying. And when he wasn’t there I think Crowley also filled that role when he became a semi-good guy slash anti-heroe slash Winchester Fan Boy.
After season 8 or 9 it kinda dips but has it moments. But...for arguements sake...I've watched the whole series from start to finish more times than I can remember. Its my background go to next to HIMYM.
People swoon over the idea of angels as tiny little cherubs, but in actuality angels are warriors fighting to keep heaven safe from anything that would attempt to violate it, so Misha playing Castiel that way was spot on. Any Misha fans reading this should check out his appearance on the original Charmed series in the season 2 episode "They're Everywhere".
I just saw a new trailer for The Winchesters... I hope they cast more of the a original cast... and I'd love to see Misha and Mark (even though they did him dirty in the last couple of seasons) ❤hope it turns out to be a good show (would have loved to see the original ppl play John and Mary but it seems decent so far)

I went to one of their conventions in Vancouver….and yes there were Dean fans Sam fans etc…. But all in all the people there were there to have fun and pretty much all got along. It was a fun and silly weekend I really needed. The hosts …the dudes who played Gabriel and God, is what made it awesome.
@@PhantomMenace. After Dean died, Bobby told him that Cas had helped Jack rebuild Heaven. I think Jack enforced the 'no interfering' policy on the angels as well. Cas just had to wait, his boys would get there eventually.
That whole season where he and Hanna drive around to find find fallen angels was the stuff of pure boredom. Obvious the writers didnt know what to do with him.
So fu**ing hate that he got so nerfed. Literally became a baby in a trench coat. Also hearing these two curse is something I wish I could've seen in their respective shows

And we are one soul in two bodies living two different lives, who also share a mirrored experience. Get it? Emotions are like waves, they are always changing and when you are around me they amplify.. hence the back and forth. That’s why Kurt says to transcend all emotion. Twinflame love is something different… and I hope we make it Misha, I hope we get to experience it. My 12-year-old daughter loves Misha and his character. We started watching the show during the pandemic and honestly, it brought us closer. When Castiel died she was just heartbroken, so mad that Sam was the only one to get a happy ending.
Technically all of them got happy endings: Sam got to live out the normal life he always wanted before meeting Dean in heaven Dean managed to go to heaven where all his loved ones were Castiel wasn’t claimed by the Empty, and instead got the chance to fix heaven alongside Jack, who’s his adopted son and new god I didn’t like the execution of how things happened, but i couldn’t really find fault with how complete the ending feels

I wonder if T.V. star actor (MISHA COLLINS) might be interested in playing similar character roles in movies someday? I also wonder if actor (MISHA COLLINS) might be interested in playing a character role in a spinoff series if one is made?
The first spin-off will be "The Winchesters" which is being produced by Jensen and Danneel Ackles, focusing on young John and Mary Winchester. Since angels can time travel there is a possibility of Castiel showing up. However, Misha just signed on to play Harvey Dent/Two-Face in the upcoming CW series "Gotham Knights."

I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I think the arrival of Castiel represented a dip in quality for the show. It wasn’t because of Castiel, mind you. It had more to do with the direction of the show. Starting in season four, Supernatural became more of a fantasy show than a horror show. In some ways, it made sense for the end of the show, but if they were going to continue the show after season five, it should have returned to its horror roots.
I agree it should have returned to its horror roots like resident evil went from third person shooter to first person view with horror with the eventual sequels
Very interesting take. I don't necessarily fully agree with it but I dig it. The thing is that Eric Kripke didn't know this show would extend past season 5. In fact, he was continuously worried that the show would end prematurely because SPN was always on the edge of cancellation before the advent of Netflix. Thus, he wrote the show and got right to the juicy meaty material early on and treated it as if it was going to be the last time he worked on this show.
@@bigwobs8040 It was still crazy dark even with the knowledge of angels. Remember when the Horseman of Famine appeared? We found out Dean was empty inside and Sam relapsed back into demon blood and the episode ended with Dean forcibly detoxing Sam in Bobby's panic room as Dean begged God for help.
@@Kleineganz no, there's an episode where he actually farts, and his reaction when it happens is just amazing - it may have been the 1st time he became "mortal" or whatever. (it's been a long time since I saw it, so I don't recall the episode offhand, just that part of it)
