Wow! This is by far the most brilliant explanation of the universe on RU-vid. Period!

The question appears to involve some ambiguous semantics. Is it asking if "nothing" was somehow THE CAUSE of the universe or is it asking if the universe simply "appeared" without a cause? If "nothing" was the cause of the universe, then it wasn't "nothing."

I love that science is bringing the elephant in the room to a higher resolution. What we label as “science” is by far my favorite religion!

There was never nothing. Period. Something could not come from a true nothing, and since there is something now, there was never nothing.

This has good info, but i suspect it's robot voice. It doesn't flow correctly for a documentary. Not enough pauses between concepts, etc.
