The only available captioning that appeared is in what looks like another language (and not the bizzarro speech to text language that does not equate to actual captioning). to all the people who are writing comments about how this video is a lie and goes against science: do realize that science constantly evolves, that's what makes science great. the information provided in this video is literally the latest science that is being uncovered, and replicated, across research institutions around the world. when i was a biochemistry student at a prestigious university as recently as 2012, we were learning that carbs were the optimal energy source for our cells. i speak to students who are currently taking the exact same course i took, and they are learning that carbs are in fact not the optimal energy source for our cells. they are learning about the role carbs play in insulin resistance. i didn't learn all this in uni 5 years ago. but a good scientist is always open to accepting new facts in light of new evidence. just because an idea contradicts how you've chosen to live your life, doesn't mean that idea is wrong. and please stop giving anecdotal evidence eg "I eat a high carb diet and I'M not fat", these are completely useless in forming arguments, convincing people, and making any sort of point at all. also- it is true that the rate of diabetes and heart disease is increasing in asia. but that's not because they are consuming more fats, but rather because they are consuming more packaged (ie processed) foods, which contain a lot of hidden sugars as well as other chemicals, in conjunction with leading more sedentary lives.

Nazlan Nazarudin they are also eating more animal protein, dairy and fats... so which one is it? Their traditional high carb diet? Or their new diet with more animal products and junk food? If it was just ‘refined carbs’, white rice is a refined carb and has been eaten as a staple by asians for thousands of years, it doesn’t make sense. Your argument has a lot of missing information and has lots of holes.
@victoriabeckfinat225
@victoriabeckfinat225 5 лет назад
@@andrewhorton Her argument doesn't have holes you just can't read. It's not even an arguments but pure facts. It's not animal proteins and fats causing weight gain. It's the fact that they're eating more junk food. As far as rice, not only his it not the only food that people of Asian descent eat, as stated above leading a more sedentary life is also a contributor. Where many people in the past were burning those calories they ate, they aren't any longer.

@B_27
@B_27 3 года назад
Type 1 diabetes is NOT cause by diet and watching this video would have done nothing to prevent your condition. Type 2 is the one cause by diet and lifestyle factors. Type 1 diabetes occurs when your immune system, the body’s system for fighting infection, attacks and destroys the insulin-producing beta cells of the pancreas. Scientists think type 1 diabetes is caused by genes and environmental factors, such as viruses, that might trigger the disease.

Good information, however it is important to note that the number one energy source for the brain is glucose, or sugar. Carbohydrates are healthy and necessary for good health. However not all carbs are created equal. Liquid carbs digest quicker so have a much more dramatic effect on blood sugar than carbs that are solid. Also, foods with a high glycemic index have a lower glycemic index when eaten with a fiber rich vegetable and protein. Do not believe that you need to avoid carbs to be healthy, your body needs them, it just does not need too many and it needs high quality sources like fruits and vegetables, not soda.

Bro the video addresses this. It says that you shouldn't eat processed foods that are high in starch as it is easily digested. Hence processed foods like cola and a doughnut have high glycemic index. Despite a bowl of rice having the same calories as a can of soda,it is medium glycemic index as rice also has fibres(depends on the type of rice but most types have fibres) so the fibres act as dampers the lessen the effects of carbs on the body. That's why it's fine to eat fruits vegetables etc. What is NOT fine is eating processed foods that don't have fibres.

+4 leaf cloverit has been described that 15% protein, 55% carbs (45% of complex and no more than 10% of simples or sugars) and 30% fat (up to 8% of saturated and 1% of trans) may be a good ratio for healthy people to keep a healthy life, but this will depend on your BMI, % body mass and if you have any diseases.

Also, eating too much cheese and other fatty foods will lead to blocked arteries and heart disease later in life. You also are neglecting all the important vitamins and minerals you can only get from fruits and veggies, especially leafy greens. For this crowd, it has become an article of faith that not only is meat-eating bad for humans, but that it’s always been bad for humans. It just ain’t so. As new study's makes clear, not only did processing and eating meat come naturally to humans, it’s entirely possible that without an early diet that included generous amounts of animal protein, we wouldn’t even have become human-at least not the modern, verbal, intelligent humans we are.

The person was eating quite normally and they didn't understand why until they discover that it was due to how they cooked their carbohydrates (rice, here). They let the rice cook for so long that all the polysaccharides became simple molecules of glucose (due to the heat) before the digestion and the glycemic index was really the same as soda or white bread. So the time of cooking is really important, don't let it cook for 40 minutes. (I had to make my mom understand but she says she doesn't like raw pasta lol)

Sometimes, I feel like they have to keep thier head down to people’s health. You’re with me on this, right? We need to get this straight not to put our lives in danger. The biggest problem with demonizing starchy carbs is that they are great for fueling workouts. While you don't need them, they will likely improve your performance because your body can more readily use glucose from carbs and actually prefers to. If you aren't active, carbs aren't as helpful. But the people that demonize them do so from a standpoint of health, while ignoring the benefits carbs can provide for exercise, whether strength training or cardio. This is a good hint that they don't do a lot of exercise, despite pretending to be a poster child for health. If you can stick to a keto diet and you're happy with your performance when exercising, good for you. Have at it. But there's a damn good chance your performance would increase notably with some starchy carbs in your diet.
