Enzymes speed up (catalyse) chemical reactions by lowering the amount energy required to start the reaction. The energy required to start the reaction is called activation energy. Enzymes lower activation energy by either putting strain on the chemical bonds of a substrate molecule or bringing substrate molecules (reactants) together in the correct orientation so that they react more readily. i just have a question plz can someone ans when he put two substrate molecules in enzyme and enzyme combined those two substrate together and made it product for this reaction to occur enzymes also need some activation enery?? and from where enzymes get this energy??
@sherazkhan2802
@sherazkhan2802 7 лет назад
Aisha Manahil Every reaction needs an activation energy and in case of living organisms it is available in the form of ATP.
@preetilochab9753
@preetilochab9753 6 лет назад
By breaking the chemical bonds of ATP.

The enzyme lower the activation energy but there is still a little energy required to make the reaction happen, so where does the energy come from to start the energy?
@someonecurious876
@someonecurious876 5 лет назад
You posted this comment a really long time ago,but I'm gonna answer it anyway.The energy comes by braking the bonds of ATP.
@hadiaali1295
@hadiaali1295 5 лет назад
^^ because the potential energy is stored in those bonds, so when they break, the energy releases
