How do I feed Garlic to the Fish? 

When I worked at Petco, years ago, I was at my wits end on fighting ich. I bought a jar of McCormick's minced garlic from the grocery store. I put a spoonful in each tank and they fish went nuts over it. Granted, it made the whole store smell like an Italian kitchen, the ich was gone in a couple of days. When I first read about using garlic, I brushed it off as woo. But it actually worked. After that, every week, after I got my delivery, I would feed them garlic for a couple of days and ich outbreaks were next to nil.

It is indeed helpful. I tried fresh, dried and fermented one as well. All of them just work very well for me.

Dang...when your microwave sound came on I actually walked to mine thinking I had something in it and also, thanks for saving me on going to buy garlic extract at 20 bucks

I put a whole clove in and some of them go for that. Even my amano shrimp and royal pleco seem to eat it.

gotta try to do this myself. Love it...

I've experimented with feeding fish garlic in the past. They much prefer garlic powder over fresh.

Do I only add the garlic water or do I add the garlic and the garlic water

Fish love garlic.There is a guy with Hillstream loaches on youtube who uses mashed peas a few frozen shrimp, garlic and spinach and purée the whole before mixing it with Repashy.Oh and he adds a little gelatine to make nice and compact cubes. I have done it a few times and frozen the rest in ice cube trays for easier use. NEVER use the Microwave.Microwaves are known to change the dna and to destroy nutrients- so you destroy all the healing properties of garlic and plants if you migrate them.Blanch them in dechlorinated or spring water instead..If you still can't stand the smell...Maybe you shouldn't have fish- its like when people have children and say 'i can't stand the smell changing nappies, my partner has to do it'.
