Hello Miss Anna, No pictures from me as they nails are or have been very bad sue to chemical and water damage. Also an aggressive manicure not productive. For several days now I've used oil after every hand wash or dish washing, and Kerasal every evening. It's really working for the skin around the nails to heal. Thank you so very much for your channel.
I always appreciate your expertise with ingredients and anatomical terms. I study anatomy in my degree, so I find the science of nail care very interesting, but also extremely helpful to anyone! Great video.
I have faithfully followed your advice for four months, and the results have been miraculous. For my entire life, I thought I was a person with "bad" nails... peeling, weak, flaky, ugly, etc. Through your channel, I've learned that everything I was doing was giving me bad nails: polish (24/7), hardeners, buffing of ridges, nipping the PNF... the list goes on. Thank you so much, Anna! Your channel has changed my nails!
Hi Katgirlblue. The Blue Cross remover is fantastic! We use it all the time. We used to use the Orly remover prior to Blue Cross. Both are great :) Thanks so much - MSL
Thank you for the great video! You do a great job explaining the terms and process. Your tone of voice is very pleasing and the rate of your speech is perfectly understandable.
Thank you! I was a chronic nail biter most of my life. I stumbled across your videos and started watching and trying the techniques & products you advise. My nails & cuticles are so much better! I can't believe the difference in them. I just got the DD starter kit today and can't wait to try it out. I've never worn nail polish very often because my nails looked so awful & I've never had a professional manicure in my life. Maybe I don't mess them up too bad. Because of you, I'm willing to give it a try! Thank you again.
Thank you so much for your content!! Question: is it important do use base coat? I find that my nail colors stay longer without it. And I tried so many… Dior, Essie, Isadora and so on… I don’t understand why it doesn’t work for me… and I prepare my nails exactly as you suggest in your videos ❤
That was an important distinction about leaving the cuticle where it is and push back the living skin. That is not what I was doing, although I don't have much cuticle due to at least minimum nightly oil/hand cream. About the toenail appearance, is there any way to avoid that dry-looking damage from nailpolish use? I remember being horrified the first time I saw that, I wondered what I have done wrong and of course you have to cover it with more polish in the summertime :) I am trying to remember to put a little oil on toes as well at night. Thank you, Anna!
Hi Linda! Not leaving the polish on for as long, and leaving the polish off for couple of days and applying lots of oil as a prevention. Before the damage happens.
The same thing happens to me. I’ve been using Kerasal every night for a few months now, and cuticle oil (although not after every hand wash). Nevertheless, when I try to push back my living skin, I also push back my cuticle. Although they look better now, the living skin still stretches with the growing nail.
Hello Miss Anna, love your great advice and informative videos. Oil and Kerasal are working for me. Maybe I will be more brave soon and send pics. Thank so much again for your honest and valuable channel.
I don't know if you will see this comment, but I thought I would try. This person and I have a similar nail issue: the white part of the nail goes deep into the side of the nail. Some of my nails are white like the tips but deep on the side (like halfway down the nail bed), and the skin feels hard around there too.I now avoid filing too deep and tugging on the skin around there, but is this something than can grow out over time with care and patience? P.S. I have just started doing warm oil soaks and nightly kerasol treatments. Aside from the kerasol, all other products are local brands because the Japanese nail goods market is very insular.
Hello there :). Some people’s nails just have that shape. Sometimes if the shape is due to breaking the side seal then it might reattach. If it’s how their nails are normally shaped I don’t think there is anything that can be done to change it. Kerasal is great for hard skin. Warm jojoba soaks for the nails. You don’t need more products. You need consistency, gentle care and patience
Thank you for the reply! Mine might be due to breaking because I used to be a terrible nail biter. While I am mostly better about it, I had broken my non-biting streak a few months ago in August. I will keep at it, though, and just try to be patient. @@TheSalonLife
Hi Anna! Was wondering how you feel about dip powder vs. gel? Are they bad for the nails? Do you have a preference? Is it best to just not use anything at all and just go with natural unpolished nails?
Thank you for this I learn all about the nailbed the cuticle and proximal fold from bliss kiss who gets there information from Doug Shoon. I didn't know you can't get it on the skin then you wash it off then remove the cuticle.
Hi Pam! Urea is one of those things were more is not better. 5-10% is sufficient for very effective moisturisation. 40% is used for thinning the nail before fungal procedures and maybe extremely thick callus. Dry skin is very different than thick callus. 40% is an overkill. I recommend Kerasal which has 10% urea and 5% salicylic acid. Kerasal (Amazon) amzn.to/3dy31F7 Kerasal (iHerb) bit.ly/3XCWKvF
Hey, I can't afford kerasal it's just too expensive in UK as it's a US product. I want to use vaseline instead but what else could I get that would complement it best for hydration in the night time? Thank you!
This video was so on point for me. I was doing exactly this - pushing my cuticles to the edge and piling it on top of living skin. Now I know what to do. Is there an alternative to Kerasal? Its not available in Germany. Can I buy any foot cream that has 10% urea in it?? Thanks for all your advice 💜
Hello, the formula of Kerasal is what makes it so effective. I don't know what it is but it's more effective than other 10% urea based creams. See if you can get Hasceral from Poland. Same ingredients.
@@TheSalonLife thank you so much for the reply. I'll try to check if I can get any of these. I am using a 5% urea cream for a month and hasn't seen a big difference so maybe you are right about Kerasal
I don't know if you have this brand in Germany but Eveline cosmetics is a Polish brand and sells 30% and 25% urea foot cream. Maybe the percentage needs to be higher to compete against Kerasal. I live in Croatia and I have this brand in my drugstores. You could also ask your local pharmacies what foot creams for calluses they sell. Im not a professional but maybe this helps.
Hi Debra. We do prefer the Blue Cross cuticle remover. We did mention that in the video. around 2:34 that before discovering Blue Cross we used the Orly cuticle remover. Hope that helps :) Thanks so much! - MSL
