This video was published at the very moment I was met with my own personal unbearable tragedy. I lost my best friend of 14 years this morning. Prayerfully, God will help me in this time because the pain is unreal, right now.

So sorry you bear this pain right now... thankful you know Him to Shepherd you through this valley... You are loved, lay your head upon His chest as did the disciple that Jesus loved. Tell Him all your heart. Sometimes we can only muster enough strength to survive, to get through the day or even the next 10 minutes. He is your Strength. The eternal heartbeat of the author of life, is all you need to hear the next step, for in Him you live and breathe and have your being. With sadness and much love. Psalm 22:19 💙

This is unimaginable. This broke me just to to hear.. but the perspective I gained just considering this situation is immense. I feel silly not being able to find consistency in my faith when I just wake up late, and there are those searching for their faith through so much harder situations. I commend this person for not abandoning their journey through that. I think what John has suggested here is tragically beautiful, but well said. I pray it lands well with this person. I will certainly carry this perspective with me.

My heart breaks for this woman - her pain, her family's pain, and the pain of those who see how such a tragedy has affected these people. Pastor John, your words were just so reassuring and I hope this woman is able to find some peace and even joy in her sorrow. I, myself, have been grieving for just over two years since the tragic and sudden death of my husband of nearly 54 years. He was working underneath a customer's car when the car jack suddenly let go and crushed him to death immediately. Jimmie made a mistake by not having placed car stands under the back of this car. BUT THIS I BELIEVE: The day Jimmie died was the day that God planned for him to die even before Jimmie was born. God knew that Jimmie was going to make a mistake that would cost him his life. I will never know why God decided to take Jimmie this way; I will never know why I didn't get to tell Jimmie one last time how much I loved him. I have not been mad at God; I have been profundly sad at losing the most important human being in my life. Romans 8:28 has been my constant reminder that as a result of Jimmie's tragic death, God will cause something good to happen. I can testify that I am closer to God than I have ever been in my life; I communicate with God daily - something I didn't do before Jimmie's death. I look for opportunities to help others with their grief and to bring unbelievers to our God. I never did that before. So there has been good as a result of Jimmie's death. I will pray that this woman can find that kind of peace. The road to this peace is often bumpy and full of potholes, but it's still the best way to go. Diane in NC.

Thank you God for this. I am in a similar situation and feel extreme guilt and unworthiness. God has shown me that this woman has put herself in a prison. It causes me to cry for her. She needs to let herself out. God knows we're human. It was an accident. God restores, if not in the present life, then in the next. Paul says that we should keep our eyes on the Lord and look ahead, leaving behind the past. I know I need to do this. The past is gone. We cannot change it. We only have today and we need to give it to God and any of the hurts and consequences of the tragedy to Him and TRUST that He will heal and restore and use it and us for good. He's GOD after all! We then need to give our tomorrow to God. I have done the same thing for 7 years as this woman. I prayed that He show me why I still feel a distance with Him, why I'm having such difficulty rejoicing in Him and what He thinks of my attitude. I know I didn't cause the tragedy yet I feel responsible in part. Then I found this. Amazing answer to prayer! But I don't think this is necessarily a disability. I think it's a lack of knowing God's power, of knowing God's love and ability to forgive and even a little bit of making yourself your own judge instead of God. It's not trusting His view point. He sees us in the context of time over generations as well as moment by moment. Sometimes we find it so hard to stop condemning ourselves and we KNOW we are making ourselves god by doing it. We need to trust God. It could be grief that holds us. God can help there too. He heals the brokenhearted. We have to grieve what might have been and let God heal. This little boy has life! You will meet him because God will make up in heaven what he lost on earth. When I lost my grandmother to dementia, we watched her lose more and more of herself. She was a woman of faith, lived with a mild disability and taught me so much. When she passed, I knew she was in heaven fully restored, no longer weighed down by her failing body or even the disability she lived with all her life, happy and waiting for me, in her new better than ever perfect form. We all die, and our time here is really short. In heaven I will see her again healthy. We just have to have patience and wait. Best of all, we'll see God! I can't wait! In the meantime, God continues to help me help my daughter who is still recovering. He is working in her life as well. He will heal her and my family from our tragedy. Unfortunately my marriage did not survive and my husband no longer believes in God. God is helping me starting with my perceptions on these events and my walk with Him. God through Jesus set us free! God gives us and our loved ones life even if they died! We shouldn't lock ourselves up because we make mistakes. God fixes our mistakes if we ask him and believe. All power is with Him!

EXACTLY‼️ Precisely what Christ has been realizing within me the last several years in & thru my own physical disability, and what I've been trying to communicate to family members who seem to be bogged down in grief, or who, seemingly worse, have developed a pattern of responding to pain & grief by trying to simply ignore the reality of they they've suffered.... May I, too, remember to rest more on the power the Spirit to speak to their wounded hearts, and less on my own words‼️

Dear dear sister, as a parent I can not imagine the pain, loss, hurt and guilt you feel. Considering Job, even in the unthinkable most tragic of accidents and unjust unfolding of circumstances - you still give God praise and glory. I share experience of accident below in hope that it comforts in some small way. Even with this permanent limp, you will not shrink back or curse Him. I've faced death many times, once I was hit by a bus, my head smashed the windscreen and I was flung up like a rag doll landing on the other side of the road. God gave me a supernatural anaesthetic I felt no pain until recovering, although unconscious at first, I spoke with an Angel who 'held' me before the ambulance arrived to put me on the body board. He was a large handsome, beautiful man, radiant, Strength dressed in blue - eyes as pools of compassion. I've also had my whole foot run over by my sister who had to reverse over it to get the heel bone free, again God took away the pain until later - I spent more time reassuring my sister, it was a total accident, not her fault. Beloved it was not your fault, God is faithful, please don't allow that serpent to condemn you and steal your life. You are Royalty. This is a wicked and cruel world, blessed is the one who's Father calls him Home early (in our eyes). Not minimising the pain but accepting the things we cannot change, what a mission to be entrusted with, precious in the eyes of The Lord is the death of His Saints - your grandson's home-coming was no surprise to our Father, it is appointed once for man to die. He knows when we rise up and when we sit down, He knows every tear, He knows the end from the beginning... And He loves you with an everlasting love. Psalm 13. I pray TODAY is your day of perfect peace as your mind is stayed on Jesus. King Jesus.

This is actually about trusting in Gods word purposes and eternal plans for the one that is lost, not about ones personal lack of belief, trials and tribulations whilst on this earth, what’s that in comparison when you have a mindset that you have lost your grandchild through tragic circumstances in which you played a hand in ? Have you got kids and lost one or a grandchild ?

I really can't find words to express how bad I feel for your tragedy and your loss . I can imagine your how great your pain must be for I have lived a little bit similar experience with my own brother. I only have one big brother whom I lost 4 years ago. I never knew the real diagnosis whether it was a stroke or a heart attack, I really don't know. I live in a country where many lose their lives because of medical errors.. I did all I could do back then but I had horrible experience thinking that I should have given him better medical treatment .. I was swallowed in guilt for a long time and I still do when I remember those horrible two- day crucible . I finally find nothing to say to myself except that I wish I could give him my life and die in stade of him if possible .. May lord give you peace and grace to move on with your life.

I think it can be very helpful to have specific role models when it comes to dealing with these kind of things. Pastor John already mentioned the apostle Paul but we are also to look at people who walk according to his example (Philippians 3:17). When Pastor John mentioned disability I couldn´t but think of Joni Earekson Tada. She made one mistake that turned her into a permanent (talking about this life) quadriplegic. By her own words she "wasted" the first years of her disability but later she learned and let God do a great work in her that turned her life into an amazing display of Gods grace. Here is her testimony: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VVXJ8GyLgt0.html Here is a very powerful talk she gave: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-u4G3RY3h_V0.html

It isn't made clear in this video/talk in what way the lady has been sinful in respect of this event. I hope that if the advice given was towards how to respond to her failure that those giving the advice had enough information to establish that she did indeed do something wrong. But let us for the moment proceed as if this has been established - is the woman called to be sorrowful all of her life (I am not at this stage responding to how she feels - only to what she is obligated to feel)? If so do we not agree that since we are all sinners we are too? Or are we only called to be sorrowful for "big" sins? Or irreversible ones? Of course not - all sins are big and no sin is reversible. So then is this the teaching of scripture? That whilst forgiven we should all for the rest of our days be sorrowful for what we have done wrong? No it isn't. The first point to understand is that whilst we have sinned against others (and we may have SOME obligations because of it) we have in fact sinned against God. Psalm 51:3- ESV For I know my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me. Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight, But how is it possible to see our sin in this way? Is the fact that our sin has had a permanent effect on the life of someone irrelevant? How does our sin not obligate us forever to those we have sinned against? It doesn't because no human action has the power to override the purposes of God. No person's life is able to be lengthened or cut short from the number of days God has allotted to them by the sin of another human being - God is sovereign. Human wrongdoing does not lie outside of his sovereignty. If it did in what sense could we say that God was sovereign? Every promise he made in relation to our life would be worthless - subject to uncontrolled human events. The woman must therefore make sure that her ongoing grief is tempered by this truth - to think otherwise is to imagine God to be smaller and us greater than we should. If we have children we should comfort them with this assurance. We should tell them that it isn't random circumstances they need to be reconciled to - but God. And that is a good thing because God is beautiful - good - always merciful in all he does. So the woman's peace in this matter rests in recognising that she was less powerful in her doing wrong than she thinks - and she only needs to come to terms with her wrongdoing (again assuming she did any wrong) with God. I think that it's safe to assume that any obligations to confess her wrongdoing to those affected by her actions have been fulfilled - it not her sorrow is not a replacement for them. But after that it becomes a case of acknowledging that if she or we think our failure towards God rests only in one major event we aren't seeing things clearly. It's far wider than that. And God's greatness - his mercy - is greater again. If we understand that in our sin we are bound to him - and yet know that we are released by mercy and grace - WE ARE FREE.

Why do people comment prayers on things like these? Why not just pray in secret like Jesus told us to do? It's one thing to comment that you'll be praying for someone but it's another thing altogether to write out a virtue signaling prayer for all the other Christians to gawk at.
