You pay into social security at your jobs and then when you retire, you get to collect that money you paid in. You also then get to have medicare/healthcare when you turn 65. Its all basically like a savings account. I don't know about disability as ive never been on that.
What I would like to know is , Why do we pay for Medicare through our social security when we paid for this while we were working? Why are we penalized for not signing up for Medicare at age 65 when we actually saved the government money?
You are NOT penalized at or past age 65 if you have creditable coverage through your employer. You can skip Part A, B, D, no penalty, as long as you have creditable coverage. I plan to file for Part A at age 70, which is when I plan to file for SS. At which time I'll stop contributions to my health savings account (6 months before the date I file, actually), then apply for Part A. I could defer Part B (and avoid Part B premiums) till I'm ready to retire, at which time I'll decide between Medigap and Medicare Advantage.
Medicare requires you to have a wellness check yearly right? So when I have to get a blood test why is a lipid panel test not excepted through Medicare? I also have a supplemental insurance that I pay monthly that should pick up some of this. So why do I get charged?
If your receiving SS Medicare From Being Disabled I Have Them Calling Twenty Four Hours Reminding Me I’m Turning 65 I’m Already Enrolled What Would Change If I’m Already Receiving Theses Benefits Because Of My Disability If I Sign Up For The Food Card How Much Of Benefits Will Be Cut Because SS A Come Send A Letter Saying Your Having Help My Doctors All Say Just Stay With The Government Has Me In Because I Move They May Not Be Under Certain Programs
