How do the doors in Fnaf 1 even work? 

I always assumed the door itself was electrified, like an electric fence. It fits with the series' later love of "controlled shocks" to stop animatronics.

It’s possible that the doors have an emergency system to open when power is no longer supplied, in case of a fire or other natural disaster cutting off power. The reason that they constantly draw power is that they are electrified to fend off the animatronics

I get magnets for pushing and pulling, but not pulling it down the sides with magnets in the doorframe? Like a less lethal railgun

I thought the doors were hydraulic doors. This prevents the animatronics from simply pulling the door back up. However due to a safety mechanism with most hydraulic doors, you can’t close it when something’s in the doorway and it automatically opens during power outages.

My best guess was that the doors were counterweighted and had some jank hydraulic mechanism that uses an active pump to lift the weight up. Still, it doesn’t explain why Foxy banging on the door drains power.

Magnets become less effective the further away they are from the object. However, if it activates to "throw" the door down, and a separate one activates to hold the counterweight up then it could work, because the magnets would be right next to/touching the door and counterweights. This would actually draw a significant amount of power, because it has to be a strong enough electromagnet to hold up a counterweight significantly heavier than the door (bc it can open the door quickly).

I think reasons why the door goes up when the power is out is safety reasons because if there a fire or disaster or anything else the person won't be stuck and able to get out building or help others out

There could be a spring mechanism where if the door is pulled down, the springs extend with the door staying pulled down via mechanical element which exert a force downwards countering the spring’s upwards elastic force - this requires energy. The doors may be built this way for safety reasons so the person doesn’t get trapped in the office if some sort disasters were to occur (fires etc).

I assumed it used power to push a weight up And that weight doesn't need power to open the door so that's what the safety system is

I dunno man, but i wouldn't assume a world where souls of children can be trapped in some weird machine thing would necessarily have the same physics as ours :D

I think electromagnets of that power would probably yeet any metal object around the room. Instead, how about constructing a railgun around the counterweight? Have the weight be a magnet, have the rails its guided on be connected to the power switch and you have sth that can close the doors extremely fast and constantly uses power.

Afton obviously knew about the alive animatronics, so I have an idea. What if a hydraulic was pushing it downwards, to the ground? The animatronics (or anyone) then can't just pull it up with a handle.

A way to do this more consistently is to lower your frames it stops the animatronics from moving its slower but more consistent and less painful need to set fps to 2 or 1

Cute and enjoyable video but a lot of the technical information on the game is just kinda wrong. The game's been decompiled for a while now so on the off chance you make something like this again probably just use that instead of trying to test things manually. Things I noticed if you're interested for some reason: 1. The power drain shouldn't be randomized, though power does drain faster on later nights 2. Foxy really can't move on 0 AI, but everyone except Freddy has there AI levels slightly increased throughout the night. IIRC Foxy's goes up by 1 at 3 and 4 AM 3. Every hour in fnaf 1 lasts 90 seconds EXCEPT the last one which lasts 85 for some incomprehensible reason

Im not smart, so forgive me for anything i get wrong. Due to the circa 1980s setting, electricity wasn't the biggest thing, so the budget and that, its possible will didn't want to spend much money on the security system , but more on the animatronics, hence the bad security. Also by the time will was already crazy, and so henry was on his own.

Dude, please stop. Watts are a unit of power, not energy like watt-hours. It is not an aesthetic which one you use, you absolutely cannot use one as shorthand for the other. Using watts when you mean watt-hour or Jule changes the fundamental meaning of your sentence, and you are speaking gibberish. It's like saying "I know there is a difference between wheels and cars but I'm just gonna say cars and you'll figure it out from context". I'm an electrical engineering student and this is one of the most painful videos I have watched in maybe the last 10 years. Flat earthers are more bearable than this.
