I love philosophy, but our philosophy for Western. If you were living here in China, like me, you really would knew the meaning that Chinese people give to philosophical sentences like that, it's not the same that we give them, trust me, and the use in their daily live that they give to that is not a good one either. This Chinese proverb, specially I don't like!

You could say at one point I experienced an awakening in myself. Now, my mom and I always had this nagging type of relationship. She would complain about stuff and I would engage in it telling her she shouldnt worry so much about insignificant things in life. We had many talks, discussions and heated arguments but one day something changed in me. I became VERY consciouss of my own thoughts and feelings and as expected my mom was there to test it out. One day She snapped at me for something as small as a towel laying in the sink. Suddenly I ''saw'' the emotion this reaction stirred in my belly, this negative energy ball of frustration that put my whole body from a state of complete peace into a state of frustration/anger. But something was different this time.. I was looking at the emotion. I had detached from the emotion and was no longer one with it. I realized this was my body's conditioned / automatic response in these type of situations. Right there and then was the moment where, eventhough my was body triggered into this unpleasant state, I was able to CHOOSE my response instead of reacting out frustration. My mom couldn't handle me giving a soft soothing response, she couldn't handle me disengaging from the discussion and went BERSERK. She was used to play throw and catch (with arguments) with me. But suddenly there was nobody to catch anymore. After she went berserk and had calmed down. I told her, from this day on, if you talk to me in this angry manner, I will not engage in the conversation. You are my mom, i love you so lets treat eachother with respect. it took her a while but eventually she understood and our whole relationship changed. For years I had tried to change her way of reacting to these little things, by telling her verbally. For years I was trying to control an external factor (my mom and her reactions)... Only to realize, that true change happens from within, true change happens in yourself first. And miracluously in this way we CAN change the world we live in... We change it from the inside out.

I can see much of my own relationship with my mother growing up and now my spouse in this, but I had that ‘snapping point’ with my spouse. Once I saw it, I realized the same and changed how I reacted (or didn’t) and they didn’t like it and I think that was because they couldn’t get that rise out of me like they did before so easily and couldn’t pull me in and I wouldn’t engage how I used to with them. It was almost as if they’d say, ‘what’s wrong with you?! Why doesn’t this piss you off?!’ without saying it because that trigger for me was no longer there. It’s also been mentioned recently that they will more-so bring up conversations/things they know will (used to) trigger me just to have a conversation with me because having those engagements with me aren’t worth it much any more unless I’m getting fired up like I used to hoping to get a stir from me any way they can because drama is apparently better that boring conversations about things they don’t care much about that I bring up. I feel a change in myself as well were I will just observe the conversation. They’ll say something and I will just look at them and take it all in. I can see much of where they get frustrated and think of how many times that was me before and how unnecessary and useless it was flying off the handle like that and how I wish they could see it from my point of view so they hopefully can find the same peace in it all like I did. Sometimes it’s harder to connect with them on that level because they can’t see things like that and don’t want to because it’s better to have an irrational justifiable response according to them to keep the conversation full of something that is far more interesting than just having no response…or reaction at all. It’s hard when you’re on two different levels there and can’t relate to that at the same time. And in many ways, I feel like life is going to be a pretty lonely place waiting around looking for someone who IS on that same level as you because the majority people out there are much happier living in drama mode and don’t want to wake up.

my relationship with my mother is the exact same way. with bickering and intense arguments that constantly test me. while i learned how not to engage in arguments with her, we recently had another one that triggered a very very intense reaction from me. it has made me very disappointed in myself in a way… because i expected more from myself. right now i just want to get away from her or any person that triggers that version of me to come out. i feel a bit humiliated that i let myself be that way.

@@olive4093 Life will present you with people and circumstances to reveal where you're not free. Everytime someone triggers a reaction in you that in an indicator of a space inside you where you are not free internally (yet). Try to work with it and be mindfull of the situation when a trigger happens. If you can create a space for yourself of consciouss awareness AFTER or during the trigger and BEFORE your reaction. Then that opens up a window of oppertunity to choose a adequate response instead of a reaction out fear/anger or sadness. This requires you to step out of the emotion of hurt/saddness of anger though. Through meditation you can learn to observe that you are just a witness of this emotion rather that being the emotion. and you will see as soon as you are done catching your mothers verbal fireballs. That she will stop throwing them because there aint anybody there to catch that fireball anymore. and Dont be too hard on yourself this is your work, you are fighting years and years of conditioning here. Good luck to you ! feel free to DM me if you want help or advice.

@@Lacroix999 thats a HUGE step, that you managed to step out of that. I believe this is apart of the spiritual path..(the loneliness) you lose some people because you are simply not engaging in the old games they played with you. With family for me this was quite hard and I had to re-develop a new way of interaction with them, with some that went better than others. thats okay. Even with the ones that did not manage to adjust so well to my new way of being, I still have a profound deep love for them and hope they manage to wake up one day. I know they are not interested in such a thing, they are completely emerged in the newtonian world. As you are coming closer to your true self and start to experience peace with what this. Then people will either start gravitating from or towards you. This is a process that can take some time (years). As you become more peacefull yourself , toxic people won't like being around you anymore. Where as before they had a grip on you and maybe had a good use to be around you (party friends for example). I lost many friends due to this transition. I lost some simply because I became more spiritual and they found it weird. Others I lost because they lost grip on me as I became more empowered and unshakeable as my true nature revealed. The closer i got to my true self the more they got disturbed by me. Its sadd in a way but the way i see it these people were never ment to be in my life for a long time anyway. They were passengers.

This can be is detrimental to your spiritual awakening. This is going to be long, but I hope this helps you and I wish you well!: Remember, we are not separate from anyone despite consciousness. Separating yourself from others is disregarding that our outer experience is, us. We must ascend past the false illusion that life happens to us. We only receive lower vibrations because we allow ourselves to make the excuse of acting on a lower vibration. We do not need to consume the lower vibration of our family. We must not see ourselves as individuals where things happen to us. We can shift our view and realize that our outer experience is, us. We are not exclusively defined. In consciousness, as stated by Alan Watts, "our consciousness is caught by the figure, not the background". The figure is conflict, new or unusual, different things in our life that stick out. It could be either negative or positive. However, when we focus only on the figure, we ignore the background. One way to focus on the back ground is this exercise I do every morning. I think, "what are 10 things I have gratitude for" and then I take 15 minutes to just sit up, look around and be mindful. Whether it be appreciating the weather or the comfort of my bed. This seems totally unrelated, however, it will help shift your mind from focusing on difference/conflict and separation. Focusing on only conflict and difference, invites your mind to separate itself from life. To stop the cycle, mindfulness plays a huge role, as the difference in the grand scheme, would not bother us, and we would not allow ourselves to absorb lower vibrations. We could still be around family, but we do not have to absorb their vibration when it is low. We are not hopeless little beings. We are not "too woke" for others either, or we are not these exceptions where we are better than others. The reason we can not relate to others and situations, is because separate ourselves from life. We may be lacking consciousness and awareness of the background, or the things we have in a constant, ex. unconditional love, food, technology, opportunity, etc. Gain tactfulness and understanding. Life is not an event that happens to us. You regard yourself as everything vent to happen to you. Shift your view and act as if the external world is you, because the external world, is you. Your family members are not the cause. Once you focus, on not separating yourself and on differences and become mindful of the similarities, see yourself as one with them, your bond and love will grow with them. Understand and try to be empathetic as to why they may be acting on a lower vibration, and fuel your thoughts into *not reacting, but rather responding with a higher vibration regardless. Do not let yourself absorb the lower vibration. Once you express your higher vibration it will become contagious once they become aware that acting on a low vibration around you does not serve them.* Of course, set healthy boundaries but always respond from a understanding pov. Your bond should grow with family once you stop separating yourself. We need to ascend this myopic view that life and our outer experience is the problem. Maybe you have developed a spiritual ego? Spirituality in fact is not about separation, it is about realizing and focusing the similarity of everything. Maybe mindfulness would help. Gratitude lists, as we tend to focus on the differences in our life that separates us more than the things we disregard in the background, that is all the same and constant. ex. I used to focus on all the problems in my life, and disregarded the things I had. Expand your awareness to focus on the things that do not separate you from life, and you will find yourself harmonizing with people and family. Remember, what is disorganization and conflict on one level, is peace, harmony and love on a higher level. Overcome the idea that difference in level, equals separation. Space does not mean separation. Be mindful of what is in a constant. We must not create s=this spiritual ego, or spiritual identity where we feel and act as if the world around us is the problem. Once we ascend that view, we can progress. But do not worry, this set back, is an opportunity to receive life long wisdom. If anything, view this setback as an opportunity to learn how to be unity with family, strengthen bonds, and improve. What is a set back now, which is being unable to relate with family and seeing them as if they lowering your vibration, is wisdom on a higher level, where we come to terms that we do not have to attach ourselves to the lower vibration, or separate ourselves from others in order to ascend in our spiritual path, I hope and wish you well on your spiritual journey sending lots of positivity man!

One if my best friends is a narcissist... but as I like to say, a "useful" narcissist. His knowledge and experience is something I am drawn to, and it broadens my knowledge base, and life's passions. Conversations, like you said, are pretty much one-sided... he very rarely asks questions of me. Spending time with him is slowly becoming easier because I simply understand how he is. Sure, it can be frustrating, but I look at the playoffs of the friendship... which are consistently good. I have been drawn to narcissists in the past since I deal with self-worth issues. Being with a cocky narcissist helps bolster me. In the past year, I have been picking and choosing the narcissists in my life, separating the useful ones, and eliminating the energy vampire ones. Eliminating the latter has been a wonderful self-gift. I deal with a lot of unconscious folks. What helps bring them to the moment is asking them questions, a lot of questions... sometimes it makes them uncomfortable to be brought to the surface of reality. What is interesting is that these people are not stupid... they are just set in their ways, and have stock answers. At a certain point, it becomes fruitless... and its time to smile, nod, move on. One device creates the unconscious, TV. Those who consume the programming, do so uncomsciously, and are themselves, programmed by is consistent presence. I see this daily. I haven't had TV in 21 years. It gives me an excellent perspective on society. Peace

An old friend of mine is in the Christian church and he is always preaching at me ...... I myself am not religious at all, I believe in “God” in a different way , that is to say I believe that I AM God and all of creation is God... all is one and that there truly is no “self”. So as you can imagine for a long time he would preach the church’s rule book at me and tell me that I was lost . I would try over and over trying to explain my belief too him in the hopes that he would eventually understand that I’m not like him and accept it... but he would always try to change me to believe what he does with a one sided lecture on a semi daily basis. I would become very frustrated and even angry at times. But over time I realized that if I could relent my reaction to his dogma that he would force the issue less and less. Now a days we still each believe what we believe but we don’t argue anymore. He stills goes on about his “church stuff” all the time but I just let it in one ear and out the other, not reacting at all anymore. I think possibly before I was reacting in frustration because I saw him as brainwashed and fully asleep, while I was on my path of awakening..... but then it dawned on me that my frustration was actually with myself because in thinking his beliefs were trivial and narrow minded, I embraced ego thinking I was somehow above him... truth is no one is above anyone. We are all on a journey of sorts and we are all exactly where we are meant to be and move along evolving at the pace that is our own. We are one being of consciousness and love and that is beautiful..... Loved this video, great insight! ONE LOVE ❤️

@We The North - It was interesting to read your story and I agree on most points. The one thing I'm not so sure about is the idea of " ....we are all exactly where we are meant to be and move along evolving at the pace that is our own".......On the surface this sounds nice and may be somewhat true for the average person. However, we must remember that we have some very evil behaving people in this world who will kill you for your shoes and wallet, and others who r*pe children and kill people for fun. We can't possibly say that "they are exactly where they are meant to be". Yes, they are deeply unconscious to be harming people so severely like this, but we must be careful to not whitewash people's bad behavior. We need to call out bad things and correct people's behavior too.

@@IKARIANOFFICIAL Thank you for your reply. I totally understand where your coming form. Yes there is a lot of ugliness here and it all comes from pain and choices. When I was young both of my parents were abusive . My father made my mother , my brother and I live in fear of his temper and we would be hit if he felt we got in his way. My brother and I are half brothers with different fathers. My blood father is the man I’m speaking of here, he adopted my brother before I was born. My brother never met his blood father, my father was the only father he ever knew. My mother hated my father and never treated me with love because she hated my father and I was the product of that bad relationship. She poured all her love on my brother and and never approved of me. As you can imagine this made me grow up feeling unloved and unwanted. My parents divorced and my dad moved far away and didn’t bother with me much at all to this day, and my mother lives in complete denial of her neglect too me. When she was angry she’d say “your just like your father”with disgust in her voice. Because I knew how much she hated him it was the meanest thing she could say too me. I tell you all of this because I went through tremendous pain all my life by feeling completely alone and unwanted. It took many many years for me to recover and let go of all the pain inside me. All though my teenage years I acted out and got into trouble a lot. But when I had my kids I swore to myself that I would never be like either one of my parents..... and I wasn’t . I never raised a hand too them and I tell them I love them all the time. They are all grown up now and live healthy lives. I guess my point is that there is ugliness and pain everywhere and we are victimized through no fault of our own which can turn us into people we don’t want to be and essentially become like those who harmed us. All I did was make the decision not to be a victim and it broke the cycle of hurt that surely would have continued if I had not. We have no control on what others do, we only have control of what we do.I am not sitting here blowing my own horn by any means, it’s just how it worked out. My point is that no one is born evil, they become that way through cause and effect of their environment. Everyone has a choice even if at the time they can’t see it. I believe everyone is worthy of redemption and happiness. Even though I suffered a lot of pain and to this day neither one of my parents acknowledge what they did too me I feel that I am free and always was. I learned a lot about myself and how “life” here really works. I was where I was meant to be and I still am. There is a beautiful movie I saw a couple of years ago that deals with this very topic . It’s called “the shack”. I highly recommend it because it makes it easier to understand. Thank you again for your feedback, I appreciate it. I hope everyone living in pain out there can find the path out of it and live the lives they deserve. ❤️

At my age and with my history, I cannot believe I found someone speaking about something I have been actively trying to accomplish. Emotional reactivity teaches you so much about yourself. I went through the dark knight of the soul beginning August 27, 2019. It was frightening. I am growing learning loving more more more every second of my being. I never understood why people call it the dark night of the soul. Your soul doesn’t have to go through any darkness as your soul is pure, infinite, divine love and light. Your soul doesn’t go through enlightenment because your soul has always been, is, and will continue to be the pure essence love and light. Instead, I like to call the process of awakening; the dark night of the ego.

Practice “detached compassion” as described in The Diamond Sutra. Commit to detached compassion daily. You learn as you go. Keep on. I fell in love with people I disliked, avoided & looked down on.

I would distinguish between love and acceptance. I love my daughter. I think that statement would be diminished by saying, "I use to hate X, but now with compassion I have come to love X." "I now love X," seems to cheapen, "I love my daughter." For me, I love my daughter and accept X for who they are. That fits better for me.

@@diegooland1261 I didn’t experience that. When I was young and first learning to drive I made the decision to never feel mad at crazy drivers - at first it was fake- I was holding in the urge to flip em off back .. lol! As time passed the anger feeling all went away , so much so a lady rear ended me and was shocked that I greeted her with a smile - and it was genuine, I did not feel one bit angry or anything negative - it was hard for her to accept as she was expecting rage . So I think if we practice it can become real . Unfortunately I have not mastered this in all areas , but still it's better to keep quiet when someone is heated , even if they are angry , your silence is like water to their fire . I see anger as a waste of my time , energy and emotions now ... It's like why get caught up in that vibration ? If you practice by faking not being angry you might realize how much energy u saved by not getting caught up in it and pretty soon what was a struggling effort to contain becomes your go to ❤️ I have a long way to go , but I have come far too ❤️💐❤️💐❤️💐❤️ on my personal journey to a higher vibration life.

As I become aware of my stuff, and pray for a clear mind, rooted in the intention of love, I see the experience with them as an out picturing of my “stuff”. And, instead of diagnosing them, I can observe the roots, call in grace, and practice self love and patience, they no longer become a concern at all! 🙏🏾

I then began to scrutinize each one of those constitutions to access if it truly resonated with me / felt authentic to me or not. For example, I considered myself an animal lover, but my actions didn't align with my philosophy. Watch yourself like you're watching a stranger, and you'll begin to peel away those facades. In many ways this is the perfect presentation, an idealistic and stereotypical generic spiritual prose. Monks don't get married because of the sheer hell one has to go through, not to mention having children, dont have regular jobs, dont deal in finance or politics. Hermits retreat for a reason. Spiritual masters and gurus retreat from every day life for a reason. They move away from the noise, the people that are unconscious or normal people in society. If you get some asshole in a place where he wants to hit you, you either got to fight or run or be willing to be trampled on. People that want to hijack you, steal your phone at knife point or just a girl friend thats desperate for drama and attention sometimes the only way is to remove your self from the hectic life and hectic people. Real examples of this is the Dali lama leaving Tibet which is now under Chinese rule, if he stayed he would be imprisoned. What spiritual person would actively choose imprisonment over freedom. Another example is martial arts being developed and used by monks defending themselves from attack.

Thank you for this wonderful video that has shed some clarity on how to deal with unconscious people. I never knew I would feel so lonely, I am not ashamed to say this but even my wife doesn't realise the suffering of my plight spiritually when I was seeking some comfort. No one could understand the immense pain, frustration and resentment. I never knew what a suicidal depressive person was thinking until the past few months back, I could feel the hopelessness. I tried talking to her and the people around me, but I could tell they rather be in their unconscious state rather than be actively listening. I managed to climb out of that hole now, but I just wanted to share, no matter how much you're struggling and when no one wants to listen, I invite you to just focus inwards and keep praying to fight the urge. I have my own ruling reason to live for and I believe most of us have one and I just encourage you to just be laser like and focus on it. Nothing and no one else matters. Pain and suffering is not unending and unbearable, always remember that. You'll get through this, I promise. Blessings

This is really good. I study cult manipulation techniques and I was worried a video on this topic would go towards Us vs Them divisive thinking, but you avoided that pitfall beautifully. It’s not about them, it’s about me, my reaction, going inward, which allows them their freedom and inspires me to compassion towards them. I like the model that I exist to be the universe experiencing itself. Any being with senses is of value for this reason, even through suffering. And that my interactions with others are yet another way for the universe to experience itself in two directions: through me and the other person. That gives me a sense of neutrality, that yes, I feel more awakened than many people, but that doesn’t make me better, and that the interaction of both outlooks is itself of value, and that value is magnified by the interaction. If the interaction is toxic, it’s on me to protect myself, sure, but objectively, the interaction is just a drama play for the universe to experience through the both of us.

There are two kinds of understanding. There is the intellectual understanding, which is very useful, but also quite limited. And then there is a deeper understanding which comes from awareness. And there is also some degree between the two. But the deeper the awareness, the deeper the understanding. And from that level of understanding our illusions fall away naturally. We often begin with just the intellectual understanding, having read or heard some explanation from someone, but sometimes we confuse this for that deeper knowing. Once the mind has grasped some idea or concept, we tend to think we have fully understood it. But we need to go beyond that and see by our own observation and awareness. Sometimes this can be an ongoing process, in the sense that awareness is gradually deepening. So we may not understand it fully all at once. We just have to stay with it, coming back to it again and again, going more deeply each time. Sometimes letting go happens in segments. We let go a little more each time. And each time our understanding deepens a little more. The important thing is to be patient with the process... to be gentle.. to be relaxed with it. The more we relax with it, the deeper we go.

BEWARE when you set out on your quest to be awakened. There is a dark and lonely side to being conscious. Some of you reading this will know exactly what I mean. I've been awakened for over 15 years now and it gets very lonely. Don't get me wrong.....I still wouldn't want any of those people back in my life. However the older and wiser I get (48) I realize that the only people I ever meet who are awakened are on youtube. The ONLY people I resonate with are youtubers. I see quite a few that are awakened. I have never met any of them or spoken with them. I hike in the woods a lot and I bike a lot and I'm alone a lot. If I am truthful, I would tell you that I no longer like humans. I love nature and animals and God and Jesus and angels and spirits.

Yep, it is a very lonely existence. I wish I had at least one like minded friend, but just like you I don't know anyone except here on RU-vid.

In some ways yes, or you can be that gift to yourself, I love my space, I love my life without people. I have a job currently but when I'm not working I'm in my sanctuary and intimate with the brilliance of the universe.

Same here but don't forget that fear of being alone is what keeps many people in dreadful relationships. As a bonus I would say that I've noticed there's more and more like us now though.

Totally agree .. 💛 Thank u very much .. If we could see our selves in everyone outside ... There will be no uncouscious people .. They will be our teachers that point to the unhealed wondes inside of us .. And rather than curse them and refuse them .. We will thank them and accept them as they r ... With this openess and acceptance they willingly begin to change 💙

I have begun to see people that cause conflict inside me as teachers of life too. My reactions become doorways where I can view deeper into who and what I am and what impulses tend to pull me away from an inner peace.

This has been a particular problem for me since grade school, when I became a "professional" reader. Books like Dune, and other Sci-fi philosophical faves...I gave up finding "my people" decades ago. I am now 60. I am not better, smarter, or anything. I am just "different" and it made my life difficult, but I persevered. I am mostly alone, and it's OK. P.S. my own husband is "unconscious", he was an engineer:) Smart man, with numerous superficial friends;)

I really struggle with people ,I woke up 5years ago,and I find myself very alone in the way i act think and feel, most people shut off, especially my parents, they have to be the most shut off. They look at me as big head because I'm advising them how to deal with life, there very stuck ,,which in turn is quite upsetting sometimes,,but knowing by this video there is light at the end of the journey, makes me feel warm and content, thanku 🙏

Very good video. I admit I disliked the title when youtube recomended this, since labeling people as "unconscious" sounded like arrogance (an ego-driven reaction). I was happy to see you address that it's all quantitative, not a matter of "awake" vs "unconscious" and judement of others is a reaction of the ego too. A little ironic considering I was already judging when I clicked the video haha. Stay conscious my man.

Of the intimate immediacy of rapport, we are that person who may or may not necessitate compassion. The metaphor of one's center often creates the illusion of self and the other. The term ego boundaries are not static shields but rather a gracious, even graceful involvement with the interactive energies. Benevolence is much less a matter of proactive engagement or reactive responses, as it is a humility -- not to serve or nurture -- but to naturally interconnect and relate with as sincerity ensues. Spontaneous wisdom is non-conceptual, but what a good friend indeed.

Projection. The outside is mirror-like. I see things in others I don't accept in myself. Lots of inflated superiority feelings as well. I agree lots of resentment towards life in general bottled-up. Great non-judgemental channel. One problem online is many people who don't hesitate to put themselves on display do so because of their egos and the ones who are hesitant to do so hesitate because they see their flaws and dont want to lead others astray. I've heard a quote that the people we most need in our lives in order to learn are the people in it right now.

This is brilliant & just what I needed to hear as I am going through a situation atm with a collegue, he obviously isn't aware or is totally arrogant, he created a totally unecessary situation at work which really suprised/shocked me & I am finding it vert difficult to let go.. So much wasted energy, I am so frustrated with myself as to why I am being triggered so much by him.....?? Thankyou for this realisation to look within myself as to why my strong emotions & energy.... i can't even talk to him. Thankyou again🙏
