I was thinking that when I went back to previous videos! So the $160k you spent, did that take into account the halving of set booster allocation? Wishing you the best with this situation, like the attitude of getting down, rolling up your sleeves and working to fix this
Hey buddy, let me please remind you that burning the candle at both ends, losing sleep, and stress will eventually take a long-term toll on your health. Right now you are a young guy but long term you will have to find ways to mitigate these issuesSo that you don’t burn out with a bunch of health problems by the time you’re 50. Your positive attitude will help you a lot. I wish you the best of luck.
Sucks to hear people were taking joy in your suffering, hope you dig out sooner than later. I know the pain as a fellow traveler in the space that owns a store that deals in product such as this.
Love the honesty and showing everyone the hurdles of a LGS, look forward to future videos on the evolution of commander masters. I know youll crush it and continue scaling the business.
I also went quite hard on CMM product, cracked 250+ cbbs and have sold nearly 40k in singles on tcgplayer since monday. It's not too hard to get out of this hole because the singles are still really good and people want them.
Luckily for the store owners the prices are going back up quick thanks to low supply and high demand. A bit unfortunate for us players but you guys really need it right now clearly, sorry the set was such a bust for you guys.
Love seeing more videos from you. There’s no doubt in my mind that you’ll be fine long-term. Not listing the singles right away was a very smart move and with how much prices have risen since Friday/Saturday, you’ve certainly saved yourself a ton of money by choosing to hold off
It sounds like you are a reasonable businessman who understands the situation You are planning and you will overcome this hurdle Keep us updated! I loved the … “to all the lol guys .. gfy!” Haha :-)
Love seeing the redemption! Keep the series going into tomorrow for sure! Would be interesting to see how day 3 goes, especially knowing you had so many sales within 1 hour with that .99 shipping
Hey bro. I think the market has this set wrong. I think it is going to sell slowly and be successful in the end. But this is what happens when they have 2 high priced sets release right after each other. The normal everyday people that bought into lord of the rings haven’t had their wallet padded again yet. I think set boosters are the way to go in the end. When the singles in the set recover. Which they will over next few weeks. I think wizards only mistake here is releasing 2 premium sets back to back. I realize you work on percentages just like the rest of us. I’d almost lean into other games. Lord of the rings drained the average consumer of mtg. They haven’t recovered enough to drop the kind of money wizards wants for this product.
Rob, we run on demands for CMM. Only need a 4 man pod. You should be at a break even with our structure of $50 a draft. 3 packs to winner of pod, pitty pack for everyone else.
Good luck Rob. I may have a business trip to LGA/EWR. Will see if I can stop by your shop and pick up some stuff next week to help out and say hello! Keep pushing forward!
Loving this attitude, make the most out of the situation. Ignore the haters on social media, that's just what it is If I buy from ya, is it better if it's direct from your site or tcgplayer (in terms of fees etc) Keep up the good work 👍
Roka hammering away in the background this entire time lol. Oooooo! I wonder if I could get hired to work like random hours here and there. I think I have two years of sorting and selling experience lol.
hey man you gotta list that bulk dude, prb more money there than you realize bring me on, ill do my day job remote and list your bulk while Im in my meetings 🤣
Silly question. How do you stay profitable at 99 cent shipping? I'm worried about sending product machinable. So I've been sending non machineable at 1.06...add in the top loader, sleeves tape and envelope and in at roughly a 1.42...any tips would be greatly appreciated lol
You’ve got this. It sounds like you need to work that TCGplayer route. I buy cards all the time. What’s your store name, on tcg player? I’ll try to look for you when I buy cards.
I feel like if you're doing "local" you really need to make people want to come to the store and sell drinks and snacks as a side hustle and generally things that provide additional revenue. From personal experience I will be humming and hawing over paying 2 bucks for this or that card but then don't blink an eye for "overpaying" on a drink or snack or eating out.
Unfortunately wotc have booted ALOT of its customers away from its products because of its greedy horrible choices. Will they learn? Who knows. Sad as shite though. I love mtg but I refuse to buy boxes anymore and it sucks. Thankfully sorcery contested realm is a thing!!! God bless and good luck friend
Really terrible how WOTC treats retail stores. Jacks up the price they have to pay on sealed product and then basically competes with them directly on amazon.
I still got no clue why you dug such a deep pit for yourself lol was there even a tiny chance this was gonna pay off? Selling bulk with 99c shipping is definitely profitable with an employee, especially with the level of inventory you have. Even with free over $5 shipping, it would still be profitable, but the workload might end up being too high for one person. At my peak I was doing like 150 orders a day by hand and I only had maybe 10k inventory, you have 300k...it won't be perfectly 1 to 1, but I'm sure you'd still do at least 2-400 easily
@@rng-gamez Would love to see you cover some videos/topic on Pokémon. I learn a lot from your past videos on Magic, even though I don’t collect Magic. I work from home trying to operate selling platform via online sell Pokémon!
Glad you could survive the financial loss. It's Hasbro's fault for not having MSRP and for undercutting you guys by selling on Amazon directly and fire-selling products below distributor costs. They steal money from you with bad sets. LSG's deserve a reasonable profit margin on the products they sell. Chris Cox and management at Hasbro need to go. The 30th Anniv boycott didn't last long enough for them to get the message.
