I'd really like to start making my own builds but it's pretty daunting, I don't know the skill tree very well and all the uniques. I'm going to try a tanky staff fire inquisitor with energy shield, block and armour defensive layers I think staff is super cool but worry that wand+shield is just better but then it's possible that it should be health not energy shield. Dunno will have to get on PoB and play
way too basic es block and armor arent 3 defensive layers those are more like 2 since you cant really have high armor and high es without investment and block isnt a real defensive layer
Jung's great. I like a lot his mentality towards the game, as he seems to always be aware that fun comes first no matter what. His builds are quite insane also! Also very happy to see you continue the trend with these collabs/mini-podcasts. Very nice job Ziz, even going as far as making small edits like including clips and pitcures rather than just showing 2 people talking. Appreciate all the work man!
I’m new to this game… but I’m having a lot of fun with lightning witch I’m lv 26ish and I can do up to 600 damage with a single hit and it’s ace… I don’t really know what is cool or not nor powerfull but I have fun
that's great man! not an easy game to learn by any means but there are so many resources online at the moment that can just make it a little less intimidating :) as for the damage, if it feels good to you then its probably okay. don't worry about it too much and enjoy the first-time experience!
You have no idea how much I would give to be you. Experiencing PoE for the first time was incredible. I am super burned out with the game the past few leagues because of some design choices, so enjoy your time and take it slow.
Great video. Jungroan is great because he has such a mind for the game and a creativity to make insanely unique and powerful things come together. Love watching his longform Boss rush SSF vids
I feel there's such a large gap between these type of players and the large majority of the playerbase...jung says there are no goals because you can blast through everything while every single player I know including myself will probably never beat the ubers even in this league.
I feel like the main skill that is lacking in a lot of players who have never beat Ubers is how to choose a good build that can scale to the endgame, which is Ubers of course. This of course involves a lot of analysis in POB with the hardest part actually being the mid-game (that pesky part when your entire gear is 50c but each piece of your next upgrade path is 2-3 divines). This is why I always advise friends trying out POE to never rely on noob-trap builds like RF; it's the worst scaling curve for newbies because it lets you coast all the way to red maps then suddenly you hit a huge brick wall because your DPS is garbage and can't tickle even Uber Shaper unless you invest 50-100 divs. Of course, you could self-craft if you know what you're doing but if you knew what you're doing and wanted to clear Ubers, you wouldn't be maining RF.
@@ocping I don’t see RF as a noob trap. I see RF as an amazing introduction into endgame, it’s much easier said than done to just start and understand a meta build, get to endgame, clear Ubers and all that. Pohx guides new players step by step up to reds and all of the information you learn along the way is what helps enable you to get into meta builds/crafting.
I've preached for years of how insane Dark Pact is, it's not getting nerfed due to lack of people playing it. Glad to see Jung mentioning that being a sleeper. Great video btw, enjoyed it very much :) GG jung
I think the main issue is that how skills/stats interact with each other, and what uniques are available are not readily available to the average player.
LOVED this video. Listening to two people who now so much about the game bounce stuff off each other is so entertaining. Ziz do yourself a favor and get Jungroan on as many future podcasts as you can
On the note of what Jung said about being able to tank Altars while doing juiced t16s without looking at the mods, I managed to create an RF Inquisitor that does just that... in standard.. after 9 months and 6+ mirrors lmao. Even then i still get one shot every once and a while from something, happens more often when I run Searing Exarch altars (1 death every 100 maps or so) I have no idea how you would do this in league.
It was impossible for a long time, but it might not be impossible with Fourth Vow. I guess we'll see how you standard boys take advantage of the chestpiece.
@@sn1kzZe It makes armor reduce chaos taken from hits. An armor stacker wearing that chest is probably the only way to actually survive extra phys as chaos altars.
I start cyclone slayer every time and will always do that because spinning is the most fun part of every video game. After the cyclone rework 400 leagues ago it's been even more fun!
I dunno about that one chief. I wouldnt put jungs name in the same league as lance and mathil, they are kinda omegalul softcore mad scientist builds. Jung actually makes good builds.
NGL i always play 2 builds, a "meta" build i follow, for currency, and then my fucking abomination builds, where i just pick a skill and try to make something fun/cool i love playing like this since i love building im just dog-shit at it
I did my own starter last league from scratch. Went really well, one of my best builds. Tried it again this league: went terribly so I rerolled to something I'm more comfortable with. Been fun though.
I love content like this! Please make more! I was completely sleeping on wind dancer. I wasn't even aware of the 40k evasion threshold. Now it's a goal of mine
I was listening to the whole thing and when I heard ziz said "The league is so fun and so boring at the same time" I really felt that. The crucible tree can really open up a lot of builds, in fact I also wanted to do the armor stacker with replica dreamfeather and the infernal blow/tectonic slam mod. But I got so bored out I actually semi quitted the league, idk if I will be back or just be gone until 3.22, would still be interested to see people putting up new build ideas with crucible tree tho.
This was a great vid. I've got a couple k hours in PoE at this point so obviously I've seen his name but this was great exposure for him. A lot of the topics here resonated with me, will for sure pay more attention to him and his build vids ^^
as a new player, i hated being told to follow meta i feel like another copy and paste build which isnt mines. i would follow some to get and idea where im going then branch off a bit to sorta make it my own personal thing also im budget and casual as it gets im being told to follow this build which needs 200 divines like i havent found no more than 2 divine since i started lol. i also cannot stand meta, i know its number chasing and thats find but i just genuinely want my own personal end and not another copy and paste in the end. that being said, following a guide is great but i dont think it should be pushed as a mandatory thing from what i see with folks pushing onto us newbies like you cannot exp something or allowed to make any mistakes
i almost never play meta builds, not for any hipster reason just cause i feel alot of the time they are just incredibly boring builds, i only made a boneshatter this league cause i got stuck for a long time in ssf and just needed a way to progress until i can go back to my old build
There is NO SUCH THING as "Meta build"! It is just someones theory that their build is good, others will have their own "meta". To top that off, many RU-vidrs and Twitch players plagiarize content and just babble without knowing how, what, and why things are chosen. So 5 people copy the same crap and they THINK it is meta? LOL. Note: I don't make builds, I am one who just uses other builds. I am simply making a point that you need to judge a build based on your knowledge, you cannot just assume "oh this is meta because some clown in a blue hoodie on Twitch said it was". Also, most games have drops that are controlled by RNG. This means that you will not likely be able to follow a build exactly because your gear won't be the same. But if you understand the build, you can tweak it based on your personal gear until you can get close to the build you follow. Just because player A can do something with a build does not mean player B will perform the same (his gear won't match, his playing skills won't match, etc)
This Manaforged Arrows Support looks AMAZING or is it just me??? You can have two 6 links skills and one of them auto casts while you spam your mainskill???
It still definitely feels like the game is bloated with all the league mechanics that have been added to core. The only time it didnt feel so, was during Scourge, whenever the krangled maps would give you so much currency from other league mechanics (simulacrum splinters, legion splinters, breach stuff, scarabs etc).
What i would like from poe from most important to least - Let me level alts in maps if i want to, after i completed the campain once !! i only play 1 char per league and quit because of the campain even tough i would like to play more (give us a mod on the map device that says " monsters are in a 0-2 level range from your character while normal is 0 blue 1 yellow 2 and just give us the passive points on level steps like every 5 level or something) !! - in the atlas you sould be able to select aTraining mode dropt down menu where you can fight all the big bosses normal or uber mode (you get no loot and xp but you dont need something to open it) - no xp loss in standart league or atleast not to level 96 note: im on 1144h in poe so im not an expert im on a low to middle ground and i think my points would improve the game alot from early to mid exp players witouth ruining something for the top end
About rares and map bosses. Remember when map bosses were harder? They were made easier and their rewards were increased because people complained for years that "map bosses aren't worth doing because they take 5 seconds and don't drop anything." I think their philosophy is like: "Challenge leagues are optional content, therefore it should be more challenging" and the power we have is so huge there really no way to challenge players except for: a) make things tanky AF b) make things have phases that require you to do something else than just DPS (like Exarch, Eater, Maven, Shaper) c) bullshit on kill effects/sneaky lightning dot ground effects/things that take away your recovery like Maven beams PoE will never be "perfect" as long as we're constantly trying to eat our cake and keep it too. We can't be "challenged" and "blow up everything within 2 screens no matter what it is" at the same time. There hasn't been a single bit of challenging content in the game for years that has not been considered shit by the community since Delirium. The only ways for GGG to "win" is to cash out, give up and let the game run on Standard until it dies or make PoE 2 into a completely different game where game is hard and speed is more like we're back to 2014 and we get to do the whole power creep rollercoaster ride all over again.
Actual jungroan build guide: You use this skill, it's very good, don't forget to use this combination and this interaction to get the most out of it. What's that? You want me to explain further? Get lost n00b.
If bosses were as hard as rares now, imo it would severely gimp atlas progress and as such, farming and growing your gear to be able to tackle said rares. You'd be stuck in low maps for way longer and that's a boring experience. With map bosses being less HP, you can progress to farm better gear faster, due to atlas tree and map tiers giving higher ilvl affixes.
you gut jung scratching his chin at 8:10 with that build idea Great vid - love getting jung's thoughts. Also lol at "arent you a school teacher?" imaging jung being an elementary school teacher and being like, "Ok kids, today we're going to watch an important youtube video"
literally only reason why i dont play hc is how spiky the game is right now Like sure alot of it you can sorta avoid like seeing a rare with certain mods or giving an extra look on altars or whatever to make sure you dont pick something absurd for your build but even then there are so many times where im just cruising along and in less than half a second im just dead from...i dont know something ? even on my jugg RF sometimes i just melt or get close to oneshot because of one out of a million reasons XD there are so many things to pay attention to in order to avoid that i just dont feel like HC is the thing for me because of it
I wanna make a stick chucker deadeye that uses Staff and Spectral Throw and maybe block with all the dex dodges and suppression. Any ideas to make it cool or is it just a basic build? Should I try to add in Energy Shield or maybe Increase Potion Duration and add Soulthirst belt for insane attack speed?
As a 10 year solo guy ... you dont need a nimis a hh or a mageblood to make dope builds. Im playing poison bow coc explode totems because I rolled the totems on my 12 div coc bow ..why not try it.
most of the time when I theory craft my own builds i get stuck at ~1 mil dps (with gear I could realistically craft or buy), and it just makes me sad so I don't even bother playing it.
15:10 honestly i thought about this in depth and it came to my realization that spell suppression is created all this chaos in player defenses. Now you have to balance the game around spell supp in a way where ppl who has it are not immortal, and then what happens to those who don't have it? And so they started pushing max ress higher and higher left tree side but why are we even doing this? The base line dmg for monsters should be balanced around 75% ress and no suppression but it does not feel kike that anymore. With 75% ress , 4k life and nothing else a magic monster can sometimes one tap you in t16 now. And even phys mitigation by armour is weird now. Like half what altars downsides do is remove your phys reduction and armour? And this is making it so that the ultimate defense that everyone should eventually get is phys taken as because it is the only form of defense that is not countered by any map mod or altar mod or whatever. It is not too long ago when lore weave 78% resistances were actually a big deal. Now if you are not at 80% as a left tree side you are trolling.
I totally agree i was talking with my guild about life based builds and we came to the conclusion that with so much phys as and chaos dot mods that even if you are chaos capped going ci is mandatory because of all the dumb chaos mods in game and with one node you are immune to that part of the game but it is really annoying for a minion player like me because by default ci egar is like 1000%+ more expensive when i used to be able to make a comparable life build for much cheaper but now life is just bad for minions to the point you are fing yourself by not rushing ci
my way looking at my standard stash and getting ideas using one of my toons respec and se if the idea is fun then throw curency at it till i get disssapointed or bored then play it in new league poeb i never use id rather do trail and eror ingame than not being playing
The flask changes still confuse me, the issue people voiced was how annoying it was to constantly be using them, so they added the methods of using them automatically... and nerfed most of them by almost 50% without much in return. So now we're still reliant on them, but they're just less useful, especially with flasks like granite and jade, the big nerfs these flasks took I feel really are what made grace and determination feel required for builds. On the bloat, I honestly love the amount and variety of content PoE has, it provides something different to enjoy each league without much issue, and I wouldn't really say it's overwhelming as long as you have the mentality to take it bit by bit. There's always something new to tackle and learn, most of the mechanics at least for non-ssf are skippable and can be worked around through trade until you decide to learn them if at all. Honestly if someone didn't want to learn a lot about a game why even try PoE, from the very start it had what many would consider overwhelming levels of complexity. Please bring Ultimatum back though
I find myself ignoring flask for the most part lately tbh, when in older leagues the first thing I did when I got to maps was make sure my flasks were well rolled, now all I care about is having a decent quicksilver flask (and maybe a silver flask) to go fast, and a quartz flask if I wanna delve.
