Thank You !... I had a Paper Jam inside as my Error 3 Code... I only needed to see the way in :D Torx 10 was the proper fitting for mine, got in with a T9 tho.
Hi Cleaning did not help BUT I noticed the encoder strip had come out of the reader on the carriage. gently lifted it and placed it between the 3 plastic taps so it could read it again. closed up and worked perfectly ! thanks for heading me in the right direction (I'll pull out jammed paper more carefully in future)
For me it wasn't the cleaning of the strip that worked but realising that the carriage wasn't moving and the black ink cartridge that I'd just changed wasn't sitting correctly. I'd just cocked up in the way I had inserted the cartridge. Once I got the cartridge inserted correctly I just re-assembled the thing and it worked. i could have spent hours sorting out this error code. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction

I have an HP deskjet 3700 printer. It has an E3 error. I have changed the ink cartridges; took it apart and looked for a paper jam; wiped the ribbon thing down; updated the drivers; unplugged it and plugged it back in. it still has the E3 error....

I have to same error. I opened the printer and found out that not only the encoder strip, but also another black longer strip below the encoder strip has broken in my printer. The other strip is opaque, black and sturdier. What is the name of that strip? It connects the two pulleys/wheels on the sides of the printer. It lies below the encoder strip. Can I buy it separately and replace the broken one? Can I buy the encoder strip and change the broken one. I need to change both. I don't know how both broke without doing anything at all. Please reply as soon as possible. Please help.🥲
are you talking about the belt? It seems difficult to find spare parts online, maybe you should go to printer repair shops, maybe you can buy second hand parts there, because I only use the parts for broken printers.

@@jaytechpinoychannel Thank you for responding so quickly. I already removed the carriage and put it back on and it can move normally, even when you turn on the printer it moves and when you do the reset it also moves. But the E3 error continues to appear. Thank you so much.
if the encoder strip is removed from the position printer is detecting error, E3 error in the printer is general error sometime paper jam or carriage problem or they have foreign object inside printer

Thus video is more annoying than a broken printer and leaves just as many mysterious unknowns in my mind. Thanks for making me decide to just go "office space" on this b****. Ahhhhhhhh starting to feel better already
yes po kug same problem check mo yung mga gear baka may foreign object sa loob baklasin yung sa printhead unit nya at manual paikutin ang mga gear forward reverse.
@@jaytechpinoychannel bakit sabi ng technician ko bawal punasan o linisin yung strips na yun? Kasi parang may marks ng mapa mapang brown yung strips ng hp ko. Sabi ko lilinisan ko, pero sabi nya hindi raw pwede linisan yun. Dapat daw palitan na. Kasi dapat nga raw yun medyo brown pa talaga kulay. Pag nagkulay transparent na, hindi na nababasa ng sensor. Kaya palitan nalang ng bagong strip ang solution nya.

ang problema po nyan board or yung sa scanner motor nya di sya nag inizialize try mo po ulit off/on ang printer tignan mo yung scaaner nya kung gumagalaw tapos need po palitan ng motor scanner kung same problem parin board faulty na po sya.
@@aizabue5342 sira na motor nyan mahirap maghanap ng mabibilhan nyan ng spair parts kasi ginagawa ko kumukuha ako ng parts sa ibang mga sirang printer, sa mga printer shop baka maka bili ka nyan secondhand
I took my printer apart,but the problem did not want to go away.. There is.a.small opening with a small black rubber flap. Just underneath the flap I found a paper clip. 🤪 problem resolved
