I recently got a 2006 Kyosho Pureten Gp Fazer with a GZ-15 engine. It hadn’t run in 6 years. It would idle but would die as soon as you applied throttle. I watched around 10 video’s on RU-vid in regards to tuning nitro engine’s with no luck on getting it running right, before I came across your video on idle gap. I set the gap and was able to go back to basics and had it tuned and running well in under 20 minutes. Setting the idle gap should be the number 1 thing to start with when tuning an engine. Thank you so much it wouldn’t be running if not for your video.

Your videos are a saving grace, you actually explain why and what causes any possible end to an issue with fairly any nitro engine. For example I never knew why running lean caused a higher temp. Maybe I’m slow(I know I am) but you described it in a way that even my brain could understand. My next tune will have a video of yours running as I do it. Thanks for all you do!

Thanks for the video JQ. Recently I encountered this issue with a OS AD2 that has a few gallons on it. Now i know why i had to open up the idle gap to .6mm... I appreciate the explanation!

Says all this in the kyosho manuals. Always surprises me how many people don't know about the correct idle gap.

Have a Nova Mito plus 4. Broke it in similar to your recommended. Have a about one gallon total on engine. Tuned it then learned of your idle gap method of .045 to .065 average. When I took the boot off carb and looked at slide my idle gap is definitely smaller than .045. does this mean that I'm probably lean on bottom and should the rev....idle....then rapid rev show in the form of a bog? What would the bog sound like or how do I identify that ? Thanks in advance. Great info on all vids.,..
