A laboratory scale (sometimes called a laboratory balance) is a scientific tool used to precisely measure mass (grams). In this video Justine Siew and Glorianna Tarlton describe how to use a laboratory scale with pro-tips and warnings to help you use a scale like a pro. They also describe how scientists used a laboratory scale to study the surprising decline of insect populations in pristine environments.
