2009 Toyota RAV4 V6 AWD 5-speed auto with just over 340,000 miles that I put on it myself. Routine maintenance, suspension and brakes. Engine and transmission run like new. I know it won't last forever, but it's making a hell of an effort. I'll keep it til it quits.

The owner needed your attention a 100,000 miles ago. It has run a long time. You are a good man.

I've got an '07 Accord with 225,000 miles. Runs absolutely perfectly. Change the oil every 5k miles, do regular maintenance, and you're good to go with Honda and Toyota.

I have a 1995 Lexus LS400 dark green with a gold emblem of 652,000 Miles. Got it from my dad. Original engine and transmission. Oil change every 15K miles(Mobil 1) transmission oil change every 70 K miles, timing belt water pump every 110 K miles. The rest, do the yearly maintenance. LOL Issue is the power steering fluid leak. I am keeping it.

I drive an ‘03 Corolla that used to belong to my mom that she bought brand new in the fall of ‘02, it only has 120k miles and I hope it lasts another 120k miles 👍

Love toyota and lexus vehicles. My lexus ls430 2001 has 335,000 miles. It still runs quiet. Original engine and transmission. Original starter and alternator. Just regular maintenance.

I was a Tech at a Ford dealership. Every time the car porters pressure washed an engine to make it look nice, It always came back in 6 months or so for electrical problems. Mostly corrosion on connectors.

My '06 Sequoia drives like new with over 216k miles. Had to catch up some maintenance when I bought it in 2020- ball joints, radiator, timing belt, tires- since then it has been awesome.

To your comments at the end. This is exactly why I do my best to NOT work on other’s cars anymore. I work too cheap to begin with and then they think I am “responsible” for ANYTHING that breaks after I touched it. I waved off an easy job for a neighbor the other day. I know him. If I fixed this, then he would think I am his new mechanic, working for peanuts. I’m getting too old and too wise for this. I still love doing my own work, but that’s pretty much where I draw the line. I will do any relative’s car, if asked, but I’m not the hero anymore. BTW, Great video as always!

My 2010 RAV4 with the 2AR-FE engine has 180,000 miles on it runs perfectly. It has always been well maintained.

My 2002 Lexus ES 300 with now about 167,000 miles is rattle free, tight and solid. The level of craftsmanship is unparalleled. I bought it from the original owner last April. Last summer I had the following work done: 1. Replaced all four struts last summer because the rear ones were leaking. 2. Replaced original alternator 3. Replaced original air conditioner unit because it’s starting to squeal and didn’t want to take a chance of not getting through the summer without air conditioning. Now the car sits about an inch or two higher in the back the way it was when it was new as well as the ride which is like it just came off the showroom floor. Last summer I replaced the in-dash CD changer/cassette player with a double din Alpine touch screen unit with a hard wired backup camera. And now it works smoothly with my iPhone for Google Maps and my Apple Music I wish you were closer to New York I would love to bring my car to you for a complete look over like you did with this car. I love how you take your time and evaluate everything based on experience. Toyotas/Lexus are the best cars/SUVs on the road today. dependability and reliability are unparalleled. I almost bought a similar year v6 Camry but I figured for an extra thousand or more I would get an older Lexus like mine. I searched for a one owner well-maintained and found my beautiful ES300. The original owner replaced the timing belt, water pump, and valve cover gasket at 88,000 miles. It was serviced at a local Lexus dealership in New Jersey all the way through 110,000 miles According to the Lexus owners website.

2000 Tacoma SR5 4x4' 3.4 extended cab, oil change every spring, fall. 220,000 still going strong. You have to keep up maintenance.

It is nice to see that not everything has to be perfect. Sometimes just adding parts as needed is the best course taken and have the salvage yard on speed dial when something does take a crap.

Despite all of its issues and suboptimal maintenance the car is still functional. That's a testament to the build and design quality of Toyotas. We have all seen beater Toyotas of all years and models that you see still running. I wish I could take my 2 older Toyotas to AMD for service and repairs!

I love Toyotas made in Japan. 1995 Landcruiser 4.5L inline 6 with over 400,000 miles. Will keep it forever.

I'm going to argue that this vehicle has NOT been well-maintained and you spoke of why early on- some fella that is not familiar with Toyotas, looking at retirement, etc. Couple that with 15 years in the rust belt and this is what you have. Does it have more life? Yes! But it needs a lot of this and that, as you pointed out. I think that if better oil changes had been performed, better parts and better diagnostics done, it would be in even better condition. It's amazing to me how I can have 3 vehicles in my driveway, all Toyota/Lexus, all over 100k miles (2 over 150k) and all look like new under the hood and undercarriage. You have to want to take care of them....

In Cuba we have cars from the 40s -50s still circulating around lol then again parts were made differently then.. I feel these Toyotas can easily go around for another 15 years with proper maintenance

Well done and explained video. I have 4 Toyota all over 220,000 miles with one over 320,00 and your comments are what i have been going forward with. Keep it safe and deal with the things that really need the attention as cars will have little things fail over that many miles.

I also have a 2007 Toyota Camry LE but with the 2.4 L engine. It now has 174K miles and still not a drop of oil burned between oil changes.

I own a 2003 Toyota Avalon. Original owner. Passed it down to my daughter for college. 225,000 miles on it. The key is maintenance. I religiously change the oil myself every 3-months or 3,000 miles, whichever comes first.

Our 1998 Ford Ranger 2.3 has 250,000 miles never had any parts but a new Radiator and doesnt burn oil yet......been an amazing little truck

I have a 2007 Prius with high mileage and dealing with putting things back parts like shields back on that the repair shop decided not to put back on. As I keep making the car operate better you reach a point that the cost isn't really helping the car much. This video gives me a great look into the trade offs. Thanks for your input into Toyota repair thresholds.

Proud owner of a Corolla with a tad over 236,000 miles without any issues, all original parts, and the car is getting 34-35mpg on average. Taken to Toyota every time for routine maintenance, worth every penny :)

These are things that I have to take note of, I have a 4 cylinder 2001 Toyota Camry with 170k miles on it. Never had serious problem with it. Still runs great, there’s minor leak somewhere. Other than that it’s a great car.

Still love and drive my 2005 Camry with over 350,000 kms. The early 2000's were the height of Toyota quality, including Lexus. Toronto Canada

That’s the same old school process I use. I just went to look at a truck for a friend,m. She noticed a wet spot on the frame area and drivers wheel well. It’s a small oil leak. It had been parked in the same spot for about 3 hours and hadn’t even put a drip on the ground beneath the truck. I told her it’s not leaking on the exhaust, it’s not leaving a spot on the ground, keep an eye on it and keep a check on the oil level. It’s not something that set my hair on fire when I saw it. So it’s at the evaluate and monitor stage at this point. Good advise as always, hope you and the fam are doing well my friend!!! ✌️

Loved this video. I have a 244k Acura TL and it looks so much better than this car does. I take ocd take care of it and replace parts before they go bad at times if I notice an issue (p/s whine, serpentine belt chirp etc). I do have a leak that stained the entire bottom portion with a smell Great tip on getting it cleaned up to help with the smell.

I drove an 06 Accord for 15yrs, and only did reg maintenance and only the cruise control button broke. AC got refilled once. But starting the 12ish year mark, there was some minor oil leaks. Had a Camry for nine years, and other burning oil... zero mechanical problems. This car sounds like it has a ton of work done on it... a little here... a little there.. and then more again!

Once again you gave a great presentation of what to watch out for, You are right some folks love the car willing to spend the money to keep it looking and running good.

I am shopping for a used car, maybe used Japanese cars, thank you for educating us on Toyotas

2008 sequoia 5.7L. 204k miles. Amazing condition. Paint is chipped a little. Interior is great. Engine bay is amazing. Underside is amazing. No rust.

When you smash the Thumbs Up button without even watching the video first. After watching, you smash it again, then again, lol. 2018 Corolla LE with 63K miles here. Just did a transmission fluid flush, thinking of doing a coolant flush soon. Just some minor creaking from the lower control arm, a little silicon did the trick. Hoping to reach at least 230K like this Camry but without any major repairs/replacements! Tks for another great video AMD!

I have a 1992 Corolla which I purchased in 1994 with 20,000 miles on it. So now it is 30 years old this year, and recently turned over 1/4 million miles. I do all my own maintenance, and moderate repair work. Still runs great. The clear coat on the white paint on the hood started to break down after about 15 years, but all the other paint and clear coat is original and in great shape. Things have had to replace.. starter motor solenoid, struts, exhaust manifold, rear brake cylinders, water pump, radiator, drive axle boots, catalytic converter.... that's all I can think of, looks like quite a list, but spread over 30 years, it's been quite trouble free.

Great video! If my beloved 2005 Camry LE 2.4 with 218,000 miles were on this video...you would have absolutely NOTHING ...NOTHING to write about! I bought it new (2005) and bought a new 2020 2.5 LE. In 15 yrs. and 218,000 miles...it never dripped one drop of anything!! Even the AC was never serviced in 15 yrs.! Everything was original except (of course) the four shocks/struts, front brake pads (twice), and rear brake shoes (once). I did my part with excellent maintenance...the car was built in Kentucky and is a Modern Marvel.

After market parts make this car worst than should be. Thank you Mrs TCCN and AMD.

Great video! I have a 2011 Sienna LX I bought new in 2010 with 238K miles. Just had it in to the dealership for oil change/tire rotation and had to replace the lug nuts last week. They were swollen and it was a safety issue. I keep it maintained with a trusted independent mechanic that my family has used for over 30 years. I guess you could say we’re not afraid of commitment 😆 to our old cars and mechanic! I’m in the market for a new RAV4 Hybrid, but finding one right now is very difficult. Fingers crossed that my Sienna holds up until I can find one I want and for a price I’m willing to pay. It still looks good, just foggy headlamps. Thank you for your videos!

I completely learned about thr customer only noticing things after the repair the hard way... buick with a bad shifter. Lots of scratches on the trim plate around it. Customer started screaming at us about it. Learned to note down flaws. Especially in the area of the vehicle I'm working 👍

Thank you for the informative video. My wife wanted a kia optima V6 in 2003. Purchased 9/03. Currently, 254,130. Recently replaced camshaft and crankshaft timing sensors, plugs and wires. It runs like new. I have replaced the valve cover gaskets(two years ago and radiator(4yrs.). I didn't want this car but it's been stellar. BTW, I bought a 2006 kia Sedona new. It has 285,400 miles. It has issues now but starts every time I decide to drive it. We drive the sedona 170 miles once a month to get spring water. Replaced valve cover gaskets same time as optima. Neither of these vehicles looses oil. 5000 mile interval.

Love this video. If the owner is truly serious about wanting to keep it for another 11 years, then they will simply tell you to replace everything and address everything you brought up. If they don't want to do it, then they're not serious

My 2003 LE just hit 209k miles and she is running strong! Been doing my own maintenance lately where possible, repainting where needed, and even added a spoiler.

I have a 2002 Camry LE with 211,000 mi on it (bought new). Only have done general maintenance and replaced the starter, alternator, power steering hose and belt tensioner (that was a pain). Most reliable car ever, although not living in the rust belt (California) helps.

I had this exact same issue with an aftermarket solenoid. Installed the original OEM solenoid and it worked proper ever since. It also threw many odd fault codes along with it.

Love my 2020 4R Pro, original owner and always babied. But the Fox suspension is finicky! I’ve had both fronts replaced twice now, and I have 15k miles. Doesn’t give me good feelings toward a bulletproof vehicle. Thank you for your videos!

Excellent video! I have just now had 1 year of ownership on my 2002 Sienna with 272,000 miles when I got it. I have done 1 oil change using Mobile 1 synthetic 10w30. In over 2000 miles on the new oil I had to add about 1 pint of oil. There have been zero oil leaks from anywhere. I did put new front disc brakes and rotors. I also had the timing belt changed since I had no idea when it was done last. I have no idea how many previous owners it has had. I paid $800 for it and I am amazed how well it has been. I does has have aftermarket front struts! It handles and rides very nice for its age. It has some rust but not excessive. I am to say the least very impressed and pleased so far.
