A car engine, generates power from the expansion of compressed air, in a contained cylinder with the help of fuel. That is why, it's called as an internal combustion engine.
The internal structure, of a 4-stroke, inline 4-cylinder, DOHC engine, which is commonly found in most hatchback and sedan cars. A 4-stroke engine should pass through 4 different strokes, to complete one cycle to produce power. They are intake, compression, power, and exhaust stroke. The crank to camshaft ratio is 2 is to 1. Which means it will take 2 crank revolutions, to complete 1 camshaft revolution.

* चार सिलेंडर वाला इंजन ज्यादा पावर देता है और इससे ज्यादा आरपीएम मिलते हैं।

* कम संख्या में सिलेंडर होने से इंजन का रेस्पॉन्स टाइम बढ़ जाता है, हालांकि ये अंतर बेहद मामूली होता है, लेकिन जो लोग 4-सिलेंडर वाले कार चलाते हैं, उन्हें ये महसूस हो सकता है।
* अभी 3-सिलेंडर वाले इंजन में थोड़ा और काम करने की जरूरत है। 4-सिलेंडर वाले इंजन के मुकाबले 3-सिलंडर इंजन ज्यादा शोरगुल करते हैं।
