I am 61 and had two facelifts because the first one did not work well at all . I have the deep plane now and I am happy . It took one year to recover fully . No pain though .
I live in Westchester, N.Y. About 20 mi North of NYC. I just had a smas facelift which included upper & lower eyes, fat injections to lower eye, cheeks & laugh lines. I had a surgeon with great results & views 👍🏻. Total cost in office under general anesthesia- cost me $27,000. I paid in cash so it was $25,000 in total. I am 67 & now look 47. Next - Laser treatment 😉
No one holds a gun to your head, if you want a facelift you have one, if you don’t, you don’t do it. Adam never pushes anything on anyone, he also doesn’t demand money up front for consultation.
Thanks for this video, explains very comprehensively, alot of what I'd like to know about face lifts...which I plan to have soon...I'll be going to Mexico next month and the cost is $6500...(that includes 6 day/night stay)
I think it would be nice to see a video of some research from you with cases of damage from hyaluronidase. If only all the doctors would read and see the pictures of all the cases in a facebook group called botched fillers and hyaluronidase damage, I think they would be interested in researching more and try to find another solutions to get rid of filler complications asap.
It's a shame in this day and age we are not allowed to grow older without being called old. I am 66 and looking back I never looked at my grandparents and thought; oh, they are so old. No, I saw the character that exuded from them.
You're very welcome to grow old. You're also welcome to wear makeup, colour your hair, have cosmetic dentistry or plastic surgery. It's called freedom.
I used to look at granny and get sad thinking I have to look all old and wrinkly in the future. I want this instead to always looks like me as much as I can!
Excellent video Dr Adam! I just saw your video about mid facelift. I was wondering if you could please explain (and if its not too much to ask perhaps make a video) when a Dr would consider mid facelift vs a full facelift?
Had a question… does early intervention with a mini lift about mid 40s help with needs for a more extreme lift later on? Can it be seen as an investment for the future? Please? :)
yes and no. a mini doesn't do much but if you know you want a facelift but not yet then its an option if you have the spare money and time. 40s is about when most people consider a full facelift for the first time. hope that helps.
Hi Dr Goodwin When preforming a neck and lower face lift is the platysma muscles sewn together to correct where the muscles have parted and is this not done through the incision under the chin not through the incision behind the ear ? As I'm sure I heard in the past the repair Of the platysma itself was through the incision under the chin
What are the implications on the thyroid and anyone suffering autoimmune and thyroid menopausal symptoms? IE isnt this going to have a long term negative outcome if you upset an already upset organ (The Thyroid?)
Hello Dr Adam, love your candid channel (that doesn’t try to sell me a creator’s overpriced skincare line)! I‘d love for you to clarify something regarding deep plane facelifts: 1) Surgeons always talk about how during a deep plane facelift, the ligaments are „released“ - that means „cut“, right? 2) Why would they need to be released/cut? I hear it‘s because when you lift the SMAS, they still pull in the wrong direction and that that tension can create an unnatural look. So…haven’t the ligaments become lax with age as well? If so, how can they pull the tissue? 3) If they are released/cut, what is put in their place? Sutures? Don’t you need attached ligaments or a replacement? Can they be re-attached in a different/youthful position? I haven’t been able to find this information anywhere.
the problem is, as you age you skull shrinks. your face no longer fits the bone. by cutting the ligaments you allow the face to fit the now smaller skull better. the discussion is around whether that is necessary. its a 50/50 call at the moment. the ligaments heal and scar tissue forms which does the same job. hope that helps. Adam Goodwin
Hi doctor is turkey a good place to have face lift, or teeth implants, as I have heard horror stories about people wear left disfigured what are your thoughts on this love your videos you are very truthful Kind Regards
I would like to have a facelift with twilight sedation and have been looking for the right surgeon for some time, I note that you don’t mention sedation on your website but is this a possibility? Thank you… J
it is but there is no real advantage. by the time you are asleep enough to accept a facelift you may as well be totally asleep as its safer. nonetheless I have done a few that way. where do you live?
@@adamgoodwinsurgery thank you for your reply. I live in Abergavenny, Wales. My sister died of a PE following surgery (she did have many medical problems) and this has made me more anxious than is ‘normal’ I suppose.
@@Camille-accessories understandably so. consultations are free and we could organise a zoom one for you and we could discuss your options if you think that's worhwhile.
@@adamgoodwinsurgery yes, I would like to arrange that, it sounds great. I’m not put off having surgery in Manchester as my daughter (who will be accompanying me for a week) can work out of her firm’s Manchester office. Shall I contact your secretary?
I am considering a neck/ face lift. I am very worried that i will look like I’ve had work done. Seeing people like Carol Burnet, Jane Fonda, Pricilla Presley, scare me. They look terrible and look like they had surgery. I need to know why they look so terrible after the work was done, especially since they would have had money to pay for the best. Please help me understand if their results are normal.
its 4 or 5 facelifts followed by too much of everything else that is the problem. you don’t notice a well done first or even second facelift. hope that helps.
I come see you Mr goodwin you'll remember me the one with tatoo under my eye lol. You actually said my face isn't that bad. You said a lower face lift and neck lift. I forgot to ask whats the difference in this then a full face lift. Plus do you remove any excess fat in the jawline and neck in the lower facelift and necklift procedure and will the platysma muscles in my neck be tightened in this procedure and what do you class as the lower face because its different for some surgeons on here. Does it improve marionette lines.
Hi Adam just a question does a facelift actually improve or get rid of marionette folds or help reduce them I've read so much that facelift alone doesn't help with this
I’m 71 and recently lost quite a bit of weight. My face is sagging. I’m single and it would be nice to find a significant other (but it’s not a top priority in my life) Men my own age are looking for women my DAUGHTERS age! They don’t want saggy wrinkly old ladies.
