Hi everyone, I missed giving specific examples. Sometimes recording starts and I forget points. My apologies! However, I put this in the written response on the website: “It’s difficult to give exact examples because every child of God is different. I rest in this thought; God is perfect and therefore His discipline will be perfect. It is up to me to respond appropriately.” I hope this provides clarity. You can check out the full response here: biblelineministries.org/q-023/ Thank you and God bless. - Jesse

Does God discipline His child by taking away a child from his or her parent..

Plenty of examples in the old testament. Every single person is created different by God, so He has a personal way to relay warnings to us and give us the perfect necessary discipline we need individually according to His will. AMEN🕊🙏🏼💜

Granted I got about 3 hours sleep last nite so my brain isn’t firing on all cylinders but did Pastor Jesse give examples of how God disciplines? Maybe I just missed it.

Hey Delta Charlie, you’re correct and I’m sorry about missing this important point. I put it in the written response: “It’s difficult to give exact examples because every child of God is different. I rest in this thought; God is perfect and therefore His discipline will be perfect. It is up to me to respond appropriately.” I hope this helps. How do we know he's disciplining us though, and it's not just a consequence for our actions?

Hi T Daniel, you are correct and I’m sorry for not providing examples. I said this in the written response: “It’s difficult to give exact examples because every child of God is different. I rest in this thought; God is perfect and therefore His discipline will be perfect. It is up to me to respond appropriately.” There’s been times when I forget points when recording. Again, my apologies! You can read the full response to this question here: biblelineministries.org/q-023/ - Jesse

So does discipline sometimes result in death? If so where exactly is that coming from in the Bible..I thought god gave us each a specific amount of time and all that.. I’m a little freaked out that he will just kill us off ! I mean that’s kinda terrifying! am I misunderstanding? I do believe in discipline from god I just didn’t think he takes people out when he does.. 😅

And the people who are sick are being punished? I think I’m a little confused

Hey there! God definitely doesn’t want you hovering in fear of Him. There’s respect and obedience, but the relationship between you and the Heavenly Father is familial. He loves you. Nevertheless, part of that love is most definitely chastening. A good daddy disciplines his children (not always a classic spanking). God is perfect at what He does, so He knows what you need. There are cases where God did take out believers because of their sin. Ananias and Saphira are the extreme examples. They lied (but we don’t know what else they had going on). John says there is a sin unto death (commentators debate specifically what this is, but I don’t believe that is the point). The other more relatable case is to the Corinthian church. Paul literally said (I summarize) “some of you are weak, sick and die” - and it was because of their sin. This doesn’t mean everything bad that happens to you is because of your sin, but Corinth had rampant immorality. God chastened them appropriately. Yes He can take you out of this world, but don’t panic! Just serve the Lord with what you have. - also, He isn’t lurking around the corner to jump out and get you every time you sin. - Trent

So is the bastards “still children of God” just illegitimate children! Are they saved just God no longer is chastening them? Seems to me the context is both the sons and the bastards are saved just one is wise and the other has departed and is not enduring chastening. Just curious thanks
@BibleLine
@BibleLine Год назад
You are considered a “bastard” if you are not his child. All who are saved are God’s children (by faith in Jesus Christ - Gal. 3:26). The point is that God chastens all His children. He isn’t going to chasten those who are his (granted, things clearly happen to unbelievers, but those who believe are in the family; the expectation is set). The passage isn’t trying to make a salvation point, but rather that God WILL and DOES chasten his children. - Trent

That's great but what does the punishment look like?
@BibleLine
@BibleLine Год назад
Hebrews 12 is a good passage to look at concerning this idea. God can punish in various ways; sickness, health, loss, finances, hurt, death, etc… The point is that we serve him so that He need not discipline us. Nevertheless, as a good Father, he will properly correct a disobedient child. - Trent

@@17aidenTake drunkenness for example;it could result in prison time,car wreck,death,health issues, financial loss etc.This is a direct result of sin.But sometimes God specifically sends punishment.I remember one time I committed a secret sin and the next day everything went wrong.Boss yelled at me, people were less respectful,hit my tires on a curb,dropped a glass of water,kept forgetting things etc. This was a direct punishment from God.Obviously our physical health is determined by our lifestyle habits and an small extent genetics.Whether your saved or not.But God can make somebody lose their mind or bring affliction on their bodies in whatever form he thinks is needful.But it's not like God doesn't view health as important, for our body is a temple.He created our bodies to live accordance to nature.Now if God just brings sickness down everytime we sin ,then all saved Christians would be suffering physically.We're all sinners and struggle with our flesh.If we were all sickly and have ill health all the time, we wouldn't have the energy to move forward in life.Or to do our best to live for God.But God sees fit for what each individual saint needs and what kind of chastisement according to the context of the situation.He knows what's gonna help His child to obey Him more.The point of chastisement is to wake us up and to serve Him.However there are some very serious sins that God can send punishment for,not simply to help us,but out of pure anger and just simply that.Like spreading a false Gospel and leading others to hell.Mocking God.Mass murder.Phedophile and more.There are some things that God can get fed up with and just decide to take somebody out of this world and take him/her home.

Colossians 3:5-6. The wrath of God comes on the children, John 1:12, of disobedience. First Corinthians 5:5. Turn such a one over to Satan to kill the flesh so that his Spirit, Ephesians 4:30 may be saved in the day of the Lord. This was a born again believer Ephesians 1:13, who was sleeping with his fathers wife. He was about to lose his life and the rewards he could have had in heaven, First Corinthians 3:11-15, but the man was still saved. God cannot go back on His promise, John 6:47, but we can be chastened by the Lord. Romans 6:23. The GIFT of God is eternal life. Discipleship is for rewards in heaven and the chastening of the Lord. Been there done that. IF we are not chastened by the Lord we are bastards and not sons.
