Congratulations to our friend Mark on a wonderful life. He is a clear example that if you Own Everything, you will be happy. Also, this is a way to cut your budget down very significantly as opposed to me who is making payments or renting.
@@satbobsmith7261if you live a western/ Filipino life style here it’s closer to 2k usd. Now if you live like this guy a long way to a mall will be less. A b-fest for 2 at mcD less than$10. I know living large! 😀
@@satbobsmith7261😂😂😂😂 Very expensive even rotten meats fish 😂😂😂😂 The fishes on the street on those hot days the flys all over Smells than how you eat better eat kfc Go to McDonald store itself smell unknowingly odd run back to kfc 😂😂😂😂😂 I haven’t step in that country over 5 years my child now over 4 years old even
In the phil. f you go out with your family with 4 member for dinner, I think you spend 20-30 USD but it depends on the fast food or restaurant. But in Jollebe, mcdo , I think under %$20 @@satbobsmith7261
You fool or hasn’t know anything about Filipinos to talk like this They’ll dry you out just go visit them but don’t have emotionally engagement with any of them you’ll see how they’ll rob you ruthlessly on everywhere trust me don’t leave your country for this country or people please
Do you also live in the same town? I live in the US now but was born and raised in the Philippines. Being practical and thrifty are two important factors in surviving the Philippines. Living out in the country gives you more bang for your buck. Most Filipinos are kind, caring, courteus and educated. They would even treat you like family once you have earned their trust. I hope you find happiness living there.
Intresting vlogg Tim. My partner has 2 houses and 2 hectares of land. We are London based she's fillipino we plan to move there ASAP mindinao. Start vlogging again over there. He seems a nice guy. One life live it.
My husband and I has a retirement home in Davao del Norte, Samal to be specific which is in Mindanao. We are happy and feel safe there. 1500 USD per month will do if you own your place. Good luck in your retirement.
Hearing him at the end talk about the meat market. When I was a small kid (early '70s), Dad got a job in Central Africa. The local market was the ONLY place to get food from, including meat. Mum used to get there early, and we had a fridge at home. Over the course of 2 years there, we weren't ill once.
thanks Tim for perfect video as usual. thks Mark for showing us your lifestyle, your house & hillside pineapple farm. i’m also a Sydneysider. very different lifestyle to Tim’s. Mark, marrying your woman has really changed your life. particularly liked the last scene - sitting outside chatting, overlooking the plantation with a bottle of rum. Loved the geese too.
Your buddy Mark is a happy camper, you can tell specially when he said its Christmas everyday, how many people can truly say that? $650 a month and he has a tuktuk driver who doubles as his bodyguard 😀
I certainly enjoyed the video with you and Mark. However, even if you own everything, you most certainly have bills. The power bill would certainly be expensive. Internet, phone, costs associated with your car ect.... Mark is blessed to have married into a quite prosperous family in addition to having a wife who clearly manages resources well. Also, congratulations, Tim, on the weight loss and the sobriety. 21:12
My family is from Davao del Norte! We built a beautiful home, the largest in the Barangay as well as a small 7 hecteres farm. We have plans to build another home near Davao City. i lived there full time for 4 years but have since moved back to the states with my Filipina wife of 11 years (now an American) and our 2 sons. i love his set up and reminds me of how we have ours. i love what we have in the Philippines and plan to do 50-50% between here in the states and there once we get our franchise up and running back in the states. i love seeing others doing well in the Philippines and sharing our love for it! Best of luck to Tim and Mark and all of y'all! ~Scott~
Nice perspective of how your friend lives, when everything is owned. I think we saw him when you were surfing a couple of videos back. His wife seems sweet and they look happy.🥰 Funny how she said he’s like her oldest child… 🤗
@@RetiredFilipina … I said it was “funny”… but I definitely wouldn’t do that with my husband. I’m Filipina, raised in California… and I don’t do that with my husband. I think the pinays there who hook up with Americans “baby” their husbands out of gratefulness for giving them a better life. I think of it more so as “spoiling” their husbands… because they are grateful-you say “baby” them… We are all entitled to our opinions, so no worries. Blessings to all…
If you have a house and bills you dont pay for every month sure.. but 200 a month is not enough.. you need at least 1500-2000 to live comfortably in the Ph.
I've been wanting to come to the Philippines for a while, but I have had so many people say that I can't live there on my $657 a month disability income I'm glad to see that it can be done. Thanks for the video!!!
He isn't living on that budget. His wife owns her house, her cars, etc... And he didn't mention health care at all. I was in hospital. India Tacloban for 2 days. My bill was 36,000. Close to $800. I honestly feel if you dont have $1,800 to $2.000 per month, you will get in trouble. I earn $2,350 and own our home there free and clear. And we barely made it. And my wife is very thrifty. We are in usa for now. She is a nurse and we are saving money for a much better home there, and putting kids thru nursing school and medical school...aka our retirement. lol For me, its ideal to live in both places. Here until it snows, then there until it warms up here.
Sorry but I won't have money for hospitals. But I don't have to have a lot of the things most Americans do. I'm fine with 1 room and a separate bathroom. I don't have to have electricity or running water. I lived completely off grid here in the U.S., no electricity, no running water, had to bring water from the creek, and run it through a filter. Grow my own vegetables and fruit. Also, I only want to live in the provinces. No city living for me.
Take away all your western amenities and rent a tiny house or room and it can be done. Stay home and eat local food only. Dried fish and rice. No Tv , no aircon , one light your set. 😂
Always enjoy your videos! It just came to my mind to share that in my case and personal experience, though not religious, being a practitioner of Buddhism allows for sooooo much enjoyment in life on the bare minimum budget...by choice, not force. In other words, no fast/junk food, no alcohol, no drugs, no smoke (treating the body as "Gods temple") tends to equal plenty of money to do whatever you desire, wherever you live be it here in Wisconsin or there in Philippines. To top it off, love making is so much better, health excels, appreciation of nature and humankind abounds, living in the moment become easy, being aware is clear, there's lots more money, thoughtfulness, clear headedness and the like. Anyway, when there is a will, there is a way and cutting the junk often leads to enjoying a life few ever will doing so on less, even when you have more. All The Best from Wisconsin! Todd
Those nearly folded shirts and the others stuff all put away nice and neat is a clear sign of the work of a full time maid. P5k a month for a maid is a good deal (about USD $88)
Good old Aussie bloke 🤘🏾hahaha love the Fum adverb your a natural 🙏🏽$75,000 Australian for 7 bedrooms is a bloody steal I'd pay that all day every day 🙏🏽
Bless you with Fum Tim. Never smoked but I think it's brilliant to help others. I used to work in Tesco UK and can you imagine buying a 200-pack of Marlboro gold a week? Fantastic video too...
Thank you once again Tim! This is a wonderful and highly educational Video tour! Thanks to Mark and his Beautiful Wife for sharing their home and the Farm! My biggest surprise was his Turkeys!! Wish I could get some here in Thailand!! Warm regards once again!! Rob Allen and Family here in Thailand! 🐘🌴🐒🐒🌴🐘
I like how you map out geographically where a town is. I’m not sure if I could ever get past the bars. It would ruin my psyche sitting outside looking at it.
Whats up Tim. Been watching your channel for a while and just wanted to tell you that you are a funny guy! I love watching your channel because of your comments and how you talk guy talks. You are like the Howard Stern of RU-vid, meaning its like dudes talking in the locker room about real stuff. Especially your live stream. F-cuk the haters and keep up the good work. From T.O originally from L.B.C
Gidday I'm an Aussie guy who loves Philippines and living on farm house outside Bago City Negros Occidental Philippines I'm living with my Filipino wife and she's awesome the guy who's making this video should come over my farm as well
I've been together with a Filipina for 25 years, married in 20 of them. I've watched a ton of grumpy RU-vid videos about Philippines -- all kind of warning how bad it is here. That they all cheat you and wanting you money. But here, thanks the Lord, a charming still realistic video. Thanks, Tim K ☺! I totally agree: Philippines is a fantastic place to live if you are en laid-back adventurer, and not too stupid. But that does neither work in my home country -- Norway 😁
Yeah got me TimK. Good video. I'm Aussie so I loved the fact that another Aussie was on the video. Yeah Aussie's are pretty laid back, especially the older generation. Did things the hard way and learnt. 👍😁🥰❤️😇
Tim, you’re looking really good, you’re looking stronger and healthier. I am in my 50s and I think I probably have low T if you could go over what you’re taking and how you get it would be a real help to me. Keep in mind I am Canadian and don’t have access to your VA Hosp. I will visit you, but it’ll take 3 yrs before I retire.
I don’t know if you already know about another Australian farmer is Aussie farming in the Philippines. He a pretty trippy cool guy. Watching from Panama City Florida, USA. 🇺🇸🦅
Foreigners can inherit residential properties in the Philippines if they are legal heirs of Filipino citizens. Through the legal process of inheritance, the property may be transferred to the foreigner's name.Jul 5, 2023
Wow for just $650 a month Expenses and you own a house,SUV and a farm that's amazing. I have a Questions a friend of mine from the PHILIPPINES send me this monthly Expenses : $ 500 - Simple life in the Province 1,000 - Small town / City 1,500 - Medium 1st Class size city. 2,000 - Cebu/Davao 2,500 - Manila 3,000 - Makati/BGC/ Ortigas CBD Can you give a comment on the accuracy of this Expenses because will used it as a reference when we finally settle and lived in the PHILIPPINES...Tnx Tim God blessed ❤🇨🇦🇵🇭
The province is more expensive if you want a western style life. If you can live on filipino food and small town lifestyle then you may be accurate. I personally would not live in the areas you have at the budgets you have but it is possible.
Top Vid! Love seeing these. Ill point Scotty to this vid so he can see first hand why never to buy a GoPro 😂 but seriously its the most frustrating thing ever to be in the middle of something exciting or get home and find the damn thing didnt record or wont turn on, DJI Osmo Action's for me from now on only I think. Well done Mark cheers for showing us your life in sunny Samar, id love to hear some commentary on Waray girls and how they are a bit different to other Filipina's, the whole hard headed, stubborn thing would have been good to know about before I got there and may help other hapless travelers in "them there parts".
I primarily use it for the microphone which is good and the ability to go back and forth from selfie to forward looking. BUT. I always have my iphone 14 pro max as a backup as the last few scenes show. It did take 15 minutes of continuous filming in hot heat before it failed.
@@TimKyoutube Whats Marks land like for sale Tim? I love Samar id love a place with a great view of Mountains/Sea to build a Cyclone proof house, maybe a dome or something, the only thing that worries me is those Waray girls lol, worse than Quakes or Cyclones 😆
I agree about the food. So I'm building a meat shop for myself so i can make smoked bacon ham and sausages. My wife owns a farm in Biliran and raises pigs. Plus we have a couple of cows. Everything is paid for my SS is only 925 a month and we live just fine on it, and i smoke and drink. I do have substantial savings, so medical is no problem for me. I guess you could say i found a sugar mama but shes 25 years younger than me.
No wonder westerners are moving to this country in their millions, it’s beautiful, incredibly cheap and the people are so friendly and have the same values we did in the 1960s
Great post. I can relate to Mark I have lived here (Mindanao) about 10 year,s way up in the mountains and it's truly a laid back life. It does have it's down fall for me and like Mark it's the food or may I say the quality of food. I just can't bring myself to eating meat from the open market with all the flies on it. Plus the freshness of let's' say fish. I too married a lady with property so we build a house and it's nice plus a farm. Matter of fact I'm the only American living in this village.
We live in Samar and P5000 per month for domestic helper (5 days p/wk) is P250 per day... not high wages by any means (below min wage). That property is definitely worth more than $50k usd... probably twice that.
🇺🇸 Stumbled on this youtube video. Started watching but got hooked till the end! Simple conversation but so much interesting listening to two nice men just talking.. Cheers from Pennslyvania, USA 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
