Multiple sclerosis or MS is a chronic disease that affects the brain and spinal cord. Women are more likely than men to develop MS, particularly during peak child-bearing years, so family planning and pregnancy are important considerations. Fortunately, having MS does not mean you can’t have children. However, it is important to talk to your neurologist and your OBGYN about family planning now to ensure you and your baby have the best-possible outcomes.
