I remember a country from Europe, the RFID toll has no barrier at all. If the scanner not able to detect your RFID, they will use camera to identify your car and continue charge your e-Wallet.

17/10/2018 Rabu. Saya antara 2nd batch pilot pasang di R&R Awan Besar. Sticker diletakkan di bahagian dalam windscreen. (Suatu kelebihan kereta yang tiada tint film) Jika kenderaan anda ada tint film, RFID tidak boleh ditampal dari dalam, sebaliknya akan di pasang di luar windscreen (jika tidak mengganggu frekuensi). Pilihan terakhir ialah di headlamp. Itupun jika tiada tint film. Kurang 3 jam saya telah mendapat sms yang mengatakan RFID sudah boleh digunakan. Kebetulan ketika iti saya sedang di atas NPE maka saya terus mencuba kali pertama di PJS2. Hasilnya amat berpuas hati. RFID bukan seperti gateless ERP Singapura. Maka tidak perlu laju-laju ketika memghampiri plaza tol. Lorong tu muat-muat sebuah kereta je, Lorong RFID di PJS2 agak luas maka saya mencuba pada kelajuan 45 km/j dan scanner berjaya dibaca. Namun ketika menggunakan Smartag, saya bawa lebih kurang 20 km/j saja, yang penting ialah dapat scan. Laju-laju nak pergi mana? Apapun, saya berbangga menjadi pilot tester. Kepada yang ingin melihat bagaimana rupa sticker RFID di kereta saya, sila WA 011-35297936.

I use this RFID daily....i think the main advantage is I don't need to top-up my card...just set auto reload via my E-wallet. No need to que for top up and no one will try to steal my SmartTAG unit. Almost 1 year already, RFID still working fine... And no one really peeled the sticker...don't think kids really attracted to and go crazy at someone headlights..hahaha

I feel this doesnt make any difference to smart tag as u need to wait for the gate to open ( maybe its just a test phase ) ? They need to make it like australia which is gateless Its so damn ugly also if stick on the headlamp... why not just stick on the inside of the windscreen?

Here in the Philippines we are also converting to rfid on all tollways. But here the detection point is near the barrier/toll house. You can only do I think 10km/h. Also there are 2 types of sticker used. One on the headlight and one on the windshield.

Kudos to the 'Genius' who approved this and also the other 'Genius' who came up with this idea.. Sometimes imagination does not go hand in hand with practicality 😁

If you go to Melbourne, the cars just passed by smoothly, there are no tolls at all. There are the infra red scanners from the top which scans the tag in the cars immediately without the need to stop at all ..

Cer buat perbandingan lokasi rfid tag .... windscreen vs headlamp mana yg lebih bagus prestasinya ..... headlamp design berbeza, small space, dll berbanding windscreen .... bigger area ...... hantar le ke nippon antenna, japan/sirim utk test ......

Why dont use singapore's ERP technology? Eventhough the device cost like a smart tag but the tech is solid and works flawlessly.

Yes on the headlights its the furthest front of a car.... but the RFID beam is coned shape. So not much of difference in timing detection. Fixing at the top center of windscreen will be nearer to the toll sensor and less prone to vandalism. Esp cars with plastic headlights cover that fades over time that needs polishing

Why stick at the headlamp? why not at the center top windshield from inside. is it durable? how the sensor detect when there's bunch of car line up (PH jammed) just in case.

If this is to be fully implemented, i wonder what will happen if suddenly all of the RFID lanes have issues (it will at some point), currently, if a smart tag lane is clogged up (toll booth issues, driver issues etc) u can always opt for the TnG lane (manually tap your card) but with RFID, what would be the alternative? Do we have to top up both TnG AND RFID then? That is just plain silly

By looking at this video, PLUS should really revise their gate distance from the scanner. Put it further away and replace it with some early warning system like a row of red lights saying that the reader didn't manage to read the data from your RFID/SmartTag. That will greatly reduce the possibility of a speeding car hitting the boom gate.

If the headlamp is damaged due to an accident, how fast can you get the replacement? and if your car is stuck in the workshop for 1 or 2 weeks and you need to borrow someone else car...do you stick your new rfid to that car? On the other hand...what if someone borrows your car...and uses the toll...enters the subang toll... exits the alor setar's toll and the balance gets deducted from your account...oh oh

There 2 type of RFID, one stick at headlamp and the other one at windshield. At this moment, only RFID sticker for headlamp available for pilot test.

I find the RFID sensor on NPE toll is the best so far for me. The worse is Kesas.

Sticker should b place inside the windscreen car. What happen if someone sabotage n remove rfid sticker without our knowledge, this create havoc right? Think again !!

Try entering a RFID toll and exit somewhere there is no RFID reader. How many devices do I need to go to East Coast? Is PLuS installing RFIDs on the eascoast highway too?

Why not you put the sticker on your car right lamp because the sensor on your right side right?

They should go to Dubai and take a look at Salik system. Cars freely drive through gantry at full highway speed of 100km/h plus with no gate etc. They system has been there for many years ..... what the hell is PLUS doing with this ??

Well i go thru smart tag at 30kmh every time every day. I thot with rfid we don't have to reduce the speed that much?

Kalau diterapkan di Indonesia akan sulit. Semoga bisa dinikmati oleh umum. Tidak seperti akai ETool Card atau ETool Pass yg lelet. Cuma ya perlu diperhatikan beberapa masalah yg mungkin timbul: Cuma perlu dibuat mekanisme bagaimana tahu sisa saldo supaya tidak lupa isi nabrak palang. Masalah selanjutnya pemasangan EToll Pass suka random kadang ada kadang tidak. Jika ada pun tidak ada petunjuk apakah alatnya on, off atau rusak. Kalau unit pembaca kartu manual yg pakai berhenti buka kaca dan ditempel selalu on. Kalau gardunya ada alat pembaca EToll Pass mengantung tapi lagi bobo alatnya ya nabrak. Mungkin perlu diberi lampu merah dan hijau tambahan selain untuk alat ETool Manual yg berhenti buka kaca dan tempel, ada lampu merah dan hijau untuk unit ETollPass nya. Lalu urusan masuk dan keluar Toll khan di beberapa tuas TOL misalnya Cikampek khan wajib pakai Kartu yg sama, jika pinjam kartu atau ganti kartu berbeda bisa otomatis denda 200ribu dianggap melanggar peraturan menggila putar arah di tengah jalan Tol. Jadi cukup repot harus mencopot kartu dari unit EToll untuk ditempel manual. Untuk resiko potongan Rp200ribu ini hanya terjadi di Tol yang melalui lebih dari satu gerbang tol dan pakai EToll sebanyak lebih dari satu kali. Kalau pakai RF seperti frekuensi di atas maka akan sering kena denda Rp200ribu tsb. Sebab jika lagi tidak mendapatkan gardu RF misal karena salah jalur di jalur manual atau memang RF nya lagi nga berfungsi maka siap siap kena denda rp200ribu karena beda kartu. Pernah aku lewat TOL Cikampek misal pas masuk pakai etool mandiri, pintu tol berikutnya mandiri lagi error jadi pakai flash lalu ya keluar toll bisa resiko kena tuh yg denda Rp200ribu. Aku pernah setahun lalu pinjamkan kartu ke pengemudi yg habis etollnya lalu kena denda 200ribu pas keluar tol. Karena saldoku nga ada maka diajak ke kantor oleh petugas. Aku menggila aja pura pura mau parkir lalu tancap gas. Ujungnya ya nga etoll tetapi "di kantor" Jadi banyak kemungkinan problem yg membuat orang pikir 100x sebelum mau diupgrade tekhnologinya. Lebih murah terima macet aja. Solusi: Mengisi EToll jumlah uangnya harus kurang dari Rp200ribu di saldonya. Kalau lewat jalan Tol yang harus melewati lebih dari satu pintu Tol lebih baik punya beberapa jenis kartu emoney sebab bisa saja lagi eror. Jika muncul tagihan Rp200ribu pura pura aja mau bayar, palang Tol dibukakan manual tancap gas kaburrrr. Kalau mau dibuat menjadi RF Etollnya harus diperbaiki aturan aturannya tidak boleh ada jebakan sisitem yg bisa charge besar tiba tiba lalu konsumen terima nasib saja.

in Singapore i didnt see any gate , and this put on headlamp sticker good for punish those triple or double parking people,just tear off their sicker ,haha

Aint nobody got time to keep replacing the RFID sticker if it gets stolen/damaged. SmartTAG is still great for now until they fix and adjust the errors and bugs in this testing phase

Old Smartag is practical.

The new myvi came with a very nice built-in system for tng smart tagging.. other cars may not have that kind of convenience, but stickers, really?!! Smart!! Forget about stealing stickers, let's just hope no one comes up with a hack to steal your money from the RFID. hahaha...

for Malaysia, this is progress BUT solutions exist in other countries last 20 years.....sigh....

Surely theres better alternative instead of this Rfid sticker right? seems so flawed 1. Peeling/sabotage issues 2. Rfid booth unusable resulting in users to opt for the tng booth which means, users will need to have a separate tng card ready for backup, making owning the rfid seems pointless 3. Same speed as smart tag and alot more

smarttag, well the thief gotta break in for it while this sticker.. everyone can just tear it easily, everyone! trust me there are a lot of kids who do it for no reasons, I reckon better place the sticker inside on the top of windscreen.

We all knew that barrier pole is an outdated technology as it tends to get stuck and deactivated when the relay get stuck. In US, they didnt use pole, instead they use camera. There is no barrier pole at the toll station. It is time to upgrade the technology.

Why RFID not do like our current road tax sticker stick inside the window, cause if stick at outdoor like head lamp or outdoor window if change by people we also don't know during we want the toll just know that not enough money in this RFID. This I think will give trouble to all ppl.

What were they thinking, it make it easier to steal the touch n go rfid tags and used it on other car, and by my knowledge rfid is the easiest things to clone If you have right tools. And most of all, WTF WITH THAT RFID TAGS PLACEMENT., WHY ON THE HEADLAMPS?
