@@gavins9846 Maybe I'm confused, I'll give it another shot. But I ate it not too long ago and the crust was like cardboard, the cheese was like rubber and it was salty as hell.
I remember when Domino's quality went downhill. I stopped ordering for several years. When I saw the ad that they improved it, I was surprised that they actually admitted that their product had gone to crap. That sounded sincere to me, so I tried them out again. They weren't lying, it was a completely improved pizza in every way. I remain impressed.
Dominos has also done this really smart thing of partnering with colleges which essentially gets young people to be lifelong dominos customers (myself included)
It's always 30 min late and never free, sorry that's a marketing thing.. They'll say that Traffic is bad, delayed delivery No delivery boy available other moronic excuses..
@@aaronstone6183 I am pizza delivery person in Domino's pizza in India , Chennai we give free pizza if it is late and come under our location 2 square kilometers
I know it's a joke, but nobody would want that lol. Where's the enjoyment of eating a pizza? May as well abandon it and just teleport healthy disgusting vegetables into our stomachs.
Not really. Considering how much food we waste, Domino's will simply deliver the pizza straight to the nearest dumpster (thank you John Oliver for this joke).
Small side story: Domino's franchisee in Peru had an incident around 7 years ago, where customers found cockroaches in their pizza. Suddenly multiple reports of similar higiene issues appeared and people tweeted the stories. The headquarters in the US saw the tweets, reassured action would take place, and a week later they revoked all franchisee contracts, which made the stores to be closed for years. About 3 years ago, someone else acquired the franchise back there and have been slowly reopening the stores, with an open kitchen policy and total update/modernization of the restaurants.
@@napsterking you do realize they don't just use your location to deliver pizza to you? Their marketing and sales tactics and lord knows what else is influenced
@@quandalemuncher2337 Welcome to the future. You actually have already been tracked by using a browser. Nevermind that.. whatever company your device is from knows everything about you already... cool huh?
Many years ago Domino's was failing. I mean their pizza sucked. They started a television campaign and went to the people asking them what they'd change. The people spoke and Domino's listened. This is why they are #1 in my area.
@@latortugapicante719 Nah, worked there as a manager for a second job, pizzas are bigger, and fresher than any other pizza place. Pizza hut uses all frozen pre made crusts. We hand make every pizza from raw dough at every Dominos.
@@latortugapicante719 Dominoes in my area wrecks hell on most pizza places around me, I feel like I can always count on them to deliver bomb ass pizza.
Local franchise gave points for a free pizza when the delivery was late--even before I had a change to complain or call. They just emailed. "That was bad service. We apologize." And they made it right. That's how you keep customers!
I live opposite a dominos I mean straight across the street and no lie when I’m hanging and get them to deliver they still can’t find my yard and I got to get off my ass feeling like a stale crumpet and have to go meet the driver 🙄
So does every other service that has to deliver things to your house and every app that needs GPS access. Anyone still paranoid about this should not have a smartphone or a PC.
None of the major chains were started by Italians...Dominos was started by Irish guys, Papa John is German, Little Caesar’s was started by a Russian and Pizza Hut was started by a Scottish guy
When I was in college (1997-2001), our campus food service had a partnership with Domino's, so we could use our meal plan flex dollars for Domino's food. Since I rarely could eat a whole pizza at once, I would put the leftovers in the fridge till the next day. By doing this, I learned that Domino's has the BEST REHEATED FOOD I’D EVER HAD; the reheated leftovers were JUST AS GOOD AS FRESH! For this reason, Domino's has remained my favorite, & the reheated quality hasn't changed in that time. When I get Domino's now, I normally tell this to the delivery person/carryout cashier.
if the guy who traded the vw beetle were to run the company, i doubt it would have the same success today. It was bought by Bain Capital. those people are the elite of the elites. they know how capitalism works. not that guy
I love their pizza. It’s cheaper than frozen pies and the flavor is still pretty good. I tried other local places near my area but the price did not match the flavor profile, so I stick with dominoes for now.
I stayed getting Domino's constantly in 2014 in college. Two large pizzas for like 14 bucks. It was dinner and a snack for Friday and Saturday. It was cheap and easy to order.
@@onepull-upaday2333 6' 2". 210 lbs. I was a college athlete. With the works i could go through 5k calories a day. I don't do it anymore. Too many calories.
$5.50 AUD value range down here in Australia which is about $3.72 USD Used to be $5 AUD but only half the value range pizzas are that price now I think only the cheese pizza and vegetarian pizza.
WRONG! I tried to order one here in Florida two days ago and was told that offer expired. They said that for a large 3toppping pizza with delivery and tip would come to about $30.
When they changed there sauce and started doing chicken wings and pasta...and the order online coupons are how they won my business for life. Consistency is the key in any business, I've had minor issues over the years, little mistakes...topping, wrong crust etc. I had a heart to heart with the owner..didn't ask for a freebee, even though he did offer. My point is treat people the way you want to be treated and you get a loyal customer for life👍😎.
I can't believe Pizza Hut is doing as well as it is. Every one I see in a 50 mile radius is always empty. I hardly ever see any activity and often wonder how they are still open.
Dominos is doing way better in my area. The pizza hut by my house closed like two years ago after being here for decades. I honestly prefer their pizza has improved vastly over the past decade and they are honestly my favorite "fast food" pizza now.
@@Viscarlets as an asian i agree, not many pizza stores out there and yes, pizza huts in asia are very very crowded, at weekends be prepared to queue 5-10 mins just to order
I thought no one out-pizzad the hut. If they would hire some decent people at Pizza Hut, they would be "makin' it great" again like they did in the '80s. Now you can barely get service at most Pizza Huts. They're forcing you to use their app since they won't answer the phone and refuse to acknowledge yo when you sit down in the dining area to eat.
@@wolfwang8464 It's true that their pizza has gone downhill over the past few years. My mom was at a Pizza Hut once and a huge roach crawled out from the kitchen and died in right in front of the counter. After the customers told several different workers about the roach, finally a cook came out and scooped up the dead roach with a spatula (like they give you to serve the pizza when you dine in) and took it to the back with him.
Props to Domino's for navigating an incredibly cutthroat market full of disruptions. Frozen pizza, ruthless competitors, third party delivery services for over 60 years. How many companies can say they weathered that storm and continued to thrive?
I bet that one guy regrets taking that Volkswagen beetle over half the company (just making a joke, don’t have to explain saying it could of made the company worse if he stayed😂relax)
I live across the street from a Domino's. The guys at the store know me to the point that I can walk in and get my order without saying a word. Literally nothing more convenient in the whole world 😂😂😂
It supposed to read "there's no scientific evidence that non-frozen is better than frozen." I'll chose a newly thaw out pepperoni over a 5 days old non-frozen pepperoni anyday.
Of course there isn't scientific evidence. It's not fresh or frozen that make your cooking good. It's heating elements used. Convection ovens, like the ones you see on TV, have different heating elements which is why you can put in frozen items and they will come out fine.
I don't need a scientific research for that. I bought frozen beef burger patties and freshly grounded ones and cooked them at the same time, and the difference was astonishing! You can't beat fresh anything!
I watched without eating anything, stopped in the middle because this made me crave for some domino's, paused watching while waiting for my delivery, resumed watching while chewing my domino's, paused the video again because it's just sooo good that I had a meditative moment enjoying the taste, resumed watching after I felt full. I kept some in the fridge. Live is good. This is heaven on earth. 😇😇
Same as in Strabger zthings 1: It was 1980 but there was a square headlight VW Vanagon 1984 in the alley, around episode 4 or 5 I wrote to the Production Manager and he said: “ busted!”
That's why I was going there, but then they started calling most of the meats premium toppings and charging extra for each topping so it started to be too expensive to buy there often. And the store where I go is too cheap to provide crushed red peppers. I don't know of any other pizza store that won't give you peppers for your pizza.
Dominos will only ever increase your pay if the government in countries whose resraurant sector they are decimating forces them to do so. Sad thing is all the bosses that would have payed you a decent wage are going out of business becouse of agressive predatory businesses like Dominos.
Also the console Wars are still alive and going between Sony and Microsoft. And then there's Nintendo with his head in a space helmet full of gummy bears lol.
@@arandomguy3288 This video was focusing primarily on the US market solely because they were tracing the company's roots, and not the Indian one (which, while the largest outside of the US by number of stores, is only about 1/5 of the size of what is in the US). If you were to look at revenue, I bet it's far less than 1/5 of what is taken in here in the states. It could be that Jubilant FoodWorks simply doesn't feel that it's worth hiring employees themselves, and I bet those delivering food there get paid comparatively far less than what they do here in the states as well, making it a smart financial move for the company.
Not even close. Third party delivery services existed in the 90s and completely collapsed with the dot com bubble bursting. It's also not a good deal for restaurants and third party delivery isn't very reliable. Domino's does delivery better, simple.
Well it really is. Italians used to use leftover dough from bread that they'd flatten it and add sauce on top. It was a big meal for Italian Americans during the Great Depression.
You should care because not all pizzas a company offers is going to be great. Some companies only care about offering you pizza but don't care for the quality. While some companies care for both. Offering both pizza and quality pizza. Which one will you go to? A company that doesn't care for high quality pizza but just offering it for a price or a company that will offer it for a price but cares for high quality? I'll go to the one that provides both. A price for the pizza and it's high quality. At least I know I'll get something with great that company than the other one that doesn't care for quality.
This is America. McDonalds built the most profitable restaurant of all time here selling cancer. Americans do not care about quality at all. We are lazy and poor, and our women no longer know how to cook anything. We need cheap and fast.
They're inexpensive and their ceo openly admitted their pizza was pretty trash so he invested the money in improving the product. Meanwhile most other places focused on new and innovative ways to shove cheese in their crusts
Pizza Hut is known for filling their crusts with cheese. For the record Little Caesars is the worst since all their pizzas tasting like cardboard. You know pizza is bad when you start to prefer store bought frozen pizza.
@@tyronekracht461 yes, i know pizza hut is known for stuffed crusts (and garlic knot crust, and triple decker crust, and bacon stuffed crust among others) but papa John's also jumped on that train and the point i was making is other places focused on gimmicks and specialty items instead of improving the base product. And imo, Pizza Hut is the worst, their sauce is pretty much tomato flavored water, they put far and away the least amount of cheese/toppings and even their pan and breadstick dough has gotten considerably more airy, as if they're overproofing it so they can use less dough by weight to get the same volume. At least Little Ceasars' pan pizza is good, they still have crazy bread and they're so dirt cheap that it's not like you're getting ripped off. That's about as good a pizza as you're going to get for $5-6 that isn't homemade
Papito Aman whaaaaat!?!? A mass produced pizza doesn’t meet your culinary standards?!? Then make your own pizza (from scratch) Seriously... Then afterwards, think~ how convenient would it be if someone did this for me, and delivered it to my front freakin’ door
They better know where I live. I hate having to repeat myself and have to give my information out more than once if I've already ordered from you in the past.
Another major factor that makes Domino's so appealing (at least in Maryland) is the $5.99 Mix-and-Match Deal. My family ends up getting 2 medium two topping pizzas for under $20.
idk man. Just the smell of Dominos makes me nauseous and lose my appetite. I feel like I'm eating cold sauce on stale bread. They have horrible cheese and disgusting sauce. I much prefer Little Ceasars though their accessibility isn't the greatest.
@@ShawnFX little Caesars pizza is good but if u eat it too often you'll get tired of it really fast you only get pepperoni or cheese and the pizzas are a little smaller than your normal large . For a dollar more you get a way better pizza from dominos but lil Caesars has its spot
a small suggestion but if they want to shorten the time spent on delivery, they could open mini-stores focused solely on takeaway and delivery and the bigger ones will be for eating in. (you know like mini pop up stores)

Who? Me, I workout and I struggle to gain weight... I'm underweight by my height. please help, I can't gain weight. I gain 5 pounds in an hour, and lose it in the next.
@Jay Johnson That was my point. People might not get pizza because of health reasons but because they just dont want it. If health was a reason sales at other restaurants wouldn't be as good as they are.
I love dominos tracker, because even if my pizza is taking some time, at least there is some accountability for it. Also their chicken specials and other side dishes are very good
Yeah, the tho, at night I turn off the tracking feature for safety reasons, because it's much easier to rob a pizza guy if you know exactly where they are and when they're gonna arrive.
@@henrylarson You should watch 'Lone Star State of Mind'. It has a great scene about the advantages of robbing pizza boys, get a free dinner and a little spending cash. P.S. I do not condone robbing pizza boys, my bf is one
"Before joining Domino's he was the chief executive of coupon distributor..." Adds new perspective the countless hours I spent couponing when I worked for Domino's.
I started at Dominos. I was making $9.30 an hour(minimum wage in Denver at the time). They also stole my tips for months. The tips were only about $3 a day though. I used the experience to get a job at a local pizza place which paid $12 an hour to start. I eventually got up to $20 and hour plus tips. But the management was scummy so I quit. I then got an even better job that started at $18 plus tips and bonus. And now I’m about to get a raise to $20 an hour again. So my point is work local and never work for a corporation.
“Pizza can have gold on it, but it has much more humble beginnings” “This stick I found on the floor could have diamonds in it, but this stick has much more humble beginnings” Thanks for telling us all that pizza is simple I had no clue
As a socially awkward person I love ordering online. I usually order a pan pizza with garlic parmesan sauce, feta, green and black olives, groud beef, onions and green peppers.
having tried most of the chain pizzerias, I find Dominos Pizza to be much better tasting, then any of the other brands. Also, there delivery is still good, even though they no longer guarantee 30 minutes or less (which was a crazy campaign to be begin with).
At the store I work for they get drivers to aim for 15 minutes delivery time(including to the customer and back to the store). Atleast there aren't any penalties though
Here in China, everyone knows Pizza Hut, many know Papa John's, but very few know Domino's. Even the few people who konw Domino's are not likly to order Domino's but prefer Pizza Hut or Papa John's instead.
When i worked in Shenzhen I went to a pizza place called AMERICA No.1 where I got a supreme pizza that was basically covered in diced peppers and tinned corn.
Biggest problem with domino's here in Holland is the quality differences, one place is amazing and other place it's a poor pizza, they are not on the same level the frenchieses
It was the same in Denmark before they were exposed for using expired ingredients. One place was a greasy, bland, undercooked mess. Another place would make beautiful, well cooked pizzas.
I know who's making it with the tracker so I know exactly what to look forward to. I know Zachary puts too much seasoning and Amanda will pull it out early if I show up early. Amy is always perfect. It always takes 15 minutes or less and costs $8.50
