Honestly, I don't know why people think Goku crying as a kid is one of the reason why Broly is that way, lol. When you watched the background story, Broly was always that beast, destroying planets and even left his father a souvenir on his eye and Paragus was trying to keep that side of him hidden. Back then Goku was not even around, what people fails to understand is that Goku's presence is just one of the thing that pisses him off because of how annoying he was as a kid, when you study psychology you realize that it actually does make sense. Either way, even if Goku was not there he would have still done that destruction, he did it before their arrival 🤷🏽♂️
Exactly! Adding to that to clarify it a bit, Broly when being his passive self was *literally being mind controlled*. The real Broly is the one we see in his flashbacks. The unhinged beast that was so Saiyanlike that even actual Saiyans feared him and asked him to stop fighting. The mind controlled Broly is literally another person and that mind control was something to be reckoned with since it could essentially switch him on and off completely. Since he was still used to wipe out the south Galaxy. Broly needed a crazy amount of mental fortitude to break out of something like that, and all Goku was, was the catalyst for that. Broly wasnt angry at Kakarot per se. His strained expressions are more him actively fighting the mind control that was on him. Once he breaks out, that anger disappears completely. Broly past that point becomes a cold blooded psychopath excited only by the prospect of fighting and killing. Whomever it may have been. He toyed with his opponents in a way none of the other main villains ever did, since all the others got properly angered at some point but the most LSSJ Broly got was annoyed. And in the end just surprised. Since they ended that fight in one punch after Goku got the powerup. We dont know how Saiyan biology works, in so much as how much the mind is capable of retaining or internalizing. And Broly was born with a power level of a teen Vegeta or an adult Bardock. Who's to say that spending all those days in a pod next to all that incessant crying didnt become a core memory to him? That's literally what the movie implies too. And besides that, all he has in his life otherwise is that King Vegeta killed him, and past that it was just him and his dad. Everything else just got destroyed in his wake so there's nothing significant there to remember. And Vegeta is not his father so there's no memory of him that Broly would have, since he isnt bitter like his dad. Which only leaves Kakarot as the last real strong memory of his real mind from before the mind control. Which gave him the push he needed to reclaim his mind. And past reclaiming it, he didnt really focus on Goku much more than he did the rest. He may have started off with saying Kakarot would be his first victim, but it was ultimately Gohan, and then Vegeta. What kind of person with an obsession and a one track mind would ask his number one target "Why dont you give up, Kakarot?" mid fight! Sorry for the rant. I love TFS but their abridged take which then got supplemented by the games make Broly look like this mindless monster who's whole motivation is some crybaby. Which couldnt be further from the truth. Broly is what he said he was. A Saiyan devil. The perfect Saiyan warrior that no one wanted to be or be around. Bloodthirsty battle rage taken to its maximum, with the power to match!
I used to think the same thing most fans think, but I understand it now, and it wasn't even just Goku's crying was annoying, it was also the fact that Goku's power level was so much lower at birth than Broly and yet Goku didn't back down from Broly's massive power level. A power of 10,000 at birth was unheard of; and Goku's inner warrior refused to back down. On top of that they made fun of Broly for crying because of Goku's crying, they were like "Aw look lol he's making Broly's son cry and yet Kakarot is so much weaker". Basically. And also when they met again years later that's also why Broly got pissed, because Goku refused to back down from Broly's superior power.

It wasn't just Goku crying. It was the fact that Goku had the cry of a warrior and still had such a low power level. Goku's crying was like he was challenging Broly in a sense. And on top of that, they were laughing at Broly when he was born, and they were laughing because Goku's crying was making Broly cry, who had such a mighty power level for a new born baby. So in a way they made fun of him because of Goku too, and that's another reason why it upset him. It's mainly to do with Goku's mighty warrior spirit not backing down from Broly's massive and stronger power level. That's why the crying upset him.
One of the soldiers proves this "look bardocks son is making paragus’s son cry! You don’t see that everyday!" That means the only baby that made him cry was goku

Small correction He was in control when doing all of this, broly in Legendary Super Saiyan said full on concious words that would need someone to be concious for it plus he says things that he'd know as his base self some examples of stuff the first thing he says when he goes LSSJ was "You Kakarot, you will be the first of my VICTIMS" and later on he also states "oh look, the little slaves decide to be brave" and howhe notices the little slaves love to look up in the sky at their silly old planet, probably dreaming they can go back there someday, but then he yells BUT IT IS JUST A DREAM, then he shoots a blast at the slaves, and before it hits them he curves it to aim at their home planet blowing the whole thing up, then he says "oops did I just blow it up? Hehehe HAHAHAHAHAH!!" So just from these two I think its pretty obvious he was fully concious while in LSSJ and had full control of himself, and him being in full control of himself and overflowing with power is part of the reason why he acts more like this than he does in his base, since in his base he was controlled by his father plus its also a thing with Super Saiyan transformations that they make you angrier, so being in a Super Saiyan transformation alone also influences his emotional balance making him angrier, but he is still the same Broly he was in his base form he also has a self view since he states he is a demon not a monster, which shows he is aware of his self existance and can give himself a title which is also another sign that he isnt in a berserker state and is in control Super Broly on the otherhand...He was in a Berserker state and had no control over himself
Some good points, but even in Z, we'd see Super Saiyan change the mindset of anyone who entered the form - most notable is SSJ2 Gohan turning straight sadistic on Cell (deservedly, but still - it's not his usual demeanor). How evil is base form Broly compared to other Saiyans? About the same. He's just better at getting his evil accomplished thanks to his massive power.
Dragon Ball AF which was a fan made series showed how Z Broly behaves in base form without that control crown. He's just as batshit insane as he is in LSSJ form

Okay I'm going to say this again and correct everybody that's not the whole point and why he's angry at Goku is because he shattered his pride in the movie they imply this when they have people talking shitt behind his back and he can get angry because children especially babies that are Saiyans have a photographic and he's just literally mad that they were talking shitt about him as a baby not Goku crying literally
Broly was fully conscious and 100 percent aware of his actions after he transformed. Broly isn't a mindless raging monster with 0 personality like TFS and everyone makes him out to be. Super Broly was actually the mindless rage monster once he transformed lol not Z Broly. Z Broly didn't even hate Goku for crying either the original Japanese dialogue and movie explain and show this fact way better than the dub.
Broly is pure evil, First Broly mainly since he was in control of his actions and had a full conscious while fighting Goku and his allies even making remarks so cold and deadly before going through with them showing he had no remorse in what he was doing while in Second Coming he had one moment of full consciousness when he was in his full Saiyan from fighting Gohan and finally when Goku came back as a spirit with the kamehameha wave. Bio Broly doesnt count.
