Was I being obnoxious near the dugout? YES! But I was desperate. Normally I wouldn't ask an MLB player to get his teammate to sign autographs, but what else was I supposed to do? It had been six years since I caught my 9,000th baseball at Chase Field -- a batting practice home run hit by MLB outfielder Joc Pederson, who is not the easiest guy to track down. He was with the Dodgers at the time. Now he plays for the San Francisco Giants, so when I booked this trip to the Bay Area, I packed my milestone ball in the hopes of finally getting it signed.
Shoutout to Carlos Rodón and Evan Longoria for being VERY nice and signing a different ball for me. As I mentioned in the video, I'm giving it away on Instagram so make sure to follow me there (@zack_hample) for a chance to win it.
I should also give a shoutout to the entire stadium for being incredible. From the kayakers in McCovey Cove to the characters on the Portwalk to all the lovable weirdos inside the stadium, it's truly a magical place . . . speaking of which, check out my friend Marc on Instagram (@sfgiantsgman), and if you see him at a game (most likely at Oracle Park or the Oakland Coliseum), say hello! If you like the shirt he was wearing, you can get one for yourself here:
