+R Humphrey Thanks, Rod. I have to admit, the wood choice was primarily skewed (!) toward the ability to turn quickly vs. interesting grain. Thanks for watching, and for your comment!
+Barnacules Nerdgasm I did a quick sanding with it spinning, but that creates streaks around the circumference. I stopped the lathe to sand it lengthwise (along the grain) to remove those sanding marks.
+Neil Newman Thanks for your comment. The skew is incredibly versatile for spindle work, and I really enjoy using it. I couldn't think of a faster way to turn a pen! :)
See, I knew the second one would be shorter. Not because you built up to it, but because the music changed to a funky groove. That always means less time spent.
+baconfatlabs Next time, I'll have to use horror/suspense music, so the audience will yell at the screen, "No, you idiot, don't use the skew chisel! You'll get a catch!" Thanks for watching, sir!
Thanks for your comment. I've had some personal issues that I've been dealing with. Trying to get the ball rolling again. I appreciate the encouragement.
+Barry's Workshop hope everything is well, looking forward to your videos. BTW watching your video is what pushed me over the edge to do my first one. I was blown away by how fast you were I watched it a bunch of times and noticed you did not use a barrel trimer and that you had your blanks cut to length. that shaved like two minutes out of my time. thanks for the tip.
