Thanks Simon. It was all for the cameras! ;) We (Flying Cowboys) really try to set an example to get people excited about aviation and to get involved. It's far easier to get into it than one might think.
Cool video. Bummer that you were sick but good on you for making the best of things anyway. If you take another flight in Turbulence, it'd be awesome to get a few more shots of the PFD so we can see some of those crazy performance numbers. And a little live audio of that P&W turbine would be sweet, too. I'd love to geek out just watching Mike start her up. Where's that crater you visited? Looks like a must-see!
Just great places, freedom, and great behaviour, rarely found here in europe, Makes me wish to be an American, one day I will . Cheers from Paris and Geneva.
@@flycory That's biological warfare, my dude. Laws of war dictate that I have no choice but to respond in kind with either nuclear or chemical. Nuclear is expensive and I'm a cropduster, so chemical it is....
Everyone who spends a few minutes within a quarter mile of the crater is affected even today. In about 1959 one young lady got a blast of atomic energy through her pituitary gland and became a giant. She grew to the size of the high-voltage towers that carry electricity from Hoover dam across the desert. They even made a movie out of her.
Cory, I spent many years flying back and forth over the west looking down from airliners thinking ..... Wow wouldn't it be great if there was some kind of airplane that I could use to land on some of those interesting places I keep seeing...... And..... Dam.....!!!! You are doing it......!!! I sure would like to have had a plane like you Flying Cowboys have back then. If I could shave off about forty years I'd be out there with you......!!! Good on ya. Thanks for posting these videos.... You are helping me to live my dreams vicariously.
Death Valley is awesome. I spent 2 weeks there, one in the back country. There's no way to describe the vastness of the place. The "lunar crater" is called Ubehebe. It was created by a steam/gas explosion (volcanic) called a maar. It might be as new as 800 years old. Cool video. Anything with Turbulence in it is automatically cool...
Love the chicken strip! A few years back my cousin and I did the #heavierout thing there, visited the hot springs and put some fresh waters in the bucket (those could have been what's left of them). #HeavierOut is a great idea by the way! Can't wait to get some more free time for more missions!
Cory, there is just no way to describe the beauty of old planet earth. But in flying you get to see how nature has carved out the land and the landforms. I study topography and there is no better way to see that but flying in a back country airplane. Thank you!
You guys are great! Ex Rodeo Cowboy and rancher here. What’s your opinion of the S7 courier, 2012 slsa? I have an op to maybe get it. Has Alaska bush wheels, spares for pavement, vg and 100 hp Rotax. Den on and ap as well. But mainly interested in the back country performance.
At time 2:10 you see them landing on runway 8. FYI viewers: Only America uses a single digit for runways 1 thru 9...the rest of the world always use double digits, such as runway 08. In America we say runway 8...the rest of the world says runway 08. Trivia...who cares...I care.
This was a really enjoyable video, makes me wonder some of the places I may have explored if I had got my pilot's license back in 1973. Yeah there's a story behind not getting it but this is not the place to tell it. When things finally work out I will probably Mosey Down you guys as way and look you guys up and maybe go flying with you. Just remember real Pilots are not afraid of pink airplanes
This isn't an easy request. Video production takes time. And when we're called to conduct a search, time is a luxury we don't have. I will try and figure it out. But I don't know if it's appropriate to take time away from potentially life saving work to shoot a video for RU-vid. Perhaps an after action report or something.
Being out and having fun and then have the flu hit. Not cool. Not that you could help it. I went to our Church Men's retreat and started feeling sick. Bad cough. Went to doc when I got home. I had Walking Pneumonia. I missed hot Friday and the next 2 weeks of work in December. I was working for Radio Shack at the time. Missing two weeks of Christmas sales is not good.
My dream is to get my license and fly like y'all do. I'm a backwoods guy and always wanted to fly. Never enough money tho, so I keep dreaming. I would love to be a Flyin Cowboy. Love your channel.
DO IT! You'll regret NOTHING once you do. People often talk to me about the cost of getting a pilot certificate. I like to answer those questions with this question. What life experiences is it costing you to NOT do it?
☆HOOTYHOO☆ ; Man, I wish I'd gotten into flying in my youth. I've only ever flown on comm. airlines in my life. Which is an experience in it's self. and I've had vivid dreams of flying like a bird, and I've done the VR Experience (no G-forces)... I know life as a pilot would have broadened my world, As I've seen in a few of your vids as well as Mike P's. videos. I'm '57 ' now; I'm a firm believer in manifesting so I'll say ; some day, one day, I Will Do this fly in a smaller type Plane. maybe even pilot one(I don't know). Crazier things have happened! Saying it that way , I may have sealed my 'fate'. But who knows....For now I'm living that lufestyle VICARIOUSLY through yours and, Mike's and, possibly other's videos. thanks for the experience; be it limited; I love the veiws you've seen & shared w/ us. Thanks again, Scott Outta Wa. p.s.: I live only a 1/4 mile from Paine Field/Boeing, Everett, Wa. ... for what it's worth... Come by & take me up one time. You'd be checking off a tic on a man bucket list. 😟😭please😭😂 😆😎 I know, I know! wishful thinking....
Really enjoyed the vids. Would love to see a walkthrough and more details of “Turbulence” amazing. I have my practical May 4th. Home to be able to join you in the skies soon.
That's the kind of flying that got me into to flying (haven't flown now for maybe 10 years) but seeing these videos has definitely got me thinking about getting back in!
Thanks Dennis! Don't be green! Come play! I would highly recommend you look up a local EAA chapter. The people are awesome, and even non-pilots can participate in the building and flying adventures. eaa.org If you like warbirds, there's likely a Commemorative Air Force wing nearby. They're always looking for help to keep the historic warbirds flying. I got my start as a volunteer, it's a great way to get involved. commemorativeairforce.org/
Oh man, sucks that the port-a-John was knocked over where you guys landed for lunch! On another note, my boys do the same thing whenever I get home from a trip. Nothing beats walking in the door, hearing “Daddy!” and then getting tackled!
@@flycory Haven't flown since 2004. Turned into a sailor in the Carib. Gliders were my sky love. Lark IS28 B-2, two seater aerobatic, pressurized O2 for two. Then Avid's.
It's easy to be envious, but I know they work hard. You know, it's odd to me that for some people envy triggers an urge to succeed, achieve, and help others. But in others, it triggers an urge to sabotage the person they envy. If we could only figure out how to help convert the latter to the first, the world would be a much safer/better place.
Love going back and watching some of your old vids Cory, always entertaining but with some great timeless messages eg - Leave a place better than when you arrived - Great to get home to a loving family awesome!! Thanks mate :)
Trapped in corporate America looking after a fleet of 430 helicopters. Love your videos. Very positive and the low is slow is just my style. Cheers and best wishes for continued success!
