Hey Glamfam! In this video I am discussing what is really happening to the hair when you are flat ironing your hair. This is important information to know because there can not only be issues of heat damage, but also of a loss of hydration. This , when done repeatedly can cause issues with dryness. The number one cause of breakage is dryness, so we want to ensure we are correctly identifying and solving the issue. As always, if you have any questions, let me know in the comments! Until next time y'all, take care, God bless, and stay glam!

Sin shortens life, because of our sins we are separated from God. Everyone have an expiration date and this world have an expiration date.There is nothing in this world worth going to hellfire for, depart from worldliness everyone. It's NOT about religion/denomination, it's about a relationship with Jesus Christ by praying everyday, reading the Bible everyday, believe the gospel, While you are still alive repent of all of your sins and be born again. Rapture is imminent, do not be left behind. Jesus Christ is coming back everyone, get yourselves ready.

More stylists need this info. I got a silk press for the first time in April and now I have heat damage!! My hair was healthy and curls popping. Now I look like someone threw a perm at my head and I didn't duck quickly enough, smh.
@GetGlamFam

They likely had their temperature setting too high. I see too many stylists that set the iron it the highest temp because it’s faster, rather than selecting the appropriate temp for the clients fabric of hair.

This is why I've always done my own hair. My natural hair presses straight at 360-375 with one pass. Every two weeks I flat iron it and my coil pattern is still intact...unfortunately. I was actually hoping that after 2+ years of continuous flat ironing fine hair that the texture would be looser but nope.

I love the power of this knowledge. I started a channel about hair. I straighten my hair super often. About half the year my hair is straightened. I have the babyliss straightener as well. Its perfect. I always makre your to have a leave in moisturizer as well as a geat protectant spray in my hair before blow drying and then i straighten. Hair is soft and sleek with just 2 passes and the chase method. I have tried straightening with no product and my hair wont go sleek or shiny, and it has loads of frizz like you said. My hair is waist length from following basic steps to prevent heat damage. Thank you for giving us the goodies. 😊

The timing of this video couldn't have been better. I had just flat-ironed my hair for the first time in over a year a week ago and had no idea why it was so dry afterwards. Like most people, I thought the smoke was because the iron was too hot, and not that it was steam as the moisture was coming out. As someone who struggles with maintaining moisture, this was not something I can afford to have happen, but now that you have explained what to do to avoid this, I will know how to safely flat-iron my hair the next time I do it.

I never thought of the steam that I saw when I flatironed my hair as moisture loss before. But it definitely makes sense. Do you teach your students how to do tape in hair extensions as well? I recently watched a number of videos of people who had them done. The interesting thing is that I haven't heard how they are removed. I've wondered if they put any strain on the person's on hair? Or if they caused any damage or thinning long term? They do look really natural though. And it was good to see that you uploaded a video. The slick back is still slicking.
@denisemoore9316

The same can be said about perms, another chemical that straightens the hair AND can actually be deadly, yet no professional ever talks about that because they’re scared of telling the truth. Back to flat irons, I haven’t used one since high school and that was a decade ago. Growing up I had a fascination with long and straight hair for many years. I still like it, but I no longer have a desire to change my own hair texture because I love it, God blessed me with length and it makes me unique.

As usual, always learn something. 🎉 I have flat ironed my hair with just leave in conditioner, flat iron on 350, and was concerned when I saw smoke. I couldn't fathom why? Thank you, I now understand. I only did it a couple of times on my natural clean hair & knew it couldn't be good. Will leave that flat iron alone & just continue with my twist & braid outs. I use the Revair to stretch my hair. Do you have any thoughts on that? Thank you!

You have the combat gel in your hair slick here, don’t you Linwood? 😄 Man that looks good. You really sold me when I saw you use it so I’m pretty sure I recognize it here! I can’t wait to get my hands on some. ❤ Thanks for the excellent educational content on flat ironing.
