You could never do enough pond updates as far as I’m concerned. I share your excitement in filling up this beauty. My prediction of November 4th may be too late now. 😊

Not repetitive at all. Keep the updates coming. Consider stocking a few Triploid Grass Carp this spring. What was once lawn and is soon to be submerged weeds would be cleaned up in short order with a few of those aggressive herbivores. In upstate NY, it is extremely regulated and you need to apply for a permit and then the state approves how many you can stock. I put only 6 in my one acre surface area pond in the spring of 2023. They were six inches long at the time. Today they are about 24-30 inches long and the pond has never been cleaner of pond weed. Not that you have an issue as this is one of the cleanest ponds I have ever seen, but it is good preventative maintenance.
Thank you! I definitely will. We actually have 5 or 6 triploid grass carp in our pond. They were put in when we stocked it several years ago. Yes, you are right. Highly regulated. I have a certificate with verification from the state that they are in fact sterile. Perhaps that's why our shoreline already looks like it does. Interestingly enough though, in the last few years, I have never seen them! Did you see yours when they were small or only once they got big? I never saw them floating, but wondering if a heron or something picked them out. At the time of stocking they were by far the biggest fish that went in.
@@IndyFarmLife They are a very skittish fish. The minute they see you, they will dive deep and out of site. I only saw them once they got big. That first summer (2023) I was convinced they all died because I never saw them and the weeds didn't get much better. But I read that they get real productive in years 2-6. And MAN, that was certainly the case, because this summer, the pond weed starting coming to the surface in May and by June it just disappeared. Then I started seeing them as I walked slowly around the edge of the pond. I don't know if all 6 are still there, but the surface vegetation is night and day from before I stocked them. This winter I will apply for another half dozen for this spring and see if I get approved (I should), this way I will rotate their age. Apparently, after year 6, they don't eat as vigorous.
Thanks! I would have to brace it somehow but seems to me it would work! Not sure if I will do that yet this fall or not, but it would be easier than digging up the overflow and trying to fix it that way!
@@IndyFarmLife I think you said in a prior video that you have a lot of fill left over from excaviting the pond, could you use some of it to mae a mound of earth around the stand pipe to insulate it from freezing in the winter? Maybe even have an outlet at the top of the stand that would angle down to let gravity take care of anything above the ponds overflow level with only the output end fo that pipe exposed to air.
Your excitement is infectious. I’ve had my 220v pump running for a week and it’s brought my pond up about a foot. I’m getting 13 GPM out of it, 24 hours a day. My plan is to have solar before next summer. Which RPS system did you install? They recommend an 800V for me. Is RPS a sponsor of your channel? I appreciate the pond updates… I’m sure I will be just as excited about mine staying full… Through the Texas summers… Every year… 👍🏻😎
Thank you! I am definitely excited. It's really amazing what continuous flow will do to the water level in a pond! Eliminating the electric cost is a great added benefit. We installed the Pro 750V. Great update! I have been waiting for a pond video! For the vertical pipe, make sure that you drill a hole in the side or leave the cap ajar or else it will stay air locked and you won't ever see a water level in it. Just 2 cents from this armchair expert 😂 Keep up the great work!

Looking great! I've got a pond expert coming out next week to give me some options on how to improve my little pond. I really don't want to scrape it down, but we have so much vegetation around the edges - it needs help. No well for me, but I am looking at a solar aerator/fountain. Thanks! If you aren't opposed to spraying, I have used a product that will knock out shoreline vegetation quickly. Can't remember the name off the top of my head. Air will certainly help!
